Clomid

Doc wants to put me on clomid for low testosterone. Does anyone have any experience with it? Seems like it's a pretty mixed bag when it comes to the reviews.

How low is low? Why not just get testosterone?

Mine is 141, I guess low average starts at 175? I don't want my balls shrinking, because the doc said they never go back. So he recommended clomid to avoid that.

        Your balls don't physically shrink

That's literally what testicular atrophy is. I wish I had stats on rarity and percentahe of shrinkage though.

Low starts at 300. 141 is low. That's where mine was pretrt. I felt a difference within minutes of the first injection

I'm just a meathead, but doesn't clomid nuke your estrogen levels? I believe estrogen is important for libido and heart health. I think I rather take test.

Doc actually said that as test rises, so does estrogen. If estrogen increases too much, then the clomid dose is reduced, or another med is added to control increased estrogen.

It's a SERM. It stops estrogen binding to select areas, but doesn't lower e2 itself. E2 is used as feedback for the body to reduce LH and FSH. Serms help up FSH and LH due to how they work.

Clomid monotherapy is a solid first course of action and can fix low T without need for life long injections in many people.

If it doesnt help, usually then trt is tried. Depends on primary or secondary hypogonadism though

I dont know much about clomid, but I wouldnt trust any new or synthetic "side effect free" roid. You should probably just stick to test. Or just try to increase your levels naturally. Do you squat and deadlift heavy every week? Is your diet good? Are you getting enough vitamin D? Likely your issue is environmental.

It's technically a drug used to treat fertility issues, it just happens to also cause a moderate rise in test. The only reason I didn't want injections is to avoid testicular atrophy. The doc said that once they atrophy, they don't come back. Also, once you're taking test injections, your body stops making test, which causes the ball shrinkage. I wouldn't give a shit if my balls weren't already kind of small.

if you eat the whole pack all at once you deserve to go blind. it is absolutely safe when you take a normal dose

No shit, that was the biggest concern. He said if vision became dim to stop the med. It's supposedly rare, but still.

Made me feel like shit and offered limited improvement. But it's a good first shot effort. Nolvadex may work if sides are too intense with clomid. If neither work time to pin

testosterone isnt everything too. Ive had some deppression and just lifes been shitty for a few years. I was positive i was low T. I went and got tested and was shocked when my test levels were around 550. would love to get up to around 750-1000 tho. But at 30 yr old, i doubt its possible natty and everything I hear, 32-33 is when it really starts to tank for most guys

I have permanent eye floaters from trying clomid prior to TRT.

The stuff will give you awful mood swings as well.

hCG is a much better option.

No fricking way a doctor is gonna risk off label use for some homosexual with low t. If this is something you personally want to try, just say that. Tamoxifen works better and has fewer sides. Also despite what fraudsters will tell you, you only need 20 mg. That said, they are temporary solutions. I there was already something fricking up your T levels, it’s just gonna mask it. The reason it’s used for PCT is to speed up recovery that was gonna happen anyway. It’s not a solution for fixing low t.

Do people in this thread lift? What made you want to get checked for low t? I'm 35 and getting back in shape but am curious if I should just get checked at the Dr anyways.

My very first sign was my muscles not being as hard, even though it was still lifting. I look bigger now than when I first noticed it, amd they're still softer than I feel they should be. That started me down the path of what it could be, and one google search listed low test as being a possible cause. I'm 37, and I meet a lot of the criteria, so I went with a Hone test, which I just bought because it was on sale for 45 bucks. Then I followed the steps in the kit.

Not hard? I dont want to misdiagnose myself. I'm lifting again after a several year break and am quickly gaining my strength back but my muscles aren't that hard and I have always had annoying stubborn belly fat even when I cut really hard and I looked like fricking skeletor in my face. Did you do one of the saliva ones that just measures free test or whatever?

I found theres a lab in town that does it for $70 for total test. I may just do it and see what I'm dealing with.

You might as well get one that measure free test not just total.

Mine was an at home blood test. It measured total test, free test, estradiol, a few others.

It’s fricking $13 plus a draw fee on ulta labs. You don’t even need a doctor. If it’s borderline low, I’d get the free test and SHBG after but really total test should b all you need.

Shit man good looking on ulta labs its $28+8 for me but there's a few in town. Beats $70

They are trash with their listings. They often list several of the same tests at different prices. Or they have a package that’s much cheaper. Or it’s the same package without the discount applied. Google “ulta labs 12.95” and it’s on the list of 30 labs. Don’t use the search function. I literally just did it to confirm. Also if you ever get anything else from them, if a test is full priced just google for their coupons and usually you get at least 20% off. I got 50% off last time on test, free test, and shbg.

Bro you need actual trt. Clomid is just a bandaid fix that won't do anything but put stress on your liver in the long term. I'm not even one of the guys to shill trt but 140 is fricking looooooow.

    Clomid or Enclomiphine?
Clomid doesn't do shit but stim your hypothalamus to talk to your pituitary. Yes it will raise your test levels but it's better than having a swollen prostate from injections.
