>Why is the bicep so easy to tear
It isn't. Strongmen tear it all the fucking time because they are manhandling hundreds of pounds in awkward shapes.
Preacher curls tear them because of physics. I also never do them, don't see the point over a standing barbell curl. >oh no some of the force production was with momentum and/or front delts, in stead of the bicep tendon with a massive moment arm
>Why is the bicep so easy to tear bros?
Because the average man’s biceps is evolved to curl the weight of a woman at most, and that’s during sex while standing or seated and not on some autismo bench. Biceps are evolved primarily to assist in rowing, lifting, and swinging/hanging movements. They are not meant to be isolated. Even chin ups are hard on the muscle. When’s the last time you saw a chimp do an isolated curl with anything that weighs more than a rock? When’s the last time you saw an ape swing in the trees with its palms facing itself? The curl is an unnatural movement.
Preacher curl is especially dangerous as the angle of the bench maximises the moment arm when the tendon is in the fully stretched position, while fully pronating your arms like that puts an enormous amount of additional strain on the biceps tendon at just the correct angle to rip it right off the bone. If he'd done it standing, or with an EZ or hammer curl bar, then it probably wouldn't have happened. Preacher curls are the kind of exercise that should only ever be done for high reps.
I do preacher curls with dumbells 1 arm at the time and I use a weight that is between 4 and 8 lbs below what I usually use with standing curls.
But the tricky part is that research shows that biceps development is 1,5-2 times faster when you perform curls at the maximum stretch point, like between 125° and 180° on a preacher.
Moral of the story is that those lil bastards grow the most when you get them in a dangerous position, so be sure to use a weight you can handle and go for high reps
Don't take roids or ego lift and you won't tear muscles. Roids make tendons brittle (the exception being the nandrolones) and muscular strength starts to exceed the maximum strength capacity of tendons, which doesn't occur naturally.
To keep yourself safe, don't put your body as far down as possible on the pad. Your armpit should NOT be slammed into the pad. It should just be the lower half of your triceps. This lets you still isolate your biceps while not placing 100% of the load on the small tendons.
it isn't easy to tear your bicep, the guy in the video this is from is doing everything you shouldn't do, you couldn't design a better bicep guillotine, ego lifting, lifting way too heavy on a preacher curl, over extending and stretching out which puts a ton of pressure on your tendons at the peak while your bicep is trying to contract which is why his biceps pull all the way up after they snap
seriously just don't try and preacher curl lmao 1pl8 its just the worst idea
btw this guy did recover after surgery, physio, and lots of time rehabbing, dont ever see anyone mention that, i think he lives in brazil now and has a pretty typical fitness travel youtube channel
I can’t help it these videos have scared me off of preacher curls. Why is the bicep so easy to tear bros?
like the other guy said normal barbell curls are safe. the majority of bicep tears either happen to a gearhead doing preacher curls, a gearhead pulling 600+ pounds on a mixed grip deadlift, and strongmen doing awkward af clunky lifts
ull never tear ur cep doing hammer curls or ez bar curls etc
I can’t help it these videos have scared me off of preacher curls. Why is the bicep so easy to tear bros?
oh and if youre wondering why roiders tear their biceps its because they get strong faster than their tendons do, and also some compounds actually weaken your joints. tren is infamous for weakening joints
This. Natties might pull a bicep if they overwork and overexert themselves over the course of a month. But they will never rip a muscle straight off a tendon like roidtrannies do.
Lifting above your safe limit, preacher curls or not, is always dangerous.
Adam is so based we need more voices like him today more than we ever have before
Don't ego lift and you'll be fine.

normal weight of a woman, not American average weight of a woman
>Because the average man’s biceps is evolved to curl the weight of a woman at most, and that’s during sex while standing
Probably the stupidest comment I've ever read here. How do you explain gay guys then you gay? They evolved their biceps for women? Retard.
Homos are self-destructive.
>How do you explain gay guys then you gay?
mentally ill GDE

most retarded thing I read all week
They're bigger than me, so they're on steroids and never strengthened their tendons.

no I will go with weight I can barely handle and do 3 reps max

Never had an issue with hammer grip on dumbbells.
I go hard with a light weight and higher reps, no bouncing out of the bottom or anything like that.
One of my favorite bicep movements.
No, I don't egolift, nor take steroids, nor do I ignore joint pain.
What am I supposed to be seeing here
biceps popping out of the sockets

One arm is longer than the other
he tore both his biceps
did he tear both?
Big biceps look like shit.
There, I said it. And if you waste your time on them you deserve to have them tear.
t. 14 inch arms calisthenics fag
Just do another curl. It’s not important which one you use. The results are very similar between all curls except hammer curls
