Is getting back into chess worth it? Used to intellectually mog kids and even when I was working in my late teens and out of practice I was still comfortably around a mid 1500s level.
The highest rated player of all time, OP pic, lost randomly to a much lower player because that player memorized strategies for the specific line that he tried to play right before the game.

chess is 99% about memorization and 1% about intelligent play. ages ago chess was a game for highly intelligent geniuses but now it's a game for autists who like memorizing things.
Nta, it's true though. Bobby Fischer was obsessed with how to unfrick the game and make it about intelligent play rather than memorization and sequencing. He said chess was dead.
that's why I love Go, you can't really memorize all the variations. If you pick a certain game and ask the top Go players what the best move is, they will all give you different answers, if you do this with Chess, they'll likely give you roughly the same answer. Because of this, you are also activating parts of your brain that you don't during chess. You not only activate the logical analyzing parts of your brain, but also your creative and artistic parts trying to make the move that feels right in the current situation.
It's too bad Go isn't that popular in the west. It really is the superior game
Some situations there are only one good move, but often it's much murkier then that. Even chess engines will often disagree which move is superior. The main thing with memorization is opening preparation, where people will memorize ridiculous amounts of opening theory, but after you exhaust that you have to rely on your actual ability. It is really stupid which is why Fischer invented 960 to avoid all the annoying opening prep. Kinda gives the game an annoying barrier to entry for higher level play.
like the other anon said chess isn't about skill, it's about memorizing patterns and efficency. it's all about le opening moves and it's a solved game. anyone who takes modern chess as a barometer of intelligence is a fool
This. Checkers is the real test of raw intelligence.

Magnus played against Hans Niemann in a tourney a little while ago. Magnus was white and Hans was black. Magnus lost. Afterwards, Magnus withdrew from the tournament. The extremely strong implication of all of Magnus's actions was that he believed Hans cheated at the match, as following Magnus's withdrawal the tourney organisers suddenly put in a shitload more security measures to delay cheating, started using metal detectors, added a 15 minute delay to streamed games, etc. Magnus, however, did not formally accuse Hans of cheating. Nonetheless, rumours abounded and some other lads did some analysis showing that Hans repeatedly plays abnormally well when a game is being livestreamed as opposed to when there is a delay. Hans also was invited to give some commentary on the positions he played in the game and gave some of the most dogshit commentary imaginable, which seemed to heavily imply he had no fricking idea what was going on in the positions. It also surfaced that Hans previously cheated in private online games some years ago. Anyway, this seemed to be settled when the tourney organisers said that they hadn't received any evidence of cheating and that no official complaint was made.
After all the occurred, Hans met Magnus again in an ongoing tourney. Magnus played one move and then immediately resigned, giving the game to Hans. The implication again is that Magnus still thinks that Hans is a cheater and doesn't want to play him.
However, Magnus STILL has not made any statements on the matter and the entire chess world is basically telling him to shit or get off the pot, because at this point is just looks like Magnus wants to ruin the other guy's career, and he hasn't given any details as to why.
Magnus also played an opening he has only played once in an obscure match, and Hans was somehow perfectly prepared for it and responded perfectly. This usually requires preparation/practicing typical openings of your opponents, but is unlikely this opening was prepared for. Magnus losing to Hans when Hans is black is also absurd. Also Hans is a known cheater, and its a huge psychological disadvantage to play against someone you know is a cheater, and then also suspect them of cheating when they suddenly respond perfectly to your obscure opening. It is said that Magnus started playing like one would against a computer to confirm his suspicions.
Also Hans got banned from chess.com and Magnus definetely got info about it from chess.com since his company and chess.com is partnered up/merged, so he probably knows more than the public.
so he's full (or mostly) German then?
i was thrown off by the surname and curly hair
but if what you say is true, then i like him much more now
already liked him before, but if it turned out he was israeli then i would of course instantly hate him
it makes sense though that he isn't israeli, as he'd already be propelled to front and center and praised endlessly by israeli handlers if he was
How the hell is he cheating? Ear piece? Pocket computer? I assume he's got a partner feeding the game into a computer and feeding him back the moves so essentially it's playing against an algo?
Unclear as to how he is cheating at the moment, if at all. But there's definitely some fishy shit going on.
Pic related shows Niemann's performance in tourneys between 2019 - 2020. He is apparently a significantly stronger player when games are broadcast live vs when there is a delay, and the gap is consistent and pronounced. Helluva coincidence if it is one.
The theory is that he had a wifi buttplug that someone viewing on live stream signaled which move to make.
What is this autism?? This is in no way a serious theory that was created. Eric Hansen (chessbrah) made a joke about this on stream and then it blew up on whatever moronic social media. There is no one with a functioning brain who ever theorized this.
>The theory is that he had a wifi buttplug that someone viewing on live stream signaled which move to make.

at GM level, you don't need to be fed every move to cheat and win, with experienced players, if you give them just one move at the right time, they can win with that.
So it's substantially much easier to cheat as a GM because the cue can be very subtle and happen only once or twice per game.

