Canned Food?

I can't find any conclusive evidence in search. Is canned food good for you? It tastes horrible tbh but if it's nutritious I'll find some way to make it palatable

If you guys have sources that'd be good too

I cant tell if this is poor people food but its very convenient. All you have to do is heat it up and eat it or mix it in with something else.
I used to eat canned peaches, tangerines, and pineapples a lot when I was younger. And yes I was poor as frick back in grade school.

Canned food is stupid high in sodium unless you specifically buy the (usually more expensive) stuff that is.
Depending on how you feel about BPA canned food could be terrible as well.
Pressure canned foods are exposed to higher temperatures which denature more vitamins.

Are you putting the can directly on the stove or something? Or is your house under immense pressure?

Just google it. BPA is what I'm talking about just like the other anon said. You can have it in moderation but if it's all you're eating you're in trouble

There are plenty of BPA cans now.

In the US most canned food are fine. Read the nutrition labels and make sure you don't buy the super shitty ones that are extremely high in sodium and you're fine. I also like canned foods because I lost my can opener and have since learned how to effectively open cans with just a knife and it feels cool tbh

I tried some canned mushrooms but will go back to just using fresh. Wasn't even much cheaper. Only benefit is longer shelf life.

everyone needs to have canned food for 2-3 weeks for when shtf
but otherwise you shouldn't eat the stuff at all, too much sodium

Those food supply buckets are overpriced and usually count drinks as servings.
        The Readywise shows

Canned is just a means of processing food, and there is nothing inherently unhealthy about canning (it helped Napoleon supply his troops against the germs for example). It is more expensive though, and expensive is bad for your health since it means you can't buy as high quality or quantity food.

It's a bit of a learning curve but canning in pretty great. I like to keep sloppy Joe's, chili, soup bases, and meat sauces for instant meals where, you only have to cook a starch with it at most. Tons of bad info out there like saying you can't can meat or low acid foods. Disregard all the government health information

Certified goy slop, even poor people consume on a necessity basis.

Preserved whole foods with minimal processing are fine from a can
    Tuna
    Sardines
    Beans
    Peas
    Corn
It's when you are eating whole meals out of a can you have to question what you are eating
