            Maybe you saw people saying high carb diets are more likely to make you fat and they absolutely are. Sugar stimulates hunger, while fats and protein tends to make you achieve that full feeling much more quickly, hence making you eat less typically. Eating 1,000 calories of ice cream cake is pretty easy, 1,000 calories of salmon is almost impossible by comparison.

      That's the thing though you eat protein you won't be "hungry" but you won't feel satiated either but if you eat predominantly carbs every 3 hours you won't get fat and you will actually feel normal and have energy. Unlike on some dumb protein max diet where you are just inefficiently turning most of it into carbs anyway

    I’ve lost close to 30 lbs since March 30 with CICO and basically doing no significant physical activity to speak of other than basic daily stuff. I’ve also lost 80lbs with keto in the past, but if I look back at that and compare it to my results with CICO now, I realize the keto eating habits were also just creating a calorie deficit. People make losing weight way more complicated than it needs to be and they mindfrick themselves out of losing any. Just get over the first few weeks of feeling weird about eating under caloric maintenance and your mind will adapt. I just drink a ton of ice water and replaced sweet snacks with real fruit. Really hard to overeat real fruit.

    Asians don't eat that much rice. In Korea it's eaten after you eat the main meal. It comes in small bowls. Koreans don't eat sugar and cakes etc or at least it's not in their tradition food. They eat fruit after a meal. They drink water after eating. They drink a lot of tea.

    The way the West eats carbs is totally different. And also carbs are fine as long as you burn them off. David Beckham would have a fridge full of chocolate bars for energy.

    Eating an excess of calories makes you fat. It is VERY easy to do this while eating carbs. That's it. There's nothing inherent about carbs that makes you magically fatter. Eating more makes you fatter, and carbs are the easiest thing to eat more of.

    It's near impossible to get fat from rice. 1 cup of cooked rice is only 240 calories - most people would struggle to eat much more rice that that.

    so even a cup of rice at each meal still sees you well under your calories for the day. you'd literally need to eat a bucket load of rice to exceed your daily calorie limit

      1 cup of rice is not very much at all. Very easy to eat a rice cooker full of rice in a day if not in a single sitting and pack on a ton of calories. Rice is not satiating except for twinks and asians who are more ancestrally acclimated to rice.

      For most people rice is negative satiation, especially if you add butter/oil and make it super addictive. It is not a good food for getting or staying lean, but only tastes good.