Based Magnus for outing the cheating zoomer mutt. Its the same old story no matter the sport if there is money involved there will always be cheaters looking for a upperhand
kek even Kasparov, Karpov etc. said that there was nothing suspicious about the game, Magnus just played extremely bad
Magnus just threw a hissy fit and is a terrible loser
> be magnus > be GOAT, but chess is chess, still lose to strong up-and-coming young players every now and then > has lost many times while playing "extremely bad" > never react in any moronic way > lose to Hans Mutt Niemann, known chess.com cheater, banned from huge events on the site
Time will tell if Magnus is a schizo or if Hans is actually doing something suspicious. Magnus has never done something this drastic before, even though he has taken some hard losses to young players before.
there are dozens of prodigies that have gotten banned for online cheating, people play against them all the well
magnus just lost and sperged out like spergs do
hans is based and the chess speaks for itself
>The opponent was wearing a remote vibrating butt plug that was sending him signals from an accomplice about what moves to make
Ligga like how?
Only way I can imagine is that the butplugg's vibration frequency would increase while having his hand closer to the right pawn or position on the board.
But then Hans would have suffer an insane amount of vibration erecting his prostate that he would ejaculate multiple times during a match just like those femboys on /gif/ . >maybe this would explain his weird behovior "let the cumstains speak for themselves" after his victory over MAGnus.
Lmao at the americans defending Hans Niemann. He’s a cheater and it doesn’t matter if he cheated against Magnus or not. Why would you even play against someone who has abused the rules of the game before? If anything, Magnus is the only one with balls who dare to take a stand against immorality.
What’s so hard to understand?
In short: Norwegians are based, americans not. Deal with it.
Magnus is assblasted because the israelites of the chess world colludied with the israelite kid to dethrone him in a flimsy set up
is also why he isnt defending WC, he knows the game is rigged
Actual chess player (highest elo was 2000) here. In my opinion, there is no way in hell that kid played the way he did against magnus. It seemed so unnatural that even I as a novice notice it. Also, for the people itt wondering how hard it is to cheat in chess, you can go into your mobile phone AppStore right now and find a good dozen of engines that the world champion wouldn’t be able to beat even with pawn odds
That’s the problem with chess, due to the layout of the board it’s very easy to cheat with even the smallest signs. You have 8 horizontal and 8 vertical fields, so all you have to communicate is a number between 1 and 8 twice. If you use binary code, it’s only half that even. You can have something vibrating on you body (which is why the buttoning theory is actually plausible), someone could blink or twitch his fingers to sign it to you, etc
he had a receiver on his body somewhere
inb4 scanners and muh signal jammers
I don't know why people still do not consider the possibility that he's not acting alone
a shitload of FIDE crooks would love to see Magnus beaten down for that sweet WWE effect, drama and ad revenue that comes with it
what if hans has autistically studied bad / off moves that engines don't particularly know or aren't the go to GM moves and then has studied ways to win based off of those bad / strange moves?
essentially the way that high level chess and go players play against top level bots to beat them. He's essentially playing to beat what the top players probably regularly study, which are moves that engines tend to make. There's also a psychological component to this, since he's cheated in the past. So he makes a strange move which the opponent sees as strange and because it's strange thinks its a cheat move and then is thrown off.
>There's also a psychological component
why do people spread this disinfo? There was no such thing in the first game they played, Hans admitted to online cheating in an interview post Magnus withdrawal from the tournament
Magnus' company partners with chess.com, so it is likely he was given info about hans even before their first match. Chess.com came out with a statement saying Hans cheated much more than what he admitted to, which means they likely have much more dirt on him and that's why they banned him.
so why ban him only after Magnus' outrage and not before?
that's bullshit
They'd come up with that shit before Magnus even signed the fricking contract to play the first game
there's a difference between evidence of cheating online and then evidence of cheating during a OTB tournament.
It wouldn't look very good for them to just ban him and shitfling before there was even more evidence of cheating by him making weird moves during a OTB tournament.
Anonymous
but it does look good for him to face someone you suspect to be a cheater and get your ass whooped, knowing you'll likely be unable to prove that shit happened?
lol
they didn't suspect shit about hans before the first game and saying anything else is speculative bullshit
2 years ago
Anonymous
But it further proves that he's a cheat. It just adds to the evidence.
If we didn't have him going up against magnus and winning and then subsequent weird analysis of his game against magnus, there would be much less evidence of him cheating OTB.
Why do you think Magnus values a single game that is lost against a cheater? Don't you think it's more valuable to chess as a whole, in Magnus' eyes, to build evidence against a cheater and get them banned from in person tournaments as well?
I really don't understand what you mean by this.

