I've found that if I just do squats for a while my deadlift will generally improve but if I just do deadlifts my squat starts to go down. I think it varies from person to person.

If you are going to skip one or the other for fatigue's sake, I'd say take a loot at your programming as a whole.
If your bench is stalling and you squat low bar, ditch squats and do leg press with squat stance + deadlifts.
If you are squatting high bar and your bench is progressing but then switch from regular deadlifts to RDLs.

I'm not OP, but I do high bar squats, my bench is stalling and my deads are strong...., what about that?

Then it's probably something else that's causing your bench to stall, not your squats :^)

Half of the hip extension in squats and deadlift comes from the adductor magnus. If the hip is flexed, it extends the hip (not just adduction).

Wouldn't that just be adductor? Singular?

you're either half repping the squats or you have monkey arms

        No, I CAN lift 1/2/3/4. I just don’t deadlift >200. No point. I am a father of 3 I don’t give a damn about ego lifting

          This makes no sense.

Why wouldn't you drive your deads up past 200? 200 is pretty lame. HS females do 200 all day...

          315 atleast...

Aesthetically not worth my time and It isn’t worth possibility of throwing my back out or just generally being sore and not being able to pick up my toddlers/baby or their toys and helping clean up. I just do enough so that I kinda feel it but don’t ego lift since all lower body lifts do is increase test to help with upper body. I also played hockey so I have massive legs anyway if anything I wanna slim them down. I squat 3pl8s easy and max out the leg press machine. I guess I COULD get hurt doing that too but it’s literally so easy for me I don’t feel the risk.

Okay? I have a better body, 3 kids, a wife, a home, work 50 hours a week. And still can lift 1/2/3/4 and mog all the other tball dads. Again the question was does deadlifting help you lift more with squats, I don’t know. I only deadlift 2pl8s because it just aint worth it

Staying at an arbitrarily low weight doesn't do anything to reduce chance of injury compared to just not liftibg like a catbacked moron. In fact, you're more likely to injure yourself doing some other exervise because clearly you don't know how to keep proper form or when to stop a rep.

I deadlift the bar to do my squat so they are exactly the same weight for me.

I squat around 320lbs at the moment. Not sure if I am ego lifting or not as I continue to lift the weight and put it back down without blacking out.

When your squat is heavier or the same as your deadlift it is a early programming error...

I made this same mistake and am leaving the squat weight alone for a while until the deads are 40-60lbs higher than my squat.
