I like hack squats but prefer the Hammer Strength machine for it. Plus with hack squats, you're not limited by balance and your back, which allows you to push harder on legs.

You should be able to body squat with your heels on the ground. While squatting or oly lifting, many people use raised heel shoes. iirc it improves leverages, increasing the weight you can lift.
If you have shit mobility try low bar squatting.
Yeah, it's fine. You don't get much of the benefits to the core and stabilisers as you would with a barbell squat, but if for some reason you cannot do any variation of the barbell squat then there's no shame in using the squat machine.
