Eat foods with protein and actual nutrients instead of LARPing like you'll lose weight eating 2000 calories of Mcdonald's everyday because "It's just the calories" is retarded.

Anyone doing CICO diet without also counting macros is retarded.
And, unfortunately, you can't get enough protein under deficit with MCDonalds diet.
Even KFC chicken strips won't work - too much fat.

              >Anyone doing CICO diet without also counting macros is retarded.
Exactly. That's what people mean when advocating CICO so I've gotten used to dismissing people who advocate it.

Does your “metabolism” really “slow down” as you get older? What are the implications for CICO

Nightmare scenario. You need to lose weight by eating even fewer calories and your food needs to have much greater nutritional efficiency. At some point you're squeezed for even protein while you're trying to limit food intake even more than you would on a regular weight loss diet. Ideally stop eating and wait until you get malnutrition, add some vitamins to make sure you won't die.

Cico is about weight, not body composition. Body composition involves more complex factors like quality of nutrition, training, hormones, genetic factors, etc. But to lose or gain weight, Cico is all that matters

      How you think it works:
      >Everyone's body burns 2000 Calories per day, every single day
      >You reduce you Caloric intake from 2,000 Calories per day to 1,500 Calories per day for one week
      >You lose 3,500 Calories (500 Calorie deficit x 7 days) or 1 pound of fat
      >You resume eating 2,000 Calories
      >You gain no additional weight

      How it actually works:
      >Your body burns Calories in proportion to your weight, your sex, the total amount of Calories available to it, and your activity level, typically ranging from 1,500 to 3,500 per day
      >You reduce your Caloric intake from 2,000 Calories per day to 1,500 Calories per day for one week
      >Your body adapts to this change by reducing your metabolism to conserve energy, developing insulin resistance, increasing leptin, lowering your body temperature, reducing your heart rate and breathing rate, and making you feel hungry and tired
      >You lose 700 Calories of bodyfat (or 1/5 of a pound) and 1 pound of water from carbohydrate restriction
      >You resume eating 2,000 Calories
      >You regain the lost fat, the lost water, plus an extra bit of fat while your metabolism catches up again, but you still feel tired and hungry
      >You panic because you gained weight and the cycle repeats

It wouldn't matter. The main difference is that men are typically larger than women. But you already knew that, didn't you?

Do cardio. Lowering the calories in my experiemce works to a certain point, then you'll need to move your ass to expend energy.
What happens is that some organs like the stomach lose a little bit of mass, which could take 160 kcals out of your caloric maintenance level, aside from being more lethargic in general. When the calories in part hit a plateau, it's time to work on the calories out part.

True, your body can run just as fast on 1,000 Calories as it can on 3,500. Just ask any athlete and they will tell you that fueling your body doesn't matter when it comes to performance.

            Anonymous

Being less active because you don't feel energetic, and therefore burning fewer calories, is not the same thing as your metabolism lowering/slowing.
The implication in your post is that your BMR will reduce when you are in a calorie deficit. That doesn't happen.

                >This finding has significant implications for overweight individuals who have lost weight. First, their food intake must be tightly controlled to prevent weight regain. Second, if food intake returns to pre-weight loss levels, weight regain is imminent unless EE is increased through exercise. An increase in exercise would need to occur under volitional control, however.
                Lmao
Read your own study. Only the group that did no exercise experienced a (tiny) drop in BMR that wasn't explained by weight loss.
