How is it a normie magnet workout? When I went to a casual gym owned by my town I would never see anyone but me deadlift

I literally see it everywhere. Especially among chicks for some reason

No you see it online. You're dumb and gullible so you belive everything you see online represent real life.

The man said he's seen it. He's browsing a fitness board so it's that big of a stretch to believe he actually went to the gym at some point.

Considering some of the threads people make here i would say it is a big stretch to give users the benefit of the doubt

Go to any commercial gym filled with normies. It's rare to see people deadlifting. Only those who seriously involve themselves in fitness deadlift; btw that's not a lot of people.

Post body. Let's see your deadlift gains. And yes, I always see this shit. My sister for instance makes it her main workout. So do her friends.

1 lift is not a workout

Really? huh, when I was going to commercial gyms it was all about the glute exercises/legs for women.
Really the deadlift hits the glutes, hams decently but making it your "main lift" seems odd for a woman.

It's often one's heaviest lift, and it's fun! If you have fun doing an exercise safely, then there's no reason to stop.

because it feels the best of all lifts and it's such a primitive action, you pick up shit off the ground. honestly if you can't get that there's not much hope for you

this, i like the feeling of the hit to the central nervous system. there probably isnt a word for that feeling, it makes you feel alive. i do spend like 15 minutes working up to my 1rm of 3.5pl8, i dont use a belt or feel like going past that and it feels great every time, i also dont do any other lifts when i do them.

I don't train lower body but for upper body I think it's pretty much settled your time is better spent doing lifts that actually target the muscles you wanna grow and not just isometrically

Deadlifts are based. It's almost always your strongest lift, it feels great in a primal caveman monke ooga booga kind of way, and you don't have to train them as frequently as other lifts to see consistent gains.
You should stop caring what normalgays think or do and focus on your routine instead.

What's a good rep range for safe deadlifts? I did 5x12 last week, but I think that was too much

powershitters do either one set at 65% for max reps or 10 sets of 1 with like 85-90% of their 1rm

if you are doing romanians or stiff leg dl, you can do 3 sets of 12

but 5 sets of 12 for a heavy compound lift is fricking nuts, leave that for bicep curls and side laterals

It depends on the rest of your routine and what type of training you're going for. But yes, 12 rep deadlifts are fine.

    Conventional deadlift = god tier
Sumo deadlifts = normie cope tier

I am in phase 2 of SS (deadlifts every other training day).
Should I try increasing the weight in 5lb or 10lb increments? I'm at 230lb right now and even that feels pretty heavy since I'm weak.
Not sure how one keeps their squats from catching up to their deadlifts though, if they're squatting every training day and doing 5lb increments.

honestly did you ever done any physical activity irl more intense than walking to your car? do you realise how much deadlift adds to you irl?

I literally have better hamstrings and glutes doing romainian deadlifts with dumbbells using 40kg dumbbells in each hand than I ever did deadlifting 180kg+ with barbell

RDL with DB's just hits it right I think, I was a literal DYEL with Conventional Deadlifts with much heavier weight.

I've been doing sumo deadlifts because I hate doing squats and leg presses. Plus, it's good for your spine.
