Humans can not digest bug protein because it comes from their hard chitin layer. israelite shill. All fields

A few paragraphs down it mentions protein digestibility being over estimated due to chitin.

    >80% of countries

So if you got one small town that eats bugs once a year, they count your country as a bug consoomer

    >sustainable

How the frick would you know? Solar was also clean and sustainable, and renewable or whatever the frick, yet it turned out to be catabolic and worthless for mass consumption. You had rock bands promoting solar power, bragging about how their entire concerts were powered on solar, only to turn out they had a diesel engine in the back doing all the work.

Also what's with all this planning to MAKE people eat this stuff? How do you explain this, lolberts? There is 0 actual market demand for bugs, why the frick are so many companies trying to market it so hard then? How exactly does the invisible hand of the market work here, exactly? Does it work in mysterious ways as well?

Cricket exoskeletons cannot be digested by people. You would need to extract the cricket 'meat' from inside them (an obviously labor intensive process) the same way you do for crabs and lobsters.

This is why your argument is disingenuous.

If you can prove to me that insect proteins are truly comparable to ruminant proteins I will eat them. I'll still eat beef, but I wouldn't be against eating dried crickets as a snack.
It's when they start pushing shitty, incomplete homosexualy proteins and plant based alternatives that I get fricked off. I'm not switching out my diet to some onions based goyslop crap that leaves me weak and malnourished.
Might as well start pushing us to subsist off of nothing but gruel and puddle water the fricking eco nut c**ts.

How much leucine does bug protein have?
Leucine is the main muscle building amino acid.

Protein digestibility-corrected amino acid score (PDCAAS) is a method of evaluating the quality of a protein based on both the amino acid requirements of humans and their ability to digest it.
    >beef 0.92
    >cricket 0.687

I can keep copypasting from wikipedia all day
        >Using the PDCAAS method, the protein quality rankings are determined by comparing the amino acid profile of the specific food protein against a standard amino acid profile with the highest possible score being a 1.0. This score means, after digestion of the protein, it provides per unit of protein 100% or more of the indispensable amino acids required.

80% of countries eat crickets because they're poor as frick and it's the only protein source they can afford.

    >they're super cheap
    they most certainly are not
that shit is super expensive in the first world since they know they'll never convince normal people to buy it even if they made it cheap and the gay hippies that do buy it with their mom's credit card are going to buy it regardless because it lets them virtue signal

I don't understand the reasoning behind these eco-initiatives. If meat farming is so damaging to the environment, why not just reduce the number of people, rather than trying to feed them bugs? You will simultaneously reduce carbon emissions, water pollution, shitty tik tok videos, but people will still be able to eat nutritious food.

It gives a section of the population a lot of power over another section of the population.

Its a form of religion where some are able to define reality, decide whats ''Good'' and give a legal/moral frame to force others to act their way.

This is a form of neo-feudalism where people will be barred from using nature, other than ''visiting'' it, meat will become a delicacy for the few while the plebs will eat green alternative, bugs and plants. Your worth as an individual will be linked to your carbon footprint so the less you do = better person, while the rich will still have the ressources to cheat within the rules.

Do americans really think lean beef is 10% fat? 5% beef mince should be ~30% protein. Chicken breast is also ~30% protein so if ze bug really is 31g then it's the same.

      Anonymous

Chicken has 31g protein per 165kcal, for a ratio of 75%. Lean beef is in the 40-50% range, which is consistent with the picture.
An adult weightltraining male needs about 25-30% of their caloric intake from protein.
