can I get a big back by just doing pull ups

and all of the different variations of course. I have a pull up bar at home and I'd rather stay at home for back day rather than going to the gym because it's just more convenient.

Yes, but you will have to add weight eventually. I’d recommend buying a 16 kilogram kettlebell with your pull-up bar so you can have a budget home gym.

Kind of. Pullups are great but in addition to some variations and eventually adding weight (although be aware of how much you are putting on the door frame) I would add in bridge work as that will help build strength in your lower back and and in particular your spinal erectors.

You can, just buy ankle weights and do progressive overload with negatives.

With weights and changing up your grip, yes absolutely you can get a very nice back. You can do the same for chest and tris with weighted dips.

In my xp vertical pulls increase width but not really thickness, which is where horizontal pulls have seemed to work

As far as back goes, all I do is pull ups. I will mix my days up doing either high rep/volume unweighted pull ups or on other days doing lower rep weighted pull ups. Everything is done with a wide grip. Pull ups are the goated exercise and all you need honestly
