Caloric Restriction

Caloric Restriction is the holy grail of living a long and healthy life.
Look at these two rhesus monkeys. They're both 27 years old. The left one could eat when and how much he wanted, the right one was put on caloric restriction for his entire life.

>"Scientists have known for decades that caloric restriction—reducing calorie intake without malnutrition—slows aging and extends life span"
>"Something about eating a diet that is low in calories but nutritionally complete causes a dramatic reprogramming of cellular metabolism that can't be replicated by exercise or by eating smaller amounts of high-calorie foods."

STOP BULKING
Our ancestors in the stone age weren't bulking either, they were on caloric deficit for 99% of the time, this is the normal human condition.

      OMAD?

        Anonymous

Doesn't your body not allow you to absorb more than like 30g of protein at a time per meal? If that is the case OMAD is moronic.

I’m not sure how rock solid that is but it seems to be at least somewhat true. I’m sure the body adjusts to a degree if you do OMAD but it’s still moronic if building muscle is your goal

No. muscle protein synthesis is capped at 30-50gr. Your body still uses protein for a lot of other stuff.

Based. Also more muscle mass will lower insulin resistance

You probably won't. The article mentions reducing protein synthesis as the mechanism in several places. Also:
      >Mice on calorie-restricted diets show a 30–40% reduction in IGF-1 levels, but this reduction does not take place in humans. ...low IGF-1 levels have been linked with increased life span and reduced cancer risk.
      >...people to go for three weeks on a diet that contains the same amount of calories they normally consume, but lower protein, and, in fact, IGF-1 levels dropped,". ...possibility that in addition to caloric restriction, protein restriction might be important for slowing aging in humans.

This sounds like one of those Faustian bargains where you get to live forever but you continue aging, except here you get 10 years added to your lifespan but you become a vegetable for the last 40.

Your body works less to digest the food, it's not a mystery. Fat people are accelerating their death the same way you break a machine from using it too much.

comparable to wear and tear? OPs article suggests it's more of a genetic adaptation

More of wear and tear than anything. Try jerking off nonstop until your skin peels off. Try to continuously eat while shitting at the same time. You’d pass out. The same is seen in many forms, with the “replacements” of things that should be limited. Fat cattle eat aspartame because “they won’t get fat because it’s not sugar(it’s goyslop/HFCS)” but then their body sees aspartame as sugar. However, it does not get the energy from sugar, and depletes energy in the body whilst also increasing insulin in the body as a reaction to aspartame. As a result, the cattle dies because it literally “drinks nutritionally deficient items” to death while wasting needless resources in the process.

This is very interesting, ive personally noticed it with my own body
when i was a teenager i had to get my bone age checked, inbetween i would bulk/cut. My bone age would actually increase slower when i was cutting or maintaining, and increase a little faster when i was bulking for certain periods.

Every time a cell reproduces, the DNA gets copied imperfectly. This is what causes the symptoms associated with aging. If you are constantly growing larger, your cells are reproducing more and copying shit tier DNA like a JPG that got passed around for too many years.
If you calorie restrict, your cells will be forced to metabolize the components of other cells in order to provide energy to function. The cells they will metabolize will be the ones that are functioning poorly. As a result, the average genetic quality of your cells will increase the longer you spend in a deficit state. The process is called autophagy and is well researched.

Fasting is especially effective at doing this but it, of course, directly contradicts the goals of gaining muscle mass.

Speculation: Probably an intermittent fasting scheduled leanbulk or recomp at +/- 100 cals a day is the best chance for benefits in both directions, but is not optimal for either muscle mass gaining for longevity. I'd say if you are already lean, then +100 intermittent fast and if you have some fat then -100 intermittent fast. If you're fat fat then just go for a normal weightless like -750 or -500.

So basically you're saying I should become anorexic?
Because without more concrete info like how many calories I should actually be eating each day and what kinds of foods, the only takeaway from all of this is "starve yourself to live long and healthy life"

what qualifies as an intermittent fast? I've been trying to do a 12 hr fast - 12 hr feeding window for a while now just because it fits my schedule/ lifestyle (I like to maxx sleep in the mornings and skipping breakfast because never hungry when wake up). But I also wanna bulk up to at least hit a 2/3/4/5

    > they were on caloric deficit for 99% of the time
This shows you know nothing about metabolism. If they're in a deficit 99% of the time, they would starve. Eventually you'll have to live at maintenance calories, there's just no way around it. "restricting calories" therefore just means don't be a fat frick. You don't need söyence to know that being thin is healthy.

My bulk is probably considered a caloric restriction to these scientists tbh
