Tyson could not hack it today, Black personboy. Boxing turned international and few Black folk have what it takes. Besides, Tyson would lose against a decent wrestler. There is literally nothing he could do about it.

But not any grappler can beat Mike Tyson fricking dumbass

If Mike Tyson doesn't know any grappling he will most likely lose against a decent grappler. I dare you to take on a wrestler without any previous training and see how it goes.

That's the thing tho I'm not a professional heavyweight who has over 50 wins and trained by Cus, I'm still an amateur boxer.

Maybe if we're pitting amateurs against amateurs ye the wresting dudes would win like 8/10 times but Mike Tyson was a HALL OF FAME boxer, along with Ali he is the FACE of boxing for the average person who isn't deep into the sport. And honestly any wrestler who's dumb enough to go for a leg takedown from the get go will eat a mean uppercut, it's not easy as you make it out to be. Maybe if you mentioned another boxer who wasn't a powerhouse and didn't exude so much pressure on his opponents then I'd probably side with you no debate. No just any wrestler is beating Tyson, decent doesn't cut it you'd have to be a professional minimum

Great strikers get destroyed by grapplers all the time for being stupid. Rhonda Rousey is one of the better examples, she cleaned house on better fighters because she focused on taking them down and submitting them. When she went against Holly Holm, a professional boxer with 40+ professional boxing matches, someone in her corner told her her stand-up was good enough, and she tried to play the striking game with Holm, she got knocked the frick out. If Rousey had just stuck with her old formula, takedown, armbar, she most likely would’ve won.

            >Klitschko, a 4–1 underdog, dominated the early going with many harder punches. He stunned Lewis in the second round with two hard rights, leaving a cut under Lewis's left eye.[39] In the third, Lewis landed a big right hand that opened a deep cut above Klitschko's left eye.[39] Before the seventh round, the ringside doctor inspected the wound and deemed it severe enough to threaten eye damage if struck again, stopping the fight despite Klitschko's pleas to continue. Klitschko was ahead on all three judges' scorecards 58–56 (4 rounds to 2) at the time of the stoppage, but because the wound was a result of punches from Lewis, Lewis won by technical knockout.

Marciano had a great career and was a great champion. Tyson was ultimately a frick up an a waste of talent. If anything it was tyson who fought bums- even though it isn't entirely his fault he was fighting bums- he fought who was there to fight.

Having said that someone like Marciano never fought someone like Tyson obviously. In his prime he was a great boxer, but never a great champion.

Tyson was too fricked up to ever be a great champion. He couldn't go five seconds with self destructing without Cus' crew breathing breathing down his neck. Tyson had immense talent and skill, but just didn't remotely have the makings of a great like Marciano. Tyson wishes he was a champion like Marciano or Louis.

If Mike knows he's fighting in MMA rules, I think he'd work on his grappling with the same intensity as his boxing. He could be pretty scary on the ground in a pretty short amount of time. Or just grab a dozen D1 wrestlers and pay them to shoot on him over and over again until he can defend the takedown.

Even if the grappler usually beats the striker, Mike was a phenom with notoriously heavy hands, great infighting, and fast, aggressive footwork. Mike would be in your face, leaving you with little opportunity to set up your shot.

There's no shame in getting heemed by him, especially since he's probably stronger, faster, and has better cardio than (You).

Idk prime Tyson is basically like a version of Frazier that is stronger, faster, and a better boxer imho. And Frazier beat Ali. Frazier could also take a punch though and that would be the real test for Mike Tyson.

People forget that in his prime, Tyson was a good boxer not just a puncher. D'Amato and crew basically taught him everything and kept him sharp. There is a great old clip where D'Amato is play-sparring with Ali during the period where Ali was on hiatus, and when Cus starts boxing like Frazier, it looked remarkably like Tyson's later style. I can just tell even back then he was formulating that style.
