I keep hitting my shins every time I do this
Can I just jump up and down instead? It'll look moronic but it's better than embarassing myself

keep your hands at hip level, my guess is that the more you tire out the more you lift your hands up

How about you try actually learning and improving upon something for once in your life?

Jumping in place isn't very mentally stimulating so it gets boring quick. I'd rather run or play a sport

        rip knees
        rip ankles

You probably believe some dumb like bending your knee all the way will damage it. Dumbasses really believe that

          >You probably believe some dumb like bending your knee all the way will damage
          Selectively true.
Hideous fatties have a layer of fat on their thighs and calves.
When they go down the fat doesn't move out of the way, it sort of stops them from bending, but also adds a lever action pressure increase on their knee.
Like the top of the shin moves away from the bottom of the thigh bone so there's more of a gap behind the knee cap.

Fat people won't tell you this.
I won't draw it for you.

    >the ultimate form of cardio
It depends on what your goal is. Weightloss? Conditioning?

room temperature iq take. considering low catabolic effects of cardio, it serves strict and binary premise - aerobic endurance training. even considering different factors, skipping rope mogs everything hard regarding impact, efficiency, energy expenditure and overall physical stimulation. so case-related optimization is out of question consideri g bounds of OP's question

Why skip rope when I can hop in place? Costs even less than buying the rope.

because it forces good posture and it gives coordination gains which you wouldnt get by just jumping. every. single. jump. rope. thread.

It's probably the most stolen item from the sporting goods/camping section of my local Walmart. I don't know why because I've never seen a Tyrone jumping rope but they're always piles of ripped up packaging from the jump ropes laying on the shelf.

It's a great form of cardio, but no form of cardio is the ultimate. There are pros and cons for all of them.
