I do some pretty controlled reps with 35s and I'm not that strong, I'm sure someone more advanced could do the same with 50s.

Aren't you supposed to hunch over a bit and not fully extend your arm but make some sort of L with them, for this exercise?
Or is it a different one?

Not necessarily. You do whatever you happen to feel the greatest connection with.
      Simple as.

Don't make an L, bend your arms like 10 degrees to allow for some freedom of movement in either direction, it's alot safer on your joints to not fully lock them when they're bearing weight

I lean forward a little and do what's essentially a halfway between a lateral raise and front raise. I think it hits the side delts better.

It'll be very easy to reach 35lbs. It will take 2 years at the extreme end

It's a pretty fricking small muscle group and you're already at an intermediate level so I would expect it to take a long time, 3-4 years is a long time though so maybe idfk I do 20s for sets of 15

Well the weight doesn't matter I suppose, nobody cares what you can lateral raise. If what I'm doing now is intermediate that's a bit worrying since I look completely DYEL still

                Anonymous

Again, it's a really small muscle group, don't listen to the moron who made that thread saying they are the most important muscle for looking like you lift, I'd say they're one of the least important. What are your stats in the big 3?

Squat 130kg x3, DL 160kg x2, I don't do BB bench cause it gives me shoulder pain even with scapular retraction and depression but my incline DB press is 25kg x12. Oh and I OHP 47.5kg for 6

Seems like you have issues with your upper body working properly, I would work on solving those issues as having a functioning shoulder joint is really important for not being DYEL, check out Matt Ogus' videos on shoulder health and workout drills for making shoulders healthier.

Not sure why 35 lb lateral raises is so hard for you to believe, and also not sure why I would lie about how much I can do on such a specific accessory. MMC is way more important. Here's my delt anyway, though. Not posting a vid because I did shoulders yesterday.

35 lbs per hand is easy though. Not something I could do first day in the gym but basically anyone can get to that, and most guys could probably do it faster than me. You just sound like a bitter DYEL. How about you post body?

As for me, it's the leaning variant, both with DBs and cables. Alternate the two and hit side delts 4 times per week. Never any pain and consistently adding reps.

Lean away with cables are what I use too. I read somewhere that they cause more activation as the resistance is constant unlike DBs

Do you add weight or just reps? I do 4x12 but find it crazy hard to add 10lb without dropping my rep range by half.

Adding 10 lbs is a ton, does your gym have any of those little 2.5 lb or 5 lb blocks for cable machines?

          10lbs is not a ton. A ton is 2000lbs.

I am doing those, lu raises, and single arm rear delt raises.
Just started this on my upper days so IDK how great it is but my shoulders seem to like it well enough.

Might try behind the neck press as an alternative to OHP too.
