>costs like measly 5 bucks
>is just as efficient as pretty much every other form of cardio that will cost you 100~1000+ bucks investment starting
>only downside is being high impact, which can be mitigated with technique and form

its moderate to low impact, you aren't jumping properly if its high impact, you need to tighten your glutes and your abs to help absorb the impact. You don't need to jump high either

Rooning only takes $50 for shoes and they can last a year. If you get good shoes, they can last longer than that.

my podiatrist says to buy shoes every 6 months and that's not with running, thats just every day shoes. Running takes a lot of money. You can also just get custom orthotics for about $600 and you can probably get away with cheap $50 shoes then, though

Dafuq you on about? I got a pair of Adidas trail running shoes for like $50, and were good to go right out of the box; who the frick is paying $600 for custom formed orthotic insoles? Running doesn't take a lot of money.

Your podiatrist sounds like a quack. Get a second opinion.

depends on what jump technique you use. the bog standard jump seems to tire me out way faster than doing the boxer step/alternating feet. try doing squat jumps for 50 minutes, i doubt youll be able to

i actually bought a jump rope with extra little weights, and some balls you attach to them to work out in tight space instead of the cord. pretty cool. it also has a counter! i'm excited. last time i used a jump rope was 21 years ago and i couldn't skip for shit. i'm pretty IST now so i know i'll enjoy it as a bit of variety in my workout routine.

can you build muscle with a jump rope? i heard you can get decent abs with it

its good for keeping your abs and glutes engaged throughout the day and as a result of that its good for posture. if you are sitting alot then i guess itl build some muscle in those areas, itl no doubt build your calves. just the posture gains is worth it tho, good posture looks great and is a rarity nowadays

I made a skipping rope in a machine shop, why spend $5 at a sport shop when I could instead spend 8 hours fabricating a stainless steel industrial model that will still be skipping after a nuclear apocalypse?
