>Because they are vain and believe picking up dumb iron looks cool. The only reason anyone would lift weights is to show off.
Itt a ton of morons call other people's hobbies stupid. Calisthenics is cool, also lifting heavy ass weights is cool, also just looking jacked is cool. All the other cool things people do, those things are cool too. I was swimming and saw a fatass do some dope flips into a lake yesterday, and I though it was cool. Stop being a wienersucker trying to call shit uncool just because it's not your thing.
This dude is ripped as frick but the light and the angle are doing him no favours
>being independent from the gym (it's free and there's no need to commute) >learning how to train everywhere >doing cool looking stuff >doing more creative movement patterns and becoming effectively stronger and more athletic than those who do completely uninspired barbell movements
and most importantly: only an unexperienced gymcel thinks gym equipment is absolutely necessary to get strong
No, it absolutely isn't. Training is specific. So if you're training squats, you'll get stronger sure, but you're mostly adapting your muscles and nervous system to that specific movement. The guy that is more functional is usually going to be the one that trains for the kind of work they will have to do.
Keep telling yourself that, powersharter
Tell me more about how manual labour is a gain goblin, I need a good laugh.
Functional strength isn't real moron
When have you ever used your strength "functionally" for something you couldn't've done without having spent a thousand hours exercising
Because they are vain and believe their gimpy flailing looks cool. The only reason anyone would do calisthenics is to show off.
lol completely wrong. I did it for a while because it is free, faster and more convenient. Surely you can not gain as much strength doing calisthenics, but for aesthetics it is completely enough. After I switched to gym my lifts were around 1.2/2/2.5/3, pl8 so yes legs do lag behind, but other than that, it will make you fairly strong.
Because little guys want to do something where they aren't compared against well-established big guy standards. Just like the lifters who prioritize OHP over bench
I had a fricked up body from years of insendentary lifestyle plus bad posture and tried weightlifting first, and even with autistic focus on form I still plateau'd and got injured.
I gave up fitness for a few years, and started calisthenics after that. I've fixed pretty much all of my problems and didn't get any new ones, so i just stuck with it. I'll admit that weightlifting is way faster gains but squats, deadlift, bench, OHP, barbell rows, etc never felt natural to me
he made progress and hasn't fricked his spine further, why shouldn't he be content about the state of things? because the squat cultist squad doesn't approve of his routine? lmao
Because the results they want aren't the same results you want, or the context in which they pursue results is not the context in which you pursue results (i.e. they're poorgay). So they don't do the same thing you do.
Bro, the last time I went to the gym was in 2016 or 2017, I've been doing calisthenics with consistency since the beginning of 2022, and bro... I ain't coming back to the gym useless is a martial arts gym, not for weights. My bones, joints, energy, will, power, agility, explosion, everything is stronger now. Plus, it makes me feel a lot better after the workout, thing that didn't felt with weights, I've felt worse, fatigued.
Because they are vain and believe their gimpy flailing looks cool. The only reason anyone would do calisthenics is to show off.

The guy from OP's pic is actually strong as frick and is overall very athletic, trains a bit of everything.
He's basically doing it for health, longevity and fun at this point, which is what every person should aim for, honestly.
You’re seriously posting Daniel as an argument against Calisthenics? He looks fantastic and travels across the world teaching people fitness.
It’s fun and can be more accessible. If you are intimidated at the gym, stingy, or don’t want to learn how to lift, you may never workout at all if you don’t do calisthenics or a sport. >being intimidated by the gym
I’m explaining the reasoning, not defending it
Yes because their arms are extended, they have to generate several times the force compared to picking it up at your chest. Plus they're just using their shoulders instead of biceps and forearms.
I don't know about other people, but I absolutely abhor gyms in general. They are loud, obnoxious, dirty, sweaty and all around unpleasant. Also, I don't give a shit about "socializing", I already have a nice, stable circle of friends and a girlfriend.
I switched to a mostly calisthenics-based routine a couple years ago and never looked back. Not having to go to the gym to work out is reason enough for me to keep my current routine.
Why must everyone fight...
I bench/squat/deadlift heavy and I also still do calisthenics accessories like pull ups and dips. Can't do the advanced stuff like levers, muscle ups, etc though but why does it matter?
Just lift how you like. I don't care if you do strongman, olly, powerlifting, or calisthenics.
If you lift seriously (your body or objects) you are cool.
checked and also based attitude
imo discipline and motivation are overhyped, if you just do what you love in the gym, you'll never skip a day by choice
I also think this, but it's because I genuinely don't care if people wreck themselves or spend years getting no results. It's not my problem simple as.
Honestly, if people don't plan to compete (aka be advanced), they should incorporate training principles from all those.
Weightlifting for explosiveness
Powerlifting/Strongmen for maximum strength
Bodybuilding for aesthetics
Calisthenics for good core control when doing bodyweight movements