All I see is speculative bullshit on your part, and then some more stacked on top of it like a jenga shitpile
you're asserting some 6D chess fanfic how Carlsen knew all along that Hans is a cheater and how he played him despite that (also didnt apparently voice his concern to tourney holders to up their security or hell even oversee it himself because he probably fricking could)
occam's fricking razor anon: magnus smelled bullshit, further investigation was performed, chess.com acted on that investigation and issued the ban
again, there was no muh psychology pressure during the first game because you can't prove magnus knew shit or that chess.com was initially suspect of Hans to begin with
I don't understand why would you autistically push a literal fricking fanfic lmao
2 years ago

>further investigation was performed
Except that it wasn't. Magnus quite quickly came out and made the twitter post that implied Hans was cheating. The same thing with chess.com. Do you think it only takes a couple hours for chess.com to pour over games from a GM on their website and determine without a shadow of a doubt that he cheated?

the point being that a cursory analysis of hans' games does not reveal cheating, which means it takes a much deeper dive, a dive that cannot be completed in a matter of hours for magnus and chess.com to accuse hans of cheating which means they likely had previous evidence of him cheating and their suspicions were confirmed with his game against magnus

They have evidence of cheating online, they did not have evidence of cheating OTB
There's a clear distinction between cheating online when money's not involved and cheating OTB where money is involved. Do you not understand how cheating in these types of games is found out? Do you honestly think they'll find a device?
[...]
>Do you think it only takes a couple hours for chess.com to pour over games
This is also bullshit, on the side note
chess.com banned him 2 days later
Magnus smelled bullshit during and imminently after the game
So yes, there was obviously a further investigation performed
Chess.com banned him after he said in his interview he only cheated twice before.

>money's not involved
pretty sure he played in a few tournaments online which included monetary compensation, in the past 2 years
You keep spinning in circles with more assumptions and more bullshit >Do you honestly think they'll find a device?
So why did Magnus play him then? According to you they had evidence, but they also didnt - they wanted to catch him... but also couldnt
Are you a literal fricking schizo lmao >Chess.com banned him after he said in his interview he only cheated twice before.
According to your fanfics, once again >chess.com was already well acquainted with Hans' cheating career as a result of their in depth investigations before STL game >they had ample evidence which warranted allegedly warning Magnus >but for whatever the fricking reason, instead of acting on it beforehand, they did so only after the saint louis game with Magnus, making it seem as if Carlsen strongarmed them into doing it
You still fail to realize how moronic this is? Just drop the fanfic bullshit dude

chess.com knew he cheated way more than he admitted to, so yes, as you're implying, he won online tournaments while he was also suspected of cheating.
And it's literally in their post, can't you read?
Anonymous
what? that only proves they didn't have shit, or at least nothing tangible like I've been saying all along, and that only the analysis post first game might've given them some sort of an idea how/when he cheated. This cements the idea that he was for all intents and purposes invisible until he himself admitted to cheating
just because you keep tossing random shit around doesn't meant it makes logical sense
2 years ago
Anonymous
now you combine the knowledge with the fact that engines designed specifically to catch cheaters have said that he plays normally, which means they had to manually go through all his games and see if he was cheating, this isn't something you can do within the span of a day.
Anonymous
>this isn't something you can do within the span of a day.
yeah, you do it in a span of 3 days since that's how long it actually took
it's not even a big feat when you got entire team magnus on it + shitload of other people at chess.com
either way you failed to explain why would they not act on the evidence all this time, try to 6d chess orchestrate over the board to catch the guy... yet not actually up the security measures to prevent the cheating from happening to begin with
unless you can tangibly prove stuff beyond pure speculation and fanfics the story stands as it's officially assumed- magnus had no knowledge of niemman's cheating during their st louis game
a few weeks before that, back in august, giri even shared the photo of them playing chess on the beach lmao
2 years ago
Anonymous
The simple answer is that they did not have enough evidence to accuse him of cheating. Like I said, you don't seem to understand how cheaters are caught in games like this. They're likely not going to find a device, instead they have a consistent pattern of odd behavior. They seem to have had evidence of this behavior online, but not OTB, now they do.
You're also conveniently leaving out the fact that Magnus played like shit against Hans. I doubt a turbo autist such as Magnus would do that without some ulterior motive or, from a psychological aspect, have some idea that Hans may be a cheater and thus was thrown off.
Anonymous
>The simple answer is that they did not have enough evidence to accuse him of cheating
So they needed one magical over the board game in the sea of others to establish a pattern of odd behavior? How come not a single other OTB game has been brought up?
this "argument" fails again, you'll have to try harder >You're also conveniently leaving out the fact that Magnus played like shit against Hans
Because Magnus never played badly before in his life before, right?
You're full of shit lmao
To anyone above iq 100 it's sensible that Magnus underestimated him due to being 300 points ahead of the guy
again, you've provided zero proof and more fanfic
2 years ago

