Food portions. Portion sizes in Japan are extremely small compared to the amount of food Amerisharts eat in a sitting.

Sooo all that really matters is CICO?

No they eat much less sugar. Not all calories are equal

CICO only works if you can keep it up. High carb diets with less than 10% fat suppress appetite. Keto frens also claim to experience this on high protein high fat diets. Though all the keto people I know are now fatter than ever because they for some reason all have massive cheat days where they do off their supposedly perfect diet that keeps them always satiated.

Best diet is low carb (not keto, ~100g carbs), one meal a day if you can fit all the necesary calories in one meal, which you should if you're eating mostly fat, unless you're a literal giant eating whole villages of animals every meal.

Not a ketogay, but mercury in diet. Obesity isn't from overeating, but steatosis from malnutrition. It's diseased thermogenic tissue, not fat storage. (that is the omentum)

Lead deficiency. Not directly related to obesity, only commonly occurs with it.

When I want to go on a major cut, my main foods are grapes and apples - two of the highest percentage fructose foods there are. By keto scripture I am now blind, diabetic, obese, in terminal renal failure, heart attacks and basically almost dead after a few days of this. Yet a few months later when I do it I am extremely low body fat, underweight, not hungry, feel incredibly good, it's the easiest way possible to lose weight, only thing I would change now is add some protein to avoid losing muscle. That is the only reason not to go near 100% carb. Look up anyone on a grape or fruitarian diet and they will be immaculately thin, look up anyone on a keto diet and apart from a few guys they use as examples they will be fat, bald, heart attack, suffering, and so on.

    >"But how could it possible be that what these people say is all such utter garbage, how come it possibly be that way, now come on anon, they have science!"
I don't know man it's crazy. They are looking at some simplistic theories they have, but yeah I don't understand how they can be so blind and follow this thing. There could be some phenomenon that if you're already diabetic, THEN maybe your body can't deal with carbs so then maybe limiting carbs would be a good thing. Other than that, complete garbage.

      >italians eat pasta every meal
well, yes, almost? of course not literally every single meal, but it's literally THE staple Italian food, and even beside that they have a lot of bread / pastries in their diet. I read Italians even take pasta with themselves on their trips, they even screech when there are pasta shortages.
and same with Japan and rice. you'd be moronic to say Japanese don't eat rice much. have you even seen what they eat? do you know why most people there own rice cookers? you know how many of their staple dishes center around rice? how their whole culture revolved around rice picking? even if you find someone who doesn't, they still eat soba, or wheat noodles, etc—guess who invented instant noodles back in the day.
their diet is not high carb / low fat, but it has more than enough carbs in it and it certainly doesn't fit the definition of "keto". yet those nations are quite thin (Italy by EU standards, Japan by general standards). that was the whole point.
but this makes ketogays seethe, so they they will immediately start their mental gymnastics and claim that "Italians / Japanese eat very little carbs, so ackshually it's keto".

        >i've read
So you havent actually been to Italy or spoken to an Italian, right.
Half of my family are Italian and they dont eat pasta often at all. They mainly eat shellfish and roasts.
Japanese also dont just eat rice lmfao, I've been to Japan and you really have no idea. There is so much meat there its more than the west.

then you cherrypicked some weirdos, I don't know who the frick only eats shellfish, maybe in your ketofogged brain these people exist, but statistics and common sense tell you otherwise
          >According to Statista, in 2014, the average Italian ate 90 grams of bread every day. As of 2017, Italians consumed an average of 24 kilograms of pasta per year, with 63% of Italians saying they eat pasta every day.
and of course, Mediterranean diet is based on what they eat, it's the same evil food pyramid that USDA satanic cult brainwashed Americans into eating
          >Japanese also dont just eat rice lmfao
lmfaoooo they do, moron. not only rice of course, but it's still a staple.
see: https://www.statista.com/statistics/995400/japan-daily-carbohydrate-intake-male-population-by-age-group/ — Japanese males on average consumed around 270g of carbs a day.
as for meat, please. Americans never went light on meat. I'm not saying Japan eats less or more of it, but there has even been a period in history when they barely ate any. guess when they started eating tofu, natto, etc. which are still staples.

          >how can ketogays explain this?
They're not carb based, most of their cals come from fat, specially in italy. They use olive oil for everything and they still do low carb (under 150g carbs). In japan in particular, they walk alot in those crowded cities, cause cars are pretty much useless.

          >low carb (under 150g carbs)
          >"A daily limit of 0.7 to 2 ounces (20 to 57 grams) of carbohydrates is typical with a low-carb diet"
          >"The ketogenic diet typically reduces total carbohydrate intake to less than 50 grams a day—less than the amount found in a medium plain bagel—and can be as low as 20 grams a day."
"150g?? well it's ackshually keto because it just is ok? it has to fit my narrative or otherwise it's not true"

Anyway, you're referring as ''italian'' to the hypercab italian american cuisine.
Our traditional cuisine is based on oil, vegetables, fish and fruits and then carbs
