You're not gonna succeed if you don't have help.
I'm not suggesting narcotics anonymous since you'll just end up networking with other chronic relapsing junkies, but you need to find some sort of support.

I don't think this is true. Isn't there data that shows that people who successfully quit alcohol (or anything else) just do it cold turkey one day and never do it again. It's a force of will.

This is bad advice. Don't listen to this demoralizer, OP.

You must rely on yourself, and only yourself. The will to succeed comes from within.
There's too much of a chance at getting pulled in by crabs in a bucket, or not building the self-reliability you need, if you have to rely on others for help.

Unironically true. You shouldn't even tell other people your goals. There is evidence that doing so tricks your brain into thinking you already achieved your goal, and you stop trying.

Naw it's just weed, I'll be fine

Just a few days of cold sweats and insomnia and a month of absolute existential dread and I should be fine

That's the belief in yourself that is needed. I know you can do it with that mindset, anon. If for some reason you fail: don't beat yourself up, and get right the frick back on the horse and keep going.
        t. I took December off (Dope-free December) and am shifting this success to the journey that is permanent sobriety.

/x/ schizo here, how old are you? if you are 29 or 30 this is a very important time to set habits and lifestyles you want to keep for the next 30 years.

    7 years sober today.

Hardest part at the start was sleeping but after maybe three weeks I started getting 10 hours a night. It was incredible. Also you get amazing dumps.

I almost wish I could get sober again for those dumps.

Yeah generally if you have to set an arbitrary date to do something instead of doing it ASAP you aren’t actually going to take it seriously enough to follow through

1 month here. First two or three weeks were fricking awful. Jesus fricking breasts. Now though, it seems as though the body remembers how to function without being on whisky constantly. About a week ago I started exercising, already lost 7kg. Soldier through the first days! Wagmi
