CARBS

There is literally NOTHING wrong with carbs if you are an active guy and eat them to fuel your lifting and cardio. If you look at actual athletes and their diets, you will see they eat a ton of carbs.
KETO is mostly an excuse for lazy fat fricks (with no self control) to stuff their fat faces with bacon and burgers

Eat carbs if you actually want to lift heavy and also enjoy running/cycling/swimming/whatever

Agree but glucose, dextrose and starches/polysaccharide chains only

Sucrose, fructose and galactose are garbage shit

      Anonymous

Depends on the carbs you eat. Modern day bread is garbage tier, completely processed. Bread usually only takes about 6 ingredients to make, nowadays it's more than you can count.
Carbs are good if you expend the energy you gain from it. If you sit on your ass and eat carbs all day, you're basically giving yourself a lot of energy and then a dip for no reason.
TLDR if you don't lift and you have an office job / easy going job with little to no physical labor, living off fats is more sustainable and you'll probably feel better.
If you want to bodybuild, yes carbs + protein + fats are kino.

Yes, those are all things your body needs to operate effectively. And since your body is required to work to break down an apple to get at its sugar, it doesn't have the same ill effects you get from processed sugars like hfcs that the body absorbs instantly.

Inflammation apparently. Also the fact of getting tired after eating and experiencing energy level shifts throughout the day. If you can find me a carb diet that is non-inflammatory that would be pretty good. I've tried carnivore and had steady energy levels all day every single day. That alone has improved my quality of life so dramatically that I don't want to go back.

If you could show me a diet with carbs in it that doesn't make me sleepy randomly and also after eating then I would eat carbs.

keto also causes insulin resistance in the long run, basically fat clogs the insulin receptors. There aren't any weird tricks really one way or the other, there's always a balance.

Also too much fat is really hard on your liver, and you end up overproducing bile to break it all down, and the waste product is really bad for your colon.

At the end of the day, there aren't any long-lived, healthy populations that drink fat all day. Eskimos die relatively young. Too much omega-3 is worse than not enough, because you need a certain level of inflammation in your body for critical functions. There aren't any weird tricks at all.

How much "energy" you should consume to warrant such consumption of carbs/calories derived from carbs? Is 1 heavy weights workout every other day enough? Is 1 workout per day enough? 1 workout and 1 cardio session? 1 full marathon a day?

I don't think ketogays are fat because how the frick could you gain weight without carbs? They're either twinks or conveniently aren't talking about how their 6 cheat days and how they're totally gonna get serious with their diet on monday.
All that said, I ain't eating much bread. I feel ten times stronger with just rice and potatoes for carbs.

I'd eat more carbs if I burnt more calories, I'm at 160p, 165c, 85f at 2100 calories a day rn and I only eat meat a few times a weak cuz I'm cheap as heck.

I still have one carb heavy meal a day, but it's be so much easier if I could eat more calories, it'd all go straight to carbs.

It'd also be easier if I just ate more meat lmao

No. Keto is wrong for everyone. Don't eat high-fat diets. Carbohydrates don't convert to fat readily, while fat you eat is fat you wear. In fact the few medicines which are approved for weight-loss work by preventing fat from being absorbed.

Are you implying glucose turns to fructose? It doesn't. Besides saturated fat intake is even higher causation of NAFLD than even fructose. For obvious reason. Gotta pack it somewhere out of bloodstream post-haste to keep system running, might as well pack it to liver and muscle cells causing fatty liver and insulin resistance.

in theory, you can shrink cancer and make it easier to deal with, while slowing down its growth with like a very light vegan diet and high impact exercise. You obviously aren't going to cure cancer though

Carbs are based, however if you have metabolic syndrome, a period of intense therapeutic fasting and keto to reset insulin sensitivity, followed by a gradual reintroduction of healthy carbs, can be very effective.

Actual athletes who eat a lot of carbs have never been fat, and fricked over their metabolic flexibility. People who are overweight/obese should do keto with fairly intense caloric restriction until they reach a healthy BMI. It's a lot easier and psychologically less taxing than eating higher carbs at a deficit, imo.

      Anonymous

Keto doesn't reset insulin sensitivty. Everyone fails oral glucose tolerance test after high-fat diets, and internet is rampant with people wondering why their blood sugars are so high on keto. It causes insulin resistance. There's a reason why ketogays only stare at A1C marker, because that doesn't reveal the diabetes they got as long as they keep doing low-carb diet. Everything else does.

Being fat caused diabetes. Only link with sugar is that sugar makes ppl fat if more is consumed than burned off. Free fatty acids in the bloodstream are partly to blame for diabetes but its mainly inflammed fatty tissue that cannot regenerate because there arent enough bloodvessels close to it. The cure for diabetes type 2 is also just to lose weight, if you are not too far gone(in which case you wont lose the weight anyways since ur biblical tier).

I'm not fat but have a slightly high blood glucose and 0.1 over the A1C limit. Just a little protrusion in my belly region and I don't drink soda and rarely have sugar. It's probably all the carbs I eat

          Saturated fat.

What other markers should people be looking at? Personally I don't abide strictly by low carb but mentally I perform much better on low carb and add some carbs prior to workout and I'm wondering if that can induce hyperglycemia if I get carried away.

Fasting blood sugar levels and glucose tolerance. Like I said, keto shills deliberately focus on A1C and don't talk about the other two metrics at all since everyone on prolonged high-fat diets fails those.

The "positive impact" goes away the second you eat a carbohydrate. The benefit is within the boundaries of a chronic diet. It levels out, it doesn't improve the actal functioning of insulin once you do actually have to use it when you eat carbohydrates
