Obesity rates went from <1% in 1890 to 44% in the USA today.

Motherfricker what do you think increased more since 1890, caloric intake or fat intake as % of total calories consumed?

"Saturated fat increased 18% (50–59 g), monounsaturated fat increased 71% (45–77 g), and polyunsaturated fat increased 238% (13–44 g) (Figure 2). Annual total caloric and macronutrient availability per capita from 1909 to 2010 (Source: USDA ERS)."

Meanwhile, carb intake has gone down.

Unironically. It's blatant that it's industrialised seed oils, correlates so well that it's bizarre people jump to other conclusions.

        >Massive increase in food production and accessibility
        >Proliferation of fast food chains
        >Food delivery
        >Most families now require both parents to work, making high-calorie fast food an easy way to cover for the lack of a person making home-cooked meals every day
        >Widespread availability of desserts/sweets/sodas that are high in calories, but have little nutritional value; aren't filling
        >It must be the carbs

Motherfricker, before industrialized food production and before the accessiblity to food that we had today, people ate carbs more than anything else. Potatos, bread, all day, because it was cheap and filling. Do you thing that all that skinny people in the 1900s ate a balanced, delicated diet of pure protein and keto meals?

I think the easy answer is that if you eat a surplus of energy, then it's not going back out.

If the solution is known there are no longer any excuses to stay fat, so most people would rather pretend it isn't. Because debating endlessly is apparently easier than tracking what you put into your mouth for 3-9 months.

I remember when I visited China I would order two KFC meals. In the US I can't even finish one fast food diner, which is mostly because it's greasier but it is also larger.
Also I'm not fat but over 6 foot and muscular.

Side note, I really wish the US's fast food was a good as it is in Asia.

How about soda consumption. It's not carbs homie, it's liquid sugar. Completely fricks your hunger response. Nobody is as bored, greedy, hungry, and poor as Americans, and nobody has the sheer availability of cheap calories.

Ketohomosexuals and anti-ketohomosexuals are both fricking moronic.

Fat countries are fat because they eat a lot of calorie dense food. USA is fat because being fat is normalized and there's a culture of fast food and overeating. Japan is not fat because (in general) they have smaller, healthier options and have a culture of fat shaming.

The obesity question is CICO + culture

If you think the keto discussion is not actually about cico and hunger signaling you're moronic. Everyone knows it's ciao, it's just about which foods make you eat more and which less

Wrong. It's culture and calories out. Or in, depending on how you see it, but not just CICO.
Ketos are right that in order to lose weight, you have to get your body to actually start USING the fat reserves. Fastbros simply skip eating all together and just force their bodies to eat itself until they're at a better weight.
You're not going to get the same nutrition from 500 cal of chocolate like you will a steak.

I was trying to say that the general mantra of CICO was true, being that eating more means gaining more and so forth.
The part I'm calling bullshit is the idea that "a calorie is a calorie", completely ignoring the fact that 20 calories from animal fats are completely different from the fats of sneed oils and/or sugar.

          Anonymous

It's really not. You're obsessing over rounding errors and ignoring the more important factor. I ate exclusively at mcdonalds for 3 weeks during my cut this spring, still averaged -1kg/week over that period because I was eating at a deficit as estimated from the indicated nutritional value.

            Anonymous

Well, McDonald's is mostly just frozen foodstuffs from corporate farms, not really pink mystery slime, so of course you can live off it just fine if you do indeed go in a deficit. However, it's still prone to relapsing and shit, and the only reason the deficit works is because your body is forced to start using fat reserves. That's the idea of fasting, keto, and other diet choices about avoiding carbs.

Everything has diminishing returns and every single thing on the planet comes with some form of consequence.

Japan is the skinniest country on the planet that is considered first world country.
They eat carbs regularly and plentifully.
They also have diabetes rate higher than USA despite being skinnier than nearly any country you can imagine.
          CICO works to fight obesity.
CICO does not work to fight disease itself.
I am a supporter of using CICO, it works to stay skinny.
However it doesn't work with the idea of staying healthy beyond being skinny.

There are real world examples you can use for your argument Anon. You should look into them.
Keto homosexuals and vegan shills will ignore them, but you will at least know them.

I'm from Thailand and I will tell you, I ate tons of rice and fruits with no problem. I'm fat currently and when I looked back, it was coca-cola which I drank with every meal and when I'm bored. so, the keto aren't far-fetched about carbs, it's just only israelite's carbs that's caused me problems, not natural or close to natural carbs like rice or fruits
avoid any israelite's merchandise is the best