I guarantee you look absolutely nothing like your pic related. He is 85kg with veins on his lower abs
This, for any healthy natty, between 80-85kg is the end goal

I mostly agree - you can probably get a bit bigger than that, but not by much.
I am 1m84, pretty lean (see pic) and I weight around 87kg while only training about 3.5h a week. I think I could get to a lean 93kg if I trained more (but I don't have the time, and I don't really want to)
No, a mix of calisthenics and gym. I was not saying that I got like that purely with calisthenics (though I know it's possible, I have friends who did), I was saying that it seems achievable to be as big, or bigger, while natty (independently from the training method).
My legs are not my strongest point, but they aren't small either
This guy looks fantastic, any person without mental issues will look at him and be absolutely impressed with the results he has achieved. This is also the kind of body women love the most. Meanwhile you are here unable to even do a single pull up, jacking it off thinking about roided up bodybuilders that look like dried up nutsacks

holy frick this is how delusional the average obese gymcel powersharter is
They both achieve different things with overlap afaik.
Calisthenics is harder to make excuses for and i think you should be able to do all the things barring genetics/injuries. Bellys hate it because they can't make any excuses and it really shows the difference in health between bellys and skellys. Skellys love it because it makes them feel more fit than they are when they can read about diet-dodgers failing the simplest bodyweight exercises.
You can do both though fr.
>13 years and the guy literally has no abs when calisthentics engages core on almost every exercise
What the frick bros? Just shit genetics or shit routine?
Shit pose. He probably looks more than decent judging by the veins but he's doing that goofy bodybuilder thing for the picture so he looks like trash.
This board really needs to learn about angles, lighting and poses.
Abs hardly exist. Look up world champions in sports where you have to be lean and have good abs (muay thai, taekwondo, pole vault, etc) 90% of the elite athletes still don't have abs. It's genetics, starving yourself, and roids.
yes goy, spend $50 a month on a gym membership and waste hours a week traveling there and back, consooming fuel and convenient foods like protein shakes and bars and plastic bottles.
You don't need a gym or weights to achieve high intermediate / advanced strength standards. You'll only need about $100-$150 worth of equipment to achieve the highest strength standards.
The caveat is that most lifters don't have the cardiovascular endurance to achieve results with lower weights, and they gas out really quickly, since they don't train their endurance at all.
calisthenics bros are the ones actually getting pussy. working out shirtless in the park while girls mirin vs working out surrounded by roided hairy man
85kg 185cm with veins on his abs with mostly calisthenics and natty, only on IST would you get skinnyfat fricking losers talking shit about this physique.
99% of calisthenics only gays are small and/or dyel.
To get big you have to lift weights, whether it's weighted calisthenics or weightlifting. No way around it.
FitnessFAQs does weighted calisthenics and weightlifting, so he's living proof of that.
Why do people do it? I don't get it. Why not just go to a gym and get better results faster?
Because they are vain and believe their gimpy flailing looks cool. The only reason anyone would do calisthenics is to show off.
Kek, did a calisthenicsgay chin-up your max bench again op?
Why do people lift weights?

Because it is always nicer to train outside with sun and fresh air
because we want _functional strength_.
ask your average roided gymbro to move a cupboard to the first floor and he'll collapse.
>_functional strength_
Not that anon but this is a meme

Because its free and its all you need. Humans didn't evolve to be big, we evolved to be agile and enduring.

some people are in it for the long run
faster isn't always better

he made progress and hasn't fricked his spine further, why shouldn't he be content about the state of things? because the squat cultist squad doesn't approve of his routine? lmao
ESL?
You do know that you don't need those barbell lifts to be fit, right?
>you don't need those barbell lifts to be fit, right?
Obviously.
Its more convenient, it relies on nothing.
not ervyone lives near a gym/big city
Not everyone finds fun in going to the gym and it's an alternative
insane cope and no body posted
Is it just me or does this guy have a better body than any non roidtroony in cbt?
Is that why there's all this seethe
Because everybody wants to be a bodybuilder, but nobody wants to lift no heavy ass weight.
I don't want to be a bodybuilder. I just don't want to look and feel like shit.
>I just don't want to look and feel like shit.
I hate to break it to you, but that makes you a bodybuilder.

Next time you guys are in the gym, you try doing a full range of motion 45 pound front raise with arm fully extended. 99% of IST can't
Kek!
Wtf am I watching? Why can’t they lift it? Is it some kind of leverage thing?
They can't front rise 20kg
Yes because their arms are extended, they have to generate several times the force compared to picking it up at your chest. Plus they're just using their shoulders instead of biceps and forearms.
Lol! Fricking hilarious!
Aren't you supposed to carry barbells like that? They can't even lift it?

what is your point? 85kg ripped and 183cm is literally the peak natty. it's impossible to be any bigger than that.
kinobody is 80kg. it's so funny how you moronic beginners high on noob gains extrapolate your gains and think you will be any bigger.
