I looked at the stats and prices and I don't see any reason I would eat it over some cottagecheese.

Arcane spanish med bull chickpea recipe from my mom incoming:
    >bit of olive oil in the pot, medium heat
    > add chorizo in ~1.5cm thick slices, 50 or 75g per person
    >when frying the chorizo it will add its grease to the pan so take it into account and dont use too much oil
    >when chorizo fried, add garlic and just a bit later a lot of spinach
    >when spinach goes small, add chickpeas and chicken stock/water just to cover it all
    >salt
    >when chickpeas cooked, eat
Really important not to use too much liquid, also add smoked paprika and cumin with the garlic.
Also i use prebaked chickpeas in a bottle like a fricking serf and it still is delicious and low cal.

You add uncooked chickpeas? How long would that take? I liked cooking them in a pressure cooker because it is fast. Takes like 10 minutes.
I grew to love chickpeas originally from hummus, but a slop meal I do is chicken breast, rice, and chickpeas with bbq sauce.

i use the precooked ones that come in glass bottles, i dont know if that exists outside spain. Anyway, those take like 5-10 minutes to be done.
For the traditional method with uncooked ones you would have to soak overnight and then discard the soaking water and boil them on their own until they are tender. Then add chickpeas and boiling water to the other pot. And cook everything together for a few minutes.
The point of soaking is because legumes can be hard on the digestion and soaking them somehow deals with that.
If just puting them in the pressure cooker doesnt give you intestinal problems, it is probably good enough.

Just bring chickpeas to boil in a pot, simmer for 45-60 minutes, then strain. Place in bowl, add mushroom Soisauce, curry powder, oil (which I saved from frying sausages before), pepper, and some mint. 🙂 voila
It’s a very effortless meal and it will fill me up even just having half of it. I usually also cook it with mung beans but I didn’t this time. It’s also really good with diced tomatoes and throwing in some eggs that poach in the tomato.

You might need to add lemon juice to it or also just scrape off the foam that comes with it when boiling.

It's funny, I made a chickpea shwarma recipe a while back on a gym night and had an incredible lift. Well above average, I've been meaning to make the same thing again for dinner and then go lift to see if it happens twice.
