In tropical regions fruit is okay but during the winter in places with real winter (ie snow and ice) its unnatural for you to be getting a lot of potassium rich foods because it interfers with vitamin d absorption. There are tricks to offset the potassium, like adding a lot of salt to your diet. But the point im trying to make is that your environment is important for determining what your diet should be so what is "best" could be different depending on where you live, let alone what your genes evolved to efficiently assimilate.
