I swear 90% of the people who go on about them are DYELs with one rep maxes of 4 plate and just do them to feel superior to other gym users.

To sum up this and every other deadlift thread: all you dyel morons on fit think that somehow a 4pl8 or 4.5pl8 deadlift is strong/impressive, when it's the same tier as a 2pl8 bench. People who bench 2pl8 are dyels and people who deadlift 4.5 pl8 are dyels. This has nothing to do with the deadlift being ineffective and everything to do with the fact that those numbers are simply not very strong.

Unless you start out obese, you’re not pulling 405 in three months. And definitely not for reps like that other gay was saying. And if you *do* achieve that, it’s not going to be by doing 1x5 deadlifts 1.5 times per week. Post body, SS shill.

Getting a 3.5pl8 x 5 deadlift in 3 months is not as unrealistic as you think for a young and reasonably athletic male. Men like that often start at 2pl8 x 5 and increment their deadlifts by 15-10 lbs for the first few weeks. That rapidly adds up to 150 lbs in 3 months.

the reason powerlifters frick up their joints isn't due to deadlifts, it's mostly bench, shit messes up your rotator cuffs long term for pretty much everyone.

No, because explosivity is controlled by your ability to quickly recruit muscle mass and contract it. That's essentially genetically determined. Getting stronger means there's more to recruit and helps a bit (but also adds weight), but how high you can jump isn't particularly trainable. The best way to increase your power clean--an expression of power--is to increase your deadlift. What does that tell you about jumping?

You're a fricking moron. I thought we left subhumans like you on r/fitness in 2010. Go read a study about what muscles DL train you dumb Black person. You're just another proof that deadlift trannies are people who never trained and just regurgitate what they've read on r3ddit.

Could anyone give some tips on how I can get a better deadlift? I'm currently on 3.5pl8 doing 3x8 but really struggling once I add weight.