>So they needed one magical over the board game
Again, OTB has more weight than online. It's that simple. It certainly wouldn't be the giant drama fiasco you are seeing right now if this was just over his online games.
>Because Magnus never played badly before in his life before, right?
Yes, especially in a tournament, and especially because of how strong he is as a chess player. Unless you have some proof of him fricking up other recent tournaments.

yeah, now im firmly convinced you're just fishing for replies and pulling shit out of your ass for attention
I don't know which take is more shit - the one saying that one OTB game is sufficient to establish a """pattern of odd behavior""" or the fact that Magnus didn't have any severe blunders in the past couple of years
either way, reply to me again when you find some proof of whatever fanfic you conjure up next
to summarize: Magnus had no knowledge of Niemann cheating before the st louis game
the two even seemed to maintain a friendly relationship as is proved by their beach game during august
2 years ago
Anonymous
>I don't know which take is more shit - the one saying that one OTB game is sufficient to establish a """pattern of odd behavior"""
Pattern of behavior online --> pattern of behavior live
I don't understand why you keep misrepresenting this. A single odd game does not prove someone is cheating at chess. Like you said, they seemed to be amicable a month earlier. If this is just a one off thing, why did magnus imply he was cheating then? It is your logic that is starting to fall apart, not mine.
It is less logical that this one off tournament Magnus instantly thinks Hans is cheating, implies that he cheats, then Hans gives an interview saying he only cheated twice and then chess.com banning him for lying about how he cheated in the past. Are you really that smoothbrained to not understand how weird these events are taken at face value.
It is only logical to assume Magnus had an suspicion of Hans cheating or had some proof of him cheating previously and those suspicions were confirmed in their single game they played with each other, it is entirely illogical to think Magnus would accuse someone of cheating after only one game and thinking that Magnus did not have any preconceived notions of that person cheating.

This is going to kill chess. Imagine you are the next Paul Morphy-level genius. You would never make it to the top because you would be "too good" and banned for cheating. Not good enough to beat stockfish 15 but good enough to crush super GMs = banned, even if legit

That is a silly claim. You just keep winning and you'll make it to the top. If there are still suspicions of cheating and/or devices just keep escalating protocols - for example must play over the board is the obvious one, playing without toilet breaks, jamming rf frequencies, military-standard strip search for foreign devices, metal scanning for device implants, question about why they made a particular move - there is no way what you're saying could happen dude. Perhaps you're thinking it's like ped use in athletes where they can never be sure, but for communicating moves, no it's not. At least not with anything like today's tech, especially considering we're talking peanuts not hundreds of mllions of dollars.

