    It's moronic. Why do leg raises with a dumbbell to train abs in a complete awkward fashion when there's a perfectly good cruch machine? A sit up with a plate is also a better option.

    I do these in the roman chair and get insane ab doms, never had core doms like that and you can progress it by 5lbs per weak or even 2.5lbs if you want
    nobody gives a frick that your shoes are going on the dumbbell
    and all the people trash talking loading leg raises have never done them or are too weak to do them, they are S-tier ab workout

        you place the dumbbell vertically on the floor before you begin, then you get in position and just pinch the handle in the center of your feet and the bell-end will sit ontop of your foot, it's very easy to keep in place. It should be something that one would intuitively do without instruction or even having to think. You tried tying it?

          When I lift my legs basically even knee ups I tend to go all the way showing my ass from in the front which causes my ankles to turn a different degree then the dumbell slipping, yes I tied a robe around each top of my foot on my shoe and put 10 pounds on the under side of my shoe and tried that way. It only works for like 20 pounds or less before it's slipping all over the place. Basically I'm saying is it possible I can put a 50 pound dumbell for this leg lift.

    I do it, I have my bar at home and weights. this is actually a pretty good exercise for the iliopsoas and pain relief in general. my back ache pretty much gone and I have noticed an improvement in balance when doing board sports.
