    How much does dietary cholesterol influence blood cholesterol? Aren't there many other factors that influence blood cholesterol other than dietary cholesterol?

      It's mostly genetics. But eating processed shit and too many fried increases cholesterol more than dietary cholesterol

    your image explains everything, if the cholesterol you ingest promotes ldl, it will contribute to plaques , if you ingest food that promotes hdl nothing will happen , the total amount of cholesterol doesnt matter much its the ratio between the 2 types that does. it should be noted however that if heart disease runs in your family changing your diet will likely not completely prevent cardiovascular disease completely, it will slow its progress , but it will not stop its formation, since ultimately your cholesterol ratios are regulated by your body and diet can only offset it so much.

      LDL is not "bad". It's just a type of energy transport lipid. Everything about this thread is fricking moronic pseudo science. Atherosclerosis is fundamentally caused by chronic inflammation damaging arterial walls causing cholesterol to be sent to repair the damage and get stuck in place. People with low inflammatory markers don't get heart disease, this is why so many carnivores are getting low CAC scores and so many vegans have strokes.

      Like, all of this cholesterol stuff was debunked decades ago and the actual results of the Minnesota experiment (on which all of the pseudo science is based) were found hidden in a basement about 10 years ago because they contradicted the entire narrative. Here:

    you're overthinking it OP. your picrel is all you need to know. the stuff you were taught as a kid still applies: get the good unsaturated fats/HDL like nuts, beans, avocados, olive oil, fish and whole grain. avoid the bad saturated fats/LDL which come from animal fats, dairy, fried food and processed food. obviously you're going to slip up and eat the bad stuff from time to time but overall it's fine as long as you don't go full keto like an idiot.