Nakamura points out that Hans was caught cheating at chess.com, however at least for videogames, it is not unheard of for top players to have at some point cheated (eg. goose kek). > what if hans has autistically studied bad / off moves that engines don't particularly know or aren't the go to GM moves and then has studied ways to win based off of those bad / strange moves?
There’s a lot of reasons why this is unlikely. Even an engine has troubles coming back against a top player after a series of moves bad enough. If you actually look at the game, the opening is a very common chess opening, and the strange moves don’t really start until (I’d say) move 30. Even the most autistic preparation can’t account for that many possible moves in such a common opening. Especially not coming from a 2500 elo player, especially one that just so happens to overperform in every single game that is live broadcasted
Go has been beaten by computers that can make art while Chess was beaten by a glorified COMMODORE64. Also Go players peak at 20 like mathematicians while chess players peak at 30 like crack prostitutes.
Chess players were always little b***hes throwing hissy fits. During a world championship match in the 70s one player's team accused the other of witchcraft.
Another player joked that "he's never won against a healthy opponent" kek.
There's something in chess that attracts autists with fragile egos. Some guys are O.K. though like Karpov or that Bulgarian Sleazechad
>>Just memorize hundreds of variations in over 20 lines. What are novelties?!?
I don't think they're saying it's not incredibly difficult to do, just that as society has advanced to the point of having such excess that very smart people have time to memorize the game like this, which used to not be the case. It's only "solved" by the best of the best though, the spirit of the game still lives with people who are playing without knowing every possible move
Only the first maybe 10-15 moves are theory at the top level. Then the novelties come in and it's all up to the players from there.
Do you think the literal trillions of positions that could come up can be memorised by anyone?
Don't talk out your ass.
10-15 moves still ruins the game. And stop pretending there isn't a certain degree of narrowing-down that can occur based on an opponent's prior playe etc. There might be billions of possible combinations of moves but there is much smaller range of moves that actually make sense or wouldn't be outright losers in any given scenario.
It really speaks to how fricked the game is that you call normal-play a "novelty" kek. I mean apparently in your mind it is a literal novelty if people aren't memorizing moves. Insane how the irony of this language is missed on you.
Modern chess enjoys a reputation as a "thinking man's game" but the reality it is just a game for autismos, and is much less about actual human strategy than other superior games.
Hotter than playing fricking chess. That's the thing is that these pros are all obsessed. Play chess all day for a living and when it's time for anything else? Nah, more chess. Sex? No, Iet's play chess. Go to the beach? Bring a chessboard. Getting drunk with the boys? Let's stream some games of chess.

That only applies to the openings you moron, you still need to be godlike at calculating lines at very high depths all in your head
At high levels people are not just sequencing the opening they are sequencing like the first 20+ moves kek.
that's why I love Go, you can't really memorize all the variations.
I loved their album, out of the blue.
This. Checkers is the real test of raw intelligence.
Brainlet take
behold the true game of genius
This is why Bobby fisher said he hated chess in his old age.
Yes, and he invented his own form of chess called "Fischer Random" or Chess 960, the superior form of chess.
He also hated israelites and women and the US government tortured him in prison until his mind broke because he was too redpilled
Oh look it's some random people in the chess 960 finals since the classical chess pros spent their time analyzing openings 20 moves deep: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GS-Sh7bNd5w oh wait... Alltough i agree that theory is gay, but thinking that's all that matters is a sign of contrarian midwitism.

>solved game
LMAO. READ UP homie https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solved_game We'll propably have intellimogging AIs long before strongly solving chess.
like the other anon said chess isn't about skill, it's about memorizing patterns and efficency. it's all about le opening moves and it's a solved game. anyone who takes modern chess as a barometer of intelligence is a fool
Bullet chess is a better version of chess
The highest rated player of all time, OP pic, lost randomly to a much lower player because that player memorized strategies for the specific line that he tried to play right before the game.

what happened?
Any more volumes of bleach?
You're trying too hard. I know it can be rough when no one takes the first one, but I don't think a sloppy doubling down is the right answer here.
i dont understand why delusional hans gays type moronic woman tier shit like this
I apologize, I was mistaken.
Well said anon.
Tell us more about this super secret information that Magnus has about other chess players though his access to chess.com's servers.

