>Deadlift is the single most effective move that you can do at the gym to increase your strength and muscle mass.
>Also, nothing looks more manly and savage then pulling tons of weight from the ground.

this but non ironically, also breathe manually from now on
OTOH Trump lost and the COVID vaccine is safe and effective
At this point im quite impressed that nobody in the US has shot a gym up
The feds groom the shooters to go after easily targeted victims (like children who cannot fight back in public schools) to push gun control. If someone tried to shoot up a gym they'd get tackled almost immediately, or shot by one of the many right-wingers conceal carrying.
I can respect someone who wants to deadlift heavy but it's laughable some people think it's necessary for bodybuilding
the most reasonable post on IST
i'm sorry but you're too logical and don't belong here
Also to add on, pro athletes in any sports don't deadlift for the obvious high risks of injury.
Olympic wrestlers are pro and they all diddly 3xBW
>pro athletes in any sports don't deadlift for the obvious high risks of injury.
This is one of those lines that IST constantly parrots even though it's objectively untrue. It's fine if you just don't want to deadlift, but don't make up bullshit rationalizations for your lack of testicular fortitude
You watched the YouTube short with Robert Oberst in it, didn't you anon? The one where he got BTFO by current and former D1 athletes who responded to him?
>Robert Oberst
garbage strong man competitor as well smdh
imagine taking advice from that fat loser
Face it, you can snapped up by squatting and benching to
But the only lift that gets constant hatred is the deadlift
As long as you don't egolift and try to max with shit technique, you won't snap your shit up
Do it in a solid rep range and you are golden
Nothing unsafe about working posterior chain
Do rdls, trapbar, stuff, block pull, etc
real and true
Completely untrue, for example pro baseballers are all encouraged to go as heavy as possible on DL, 4pl8 for reps minimum. Core and ass strength are endlessly useful in any explosive power based sport
In a world of madmen the wise is a fool. I'm the retard here for trying to post seriously on a bait thread
Go ahead, make a counterargument
only dyels and obese powershitters deadlift
Oh and ATHLETES
It cracks me up that some guys pick lifts based on them being manly. You gonna go chuck some axes while sipping whiskey and eating ribs afterwards brother? Real performative masculinity Mark Rippetoe shit
Autistically focusing on one exercise is based though. I just do heavy bench/power cleans plus a fuckton of cardio & calisthenics depending on what my joints are saying that day.
Everytime I deadlift I get super horny after the workout idk why
>be me, lifting for years
>6'2 200 pounds decently lean with abs visible
>1 pl8 OHP for 8 reps, strong at pullups bw and weighted, among other things
>never did deadlifts or any floor pulls
>noticed that I have pretty bad posture because of weak spinal erectors, hard to keep my back straight in the middle
>lower back noticeably underdeveloped in comparison to lats and upper back
>decide to finally start doing deadlifts, learn the proper form
>still working on form and bracing, using lmao1pl8, bar keeps bruising my shins and hitting the benis at the top
>meanwhile a pack of zoomers, most of them DYEL, are also doing deadlifts right next to me
>all of them ripping 3,5 to 4 pl8
>gym was packed too, multiple hot girls around the platform
Was super humbling. Gotta keep at it and smoke that 4pl8 in a bit
You’ll make it. Getting to 4pl8 is a solid goal and you’ll get benefits from it. Don’t listen to the bucketcrabs here.
Thanks brah
You have a good attitude about this. Keep up the good work.
you don't "rip" lmao 4pl8
when you are at 5.5 or 6 pl8 then sure use your cringe terminology
Shut up you illiterate DYEL gay. Completely pointless and cunty post.
Best to start at whatever weight you can pull correctly and then build up from there. The only reason deadlift has such a high rate of injury is because people don't realise how shit their posture / core are and they just pull the heaviest weight they can from the start. This means they further ingrain their biomechanical compensation mechanisms, strengthening the parts of themself that are already too overactive and further atrophying the parts that should be contributing more. Most people don't even have the hip mobility for the start position and compensate by rounding the spine and shoulders.
You're doing the right thing. If you're not competing in powerlifting or weightlifting, all lifts are a means to an end. Just because something is easy to measure doesn't mean it's the right thing to optimise.
You are right. I don't have the mobility either so I'm raising the bar a little bit by putting plates underneath, working on stretching my hammies meanwhile. Pulling 1pl8 feels very easy but it is still difficult to maintain good form and straight spine on all reps, I feel like it's wise to practice with bitch weight until the form is ingrained into my memory and feels natural. Slightly embarrasing in a crowded gym but it is what it is, won't be like that forever
Cheers mate
>anon, you look strong, can you help me move?
>s-sorry but I don't deadlift
this is my greatest fear
>i don't perform x lift because terminally DYELs who have never even touched a plate on a mongolian throat singing forum told me it's cringe
3 plates for reps is all you need, just saying
How many reps
20
