>can do 20 perfect-form, full ROM chinups >cannot do 8 perfect-form pullups
wat gives? i am progressing(can do 10 pullups with 75% ROM) but pronated grip (especially wide grip) feels so unnatural to me
Inverted rows would help a lot if your upper back is weak as they're more specific to pullups than other rowing variations due to also being a calisthenics exercise
Got 8 reps with + 10 kg today, neutral grip. What are impressive numbers on this, maybe +25? I'm on +25 on dips, but I estimate something over +40 might be impressive
They are easy, but I never see people doing them, let alone with weights. Even dips, I'm not strong, but I've honestly not seen someone out dip me in the 15 months i've been at the gym.
I've only seen dyelish skinny people do calisthenics at my gym, weighted calisthenic lifters are still approaching 1/2/3/4 by what I can see but not quite there yet. I don't think heavy lifters focus on these.
I did weighted chins 40kg for 6 reps on chins & my arms were 13.5 inches. CHINUPS FOR BICEPS IS A FRICKING LIE.
I've just hit 15 inches after incorporating real direct arm work.
If you get big biceps from chins, you were going to get big biceps no matter what.
No, that'd be insane strength for 40kg additional weight for 6 reps, I did chin over bar.
But chest to bar, despite being harder, would bias the lats more & the biceps even less so I can't see that as a solution
>Literally ALL you need for big biceps. Post a better biceps excercise, YOU CAN'T
except 90% of people can't do a single chinup ahahahahahhahahahaha
Bullshit. Im 180lbs fat and I can do 5 chinups in a row.
Just do lat pulldowns with a narrower, supine grip
This. Especially powershitters lmfao.
Post your 14 inch arms
I'm a fat frick weighing 240lbs and I can do 5 with a full stretch
I do these all the time and you need hammerhead curls and ez bar to activate all portions of the bicep,
My shoulder hurts like shit whenever I try a chin up/ pull up now. Tendonitis is a b***h.
try using bands and going for high reps

Weak lats
Pullups are simply a more difficult exercise
true
not lats, but yes i think upper mid section of my back is probably weak. what should i do? doing more pullups i guess?

thanks
Weak upper back. Pullups are more upper back (due to elbow flare), while chinups are more lats (humerus closer to body + external rotation)
I yet to meet a person who can do more pull ups than chin ups, I think I'm one of the very few
Chinups are a lat-biased back exercise, they're very mediocore for biceps. Incline curls mog the shit out of chinups for biceps.

Chinups are easy af 45lbs on the belt is basic

Wrong form to bias the biceps
>tfw can't do chinups because gym has a moronic bar
my elbow gets stiff and cracks while doing them. Doesn't feel good.
What to change?
Drink more milk
Close-grip chinups.

Did you do the chinups with full range of motion(chest touching the bar)?