is niemann israeli?
No he is an Aryan sigma male
so he's full (or mostly) German then?
i was thrown off by the surname and curly hair
but if what you say is true, then i like him much more now
already liked him before, but if it turned out he was israeli then i would of course instantly hate him
it makes sense though that he isn't israeli, as he'd already be propelled to front and center and praised endlessly by israeli handlers if he was
Nepomniatchi, Aronian and Svidler are israeli.
yeah frick those israelites
How the hell is he cheating? Ear piece? Pocket computer? I assume he's got a partner feeding the game into a computer and feeding him back the moves so essentially it's playing against an algo?
Unclear as to how he is cheating at the moment, if at all. But there's definitely some fishy shit going on.
Pic related shows Niemann's performance in tourneys between 2019 - 2020. He is apparently a significantly stronger player when games are broadcast live vs when there is a delay, and the gap is consistent and pronounced. Helluva coincidence if it is one.
What about 2021-2022?
Morse code through vibrating anal buttplug.
Thanks for the summary
>Hans Niemann
That doesn't sound like a very black name
The Chad Magnus vs The Virgin Hans
You forgot to mention Hans' current coach is also a confirmed cheater
How do you cheat at chess?
Hearing implant telling you what pattern your opponent is following?
>net worth $50 million
>31 years old
ummm....
very impressive wealth but i thought he was at least 40. Why did he age so badly?
At this point Magnus is the unmoggable king, and if he descends into chaos it’s just good content and only further solidifies his legend status
Such as Bobby fischer
How do you even cheat at chess?
Get some cues from a little speaker that feeds you some plays from dedicated Chess AIs?
The theory is that he had a wifi buttplug that someone viewing on live stream signaled which move to make.
Except there is no proof of any of it happening. None what so ever. Its just a crazy theory that some magnusgays came up with.
What is this autism?? This is in no way a serious theory that was created. Eric Hansen (chessbrah) made a joke about this on stream and then it blew up on whatever moronic social media. There is no one with a functioning brain who ever theorized this.
>The theory is that he had a wifi buttplug that someone viewing on live stream signaled which move to make.
i'm frickng dygin laughing at th ethoght of someone taking that joke/meme seirously and spreading it around LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
i can't even type i've gone full KEKW
at GM level, you don't need to be fed every move to cheat and win, with experienced players, if you give them just one move at the right time, they can win with that.
So it's substantially much easier to cheat as a GM because the cue can be very subtle and happen only once or twice per game.
How long until the Bobby arc?

She's so goddamn annoying with her loud high pitch and blabbering. I prefer her sister , she's hotter and a tiny bit more reserved
I prefer the superior looking sister.

Why would you want women to be smart?
chess players now are autismo that memorise everything

We did the needful. Again again many times we did the needful.

