I'm a massage therapist who works at a chiropractors. Chiropracty is honestly bs go get a proper massage. Acupuncture can be effective as well but if the 3 I'd recommend massage the most.

      Can you say why
Don't you align spines and shit?
Whereas massage just temporarily makes you feel good

Not the guy you're responding to but a lot of chiropracty essentially is just exploiting the tendency of the human body to release natural numbing / painkiller compounds when a part of the body suddenly reaches maximum flexion. So when they "adjust" your spine they're basically just rapidly flexing it as far as it will move in one direction which triggers your brain to make the area feel good.
Does it actually fix anything long term? Not really.
That said, some of the massage stuff they do, physio-like things they recommend, and those little electro-stimulation pads can sort of help unfrick your muscles that support your spine and posture.

This. A good massage followed by stretching is very effective. Typically I recommend getting a few massages (I typically ask people to give me at least 3 sessions) and recommend different stretches so they can keep it up at home. That's really the key. I can break up knots and reduce tension, but unless you take the time to stretch it out or change the habit that's causing the issue it'll come right back. Hope this helps op.

            It does

If we don't have knots what was that other homosexual talking about. I remember seeing a simple video on YouTube before about how knots form. Could never find anything about it again

"Alining spines" is bullshit. You know when you crack your knuckles and it feels good? Chiropractors just do that to every muscle. They don't fix anything, actually they literally can't fix anything, even in the best case. Most likely is they cause intense pain that releases endorphins, like Chinese massage. Go to a physiotherapist if you want the problem to get fixed.

      >Acupuncture can be effective as well
Acupuncture is as bunk as chiropractic.

I've seen it make a difference, but it also appears to be very hit or miss.

do both, but with chiropractic you need to understand that the chiropractor is not going to fix your long term dysfunction. They can set your bones in the right spot, but if the dysfunction is not treated, they will just settle back into the bad position.

If you have bone problems, the physical therapist will utilize the same principles as the chiropractor does, the only difference is that the physical therapist will utilize your own body biomechanics to set everything back in place. This treatment is most apparent with pelvic physios, and they will basically do the same thing to your pelvis as a chiro would.

After the chiro, you should do things like face pulls and banded pull aparts with your shoulders, and do 4 way hip with your legs.

Acupuncture is hit or miss because sometimes it hits the right spots, dry needling has much more science backing it up.

What's the difference between dry ending and acupuncture. Its both going in

acupuncture is placing a needle in your hand to deal with a pain in your back, dry needling is placing a needle in the muscle in your back that is painful.

    >bad posture/form leads to muscle tension
    >"just get a massage bro, it'll fix the root issue"
Bullshit, do you honestly think you have actual "knots" in your muscles? As in your muscle tissue is somehow fricked up? Getting some manual therapy isn't a bad idea to help with recovery, but all of it (including chiropractic manipulations) is a temporary fix, you have to actually work out your shoulder and back properly if you want to fix your problem. Work out your rotator cuff and upper back, fix your posture throughout the day (no slouching over your computer) and keep at it for a few months and you might fix the issue. Accupuncture is a mixed bag, but studies showed it's efficacy for shoulder pain, so it's not a bad idea, but there's no passive fix to issues like that, you have to do the work

I had biceps tendon slipped out of the growe while benching with wide grip. Igned the doctors tat sually do a surgery in such case and listened to hyropractics that advice simply to put it back in. Worked fine. Now benching 100 kg for one rep. But never do it with a wide grip.
I had pain in my back. Felt like a tight muscle not on the surface. Went to thw massage and just in one 30 min session got a relief. That muscle never was tight again. No pain either.
So both of them have their place.
If you just dislocated shoulder, hyropractics are fine.
If it's just tight muscle, massage is fine.
If it's something serious, you need a good doctor.