Yeah, so? Magnus would crush those two in his sleep
> be magnus
> be GOAT, but chess is chess, still lose to strong up-and-coming young players every now and then
> has lost many times while playing "extremely bad"
> never react in any moronic way
> lose to Hans Mutt Niemann, known chess.com cheater, banned from huge events on the site
The opponent was wearing a remote vibrating butt plug that was sending him signals from an accomplice about what moves to make
>The opponent was wearing a remote vibrating butt plug that was sending him signals from an accomplice about what moves to make
Ligga like how?
Only way I can imagine is that the butplugg's vibration frequency would increase while having his hand closer to the right pawn or position on the board.
But then Hans would have suffer an insane amount of vibration erecting his prostate that he would ejaculate multiple times during a match just like those femboys on /gif/ .
>maybe this would explain his weird behovior "let the cumstains speak for themselves" after his victory over MAGnus.
morse code stuff like "a9" is a small amount of vibrations required. maybe enough to avoid cumming
You'd only need few moves to be fed to you via anal vibrations to obliterate magnus. Hans is a good player and can capitalize with slight advantage.
Why did he have to use anal beads? Why not use some wires under the shirt like do they strip chess players naked or something?
Magnus did nothing wrong. The kid's a filthy cheater. Time will prove Carlson right.
Hans literally beat magnus in blitz
which is almost near impossible to cheat.
hes a strong player who has cheated in the past but I dont think he is cheating recently
Magnus is a pussy. Doesnt have the balls to do interviews anymore because he knows he is in the wrong, legally or otherwise.
Pretty sure Magnus was banging Arwen from the original LOTR trilogy.
how the frick do you cheat at chess?
This is a question I need an answer to.
I'm just speculating.
>set up a hidden communication with a partner
>partner plays all your opponents move against a computer
Magnus does you lift you morons. Google it
No he doesn't, you dumbass. He said in his own words that he doesn't.
I know there are engines. The question remains _how_ did Hans communicate with the engine?
There was no such thing in the first game they played, Hans admitted to online cheating in an interview post Magnus withdrawal from the tournament
>no such thing
Magnus' company partners with chess.com, so it is likely he was given info about hans even before their first match. Chess.com came out with a statement saying Hans cheated much more than what he admitted to, which means they likely have much more dirt on him and that's why they banned him.
so why ban him only after Magnus' outrage and not before?
that's bullshit
They'd come up with that shit before Magnus even signed the fricking contract to play the first game
there's a difference between evidence of cheating online and then evidence of cheating during a OTB tournament.
It wouldn't look very good for them to just ban him and shitfling before there was even more evidence of cheating by him making weird moves during a OTB tournament.
but it does look good for him to face someone you suspect to be a cheater and get your ass whooped, knowing you'll likely be unable to prove that shit happened?
lol
they didn't suspect shit about hans before the first game and saying anything else is speculative bullshit
All I see is speculative bullshit on your part, and then some more stacked on top of it like a jenga shitpile
you're asserting some 6D chess fanfic how Carlsen knew all along that Hans is a cheater and how he played him despite that (also didnt apparently voice his concern to tourney holders to up their security or hell even oversee it himself because he probably fricking could)
occam's fricking razor anon: magnus smelled bullshit, further investigation was performed, chess.com acted on that investigation and issued the ban
again, there was no muh psychology pressure during the first game because you can't prove magnus knew shit or that chess.com was initially suspect of Hans to begin with
I don't understand why would you autistically push a literal fricking fanfic lmao
>further investigation was performed
Except that it wasn't. Magnus quite quickly came out and made the twitter post that implied Hans was cheating. The same thing with chess.com. Do you think it only takes a couple hours for chess.com to pour over games from a GM on their website and determine without a shadow of a doubt that he cheated?
>Do you think it only takes a couple hours for chess.com to pour over games from a GM
It literally takes less lmao, it's all automated to smell out bullshit
You'd be correct in that, but statistical analyses of Hans' games by the guy that invented the anti cheat engines FIDE uses says that Hans' games are not suspect.
And Magnus' coach says "well the guy's an expert in statistics but he's not a fricking super GM"
FIDE is corrupt anyway and I wouldn't trust them one bit
the point being that a cursory analysis of hans' games does not reveal cheating, which means it takes a much deeper dive, a dive that cannot be completed in a matter of hours for magnus and chess.com to accuse hans of cheating which means they likely had previous evidence of him cheating and their suspicions were confirmed with his game against magnus
the chess speaks for itself
that again makes no sense
they have evidence... but they simultaneously do not and need over the board scapegoat match to prove it?
lmao what? I'll give you a few moments to realize you're contradicting yourself
They have evidence of cheating online, they did not have evidence of cheating OTB
There's a clear distinction between cheating online when money's not involved and cheating OTB where money is involved. Do you not understand how cheating in these types of games is found out? Do you honestly think they'll find a device?
Chess.com banned him after he said in his interview he only cheated twice before.
>money's not involved
pretty sure he played in a few tournaments online which included monetary compensation, in the past 2 years
You keep spinning in circles with more assumptions and more bullshit
>Do you honestly think they'll find a device?
So why did Magnus play him then? According to you they had evidence, but they also didnt - they wanted to catch him... but also couldnt
Are you a literal fricking schizo lmao
>Chess.com banned him after he said in his interview he only cheated twice before.
According to your fanfics, once again
>chess.com was already well acquainted with Hans' cheating career as a result of their in depth investigations before STL game
>they had ample evidence which warranted allegedly warning Magnus
>but for whatever the fricking reason, instead of acting on it beforehand, they did so only after the saint louis game with Magnus, making it seem as if Carlsen strongarmed them into doing it
You still fail to realize how moronic this is? Just drop the fanfic bullshit dude
chess.com knew he cheated way more than he admitted to, so yes, as you're implying, he won online tournaments while he was also suspected of cheating.
And it's literally in their post, can't you read?
what? that only proves they didn't have shit, or at least nothing tangible like I've been saying all along, and that only the analysis post first game might've given them some sort of an idea how/when he cheated. This cements the idea that he was for all intents and purposes invisible until he himself admitted to cheating
just because you keep tossing random shit around doesn't meant it makes logical sense
now you combine the knowledge with the fact that engines designed specifically to catch cheaters have said that he plays normally, which means they had to manually go through all his games and see if he was cheating, this isn't something you can do within the span of a day.
>this isn't something you can do within the span of a day.
yeah, you do it in a span of 3 days since that's how long it actually took
it's not even a big feat when you got entire team magnus on it + shitload of other people at chess.com
either way you failed to explain why would they not act on the evidence all this time, try to 6d chess orchestrate over the board to catch the guy... yet not actually up the security measures to prevent the cheating from happening to begin with
unless you can tangibly prove stuff beyond pure speculation and fanfics the story stands as it's officially assumed- magnus had no knowledge of niemman's cheating during their st louis game
a few weeks before that, back in august, giri even shared the photo of them playing chess on the beach lmao
>The simple answer is that they did not have enough evidence to accuse him of cheating
So they needed one magical over the board game in the sea of others to establish a pattern of odd behavior? How come not a single other OTB game has been brought up?
this "argument" fails again, you'll have to try harder
>You're also conveniently leaving out the fact that Magnus played like shit against Hans
Because Magnus never played badly before in his life before, right?
You're full of shit lmao
To anyone above iq 100 it's sensible that Magnus underestimated him due to being 300 points ahead of the guy
again, you've provided zero proof and more fanfic
Forgot to say no observers during these test games, and strict silence other than applause and distance if there are audiences.
In theory I agree. But the current chess drama proves you wrong. There is no way Hans could have cheated over the board against Magnus yet people are claiming he did because muh World Champion, muh "weird moves"... muh lipstick
Also muh prep, muh ELO increasing too fast... anything but actual proof yet here we are
>the point being that a cursory analysis of hans' games does not reveal cheating
Some guy made an analysis of Hans' performances and found that there's a high correlation between Hans' games being broadcasted live and him winning games.
This professor who has studied cheating for years claims he didn't cheat:
https://en.chessbase.com/post/is-hans-niemann-cheating-world-renowned-expert-ken-regan-analyzes
Nakamura points out that Hans was caught cheating at chess.com, however at least for videogames, it is not unheard of for top players to have at some point cheated (eg. goose kek). It doesn't damn him forever. It's also just from behind a computer, which is insanely easy to cheat on. irl is insanely hard to cheat at.
I'm not a fan of Kasparov's politics, but he's dead right here.
>nooooooo YOU MUST make a statement openly implicating numerous FIDE members and players in a cheating scandal but we know you got no tangible, physical proof so we're gonna make you look like a schizo
frick the israelites and frick Kasparov the giga israelite
Magnus hasn't matured at all, he is a 13 year old in a 32 year olds body. I remember when ai lost in a chess tournament by a gigachad when I was 8. I accused him of cheating as a cope. Similar vibes here. Magnus is a b***h and needs to be punched in the face.
>he is a 13 year old in a 32 year olds body.
Literally me.
i much prefer being a 32 year old in a 13 year old's body
Frick the israelites but if you notice here Kasparov is complaining about "hearsay" which is quite true. israelites can be smart when they want to be, what separates them from Black folk.
>Do you think it only takes a couple hours for chess.com to pour over games
This is also bullshit, on the side note
chess.com banned him 2 days later
Magnus smelled bullshit during and imminently after the game
So yes, there was obviously a further investigation performed
> what if hans has autistically studied bad / off moves that engines don't particularly know or aren't the go to GM moves and then has studied ways to win based off of those bad / strange moves?
There’s a lot of reasons why this is unlikely. Even an engine has troubles coming back against a top player after a series of moves bad enough. If you actually look at the game, the opening is a very common chess opening, and the strange moves don’t really start until (I’d say) move 30. Even the most autistic preparation can’t account for that many possible moves in such a common opening. Especially not coming from a 2500 elo player, especially one that just so happens to overperform in every single game that is live broadcasted
>Actual chess player
>Highest elo was 2000
lol
He IS a chess player anon. The other guy even said in his comment he's a novice
>t. assblasted hardstuck 1100
You absolutely would lose repeatedly to someone at 2,000
>Yeah somewhat true, but if chess was solved and there was no room for growth then we would not lose to computers.
Wat
If chess was solved then people wouldn't lose. That's like failing a test when you have the answers. moron
There's like a billion answers though.
Please stick to chess and don't talk about computers because you know jack shit about how they work on any level, this actually undermines your point
Magnus "No Mas" Carlsen
Go has been beaten by computers that can make art while Chess was beaten by a glorified COMMODORE64. Also Go players peak at 20 like mathematicians while chess players peak at 30 like crack prostitutes.
>that guy who plays chess between sets on his tablet
That was me until my gym bought in a no phones policy because of bawds reporting being filmed
>Play the world champion
>He resigns after the first move out of fear
How can one train this power of intimidation?
first squat plugs, now chess plugs, what's next plug and plug accessory line?
damn, moot is really looking rough these days
Insane how the irony of this language is missed on you.
so magnus retired from strongman to become a grandmaster chess?
Hands Semen vs Magnum Dongsen
I 100% believe it was cheating.
Magnus is mad that Hans banged Andrea
Modern chess enjoys a reputation as a "thinking man's game" but the reality it is just a game for autismos, and is much less about actual human strategy than other superior games.
>Hot girl absolutely drooling over him
>"Hold on, Alireza is on!"
Why are they like this bros
“Hot”
Literally absolutely regular
Hotter than playing fricking chess. That's the thing is that these pros are all obsessed. Play chess all day for a living and when it's time for anything else? Nah, more chess. Sex? No, Iet's play chess. Go to the beach? Bring a chessboard. Getting drunk with the boys? Let's stream some games of chess.
