Do I just have too much body fat?

Do I just have too much body fat, IST? why is my stomach like this?? I have some form of abs definition going down my sides and I can feel them just right there when I touch my stomach, but then there's just THAT fricking thing on my lower gut. What body fat % is this? do I just focus on losing fat via a caloric deficit while also lifting?

did you lose a bunch of weight? it might be excess skin.

I did actually lose weight, however I read that for it to be excess skin it has to be basically the same elasticity as the top of your hand.

What I have on my stomach I can literally grope, grab, and pull, it does not act like the top of my hand.
      I follow this video:

I'm sure I have loose skin, but there's no way my entire lower stomach is just a big blob of loose skin. It seems to be fat?? idk

I wish I knew for sure. I just want to fix this. My nips are just above where the photo crops off of course

That is 100% loose skin, idiot

then why does it not act like in this video

that anon does not look like he's at 10-12% Body fat. Ignore the front stomach and look at the bulges on his love handles.

OP should probably aim to hit 12% BF first before making the call on excess fat vs excess skin

Do you think I am just being an butthole? That is loose skin, while yes there may be some fat under there, the sagginess not go away even if he starved himself to 5% body fat. It is hanging down because it is loose skin. Fat only starts hanging down when you are really fat. He is like at 22% body fat, at most 10 pounds from having light abs.

          Anonymous

Not really. no, if anything you are being the opposite of an butthole. Loose skin is not something you have to stress over fixing like excess fat. You get skin reduction surgery and call it a day. Fat loss surgeries have no guarantee to work if you just keep eating like a fatso. The problem is if he has excess fat, skin reduction is not going to make him not fat.
22% BF is NOT acceptable fitness levels, anon. That's why I was saying he should drop to 12% before making the call. I've seen images of post weight loss fatties that went full skeleton and the loose skin they ended up with was just a small line hanging on their stomach, it may not be dire enough to warrant surgery to remove, depends on OP. I say eliminate the fat first then see the results and decide what to do next rather than just go for the knife immediately when he's still packing over 20% BF.

Looks like you have more weight to lose, but I would check every other spot that can hold fat like
    >back, glutes, legs, lats/pec area,etc.
Just seems to be unfortunate fat genetics.

Just accept you have abused your body to a no turning point degree and bulk to a powerlifter shape. You will never be thin

In a similar spot to Op anon, how is that comment wrong?

I think he might be wrong but want your take. My take is OP is still way too high of body fat and has almost no muscle on him. I think he is essentially skinnyfat.
I think if he did this in a year it would look wildly better.

        >dermaroll stomach
        >moisturize and drink water more
        >cut 15-20lbs more, 5lbs am month, then bulk 10-12lbs back then cut again

          Anonymous

Because I have cut from fatter then OP to leaner.
No crazy ab veins or anything but there wasn't really any fat anywhere to grab.
I agree that OP needs to keep cutting, but he can become skinny. IMO all he needs is 10-15lbs of weight loss, maybe more depending on what his legs+back hold.

As you said he will have 0 muscle but if he wants to be thin it can happen. I did it at 25 and had none of the so called "loose skin" but I only dropped a total of 30-35lbs.

OP here, sorry I was wrapped up with near year shit.

I probably should have posted this in my first post but I am currently 5'9 and 148lbs. According to bio scale I am 14.5% body fat, but I don't trust those thigns at all so I add 2% and assume I'm currently 16.5% BF. I do want to just think that losing more weight will help, but I guess what is kinda odd for me is I feel at 148lbs at my height I should just be skinner than this?

maybe my height is just too short? like it's an odd thought to think I have to drop 10-15 more lbs to kill off my stomach fat (assuming it is indeed fat) I'd literally be like 130lbs by the end of this. That is...freakishly low a number, but hey if that's what it takes then that's what I'll do. Like some anon said earlier, my goal right now is to hit 12% BF and see what I look like. Also yes my arms, thighs, glutes, etc. I have fat in all those places as well, I mean not IMMENSE amounts of fat but I can right now go to my thighs, grope it with my hand, and there's fat there to grope.

You dont knkw his age or how fat he got before losing weight and taking this pic. Every persons body is different

I lost 102lbs. It took me a year, I did not do some insane lose 20+lbs a month diet or even fasting, I just cut calories to -500 under TDEE and lifted to try and spare muscles, but obviously I retained little muscle. I still am on a cut and I lift, with the goal still being to drop more fat.

Its definetly loose skin. Especially by how fast you loose your weight and how fat you were. Unfortunately you are reaping what you sow

I can just get skin reduction surgery, but my problem is that doesn't explain the rest of my body. Why do I still have fat in other places then?

I still feel what is going on with my stomach cannot be 100% loose skin, it's there, I can see the loose at the bottom sure, but I still feel there's fat to be lost before I make the final decision on surgery or not for the skin. I'm not even 12% body fat yet

                Anonymous

that's not enough loose skin to warrant surgery. you are being hypercritical of yourself and a huge frankenstein scar would look worse

Are you lifting dude? Maybe you are losing muscle instead of fat

I very much am. I lift around 3-4 times a week and maintain high protein intake daily even on off days. I'm inevitably losing some muscle on a cut, but there's no way the majority of my weight loss these days is muscle and not fat. I'm not some power lifter but there's no way with all the lifting and protein that I'm not retaining muscle to a degree.

OP, how long have you been lifting?

I am in the same boat as you, and now I am worried I will have no muscles at the end even though I am lifting.

      >abused your body to a no turning point degree
Save up for a tummy tuck for fricks sake it's one of the most routine plastic surgeries because countless women have it. More and more ex fatties will need it.
You need to commit to losing all your excess weight first though. Go in as skinny as you can be. They will suck out a bunch of lipids from your fatty days so you'll lose more weight too.

I had the same issue as OP. Lost a lot of weight and at the end had the same sort of pouch looking thing on my stomach.

My advice? Stop eating for 3x weeks and it goes away. Sip small amounts of water during the fast and lift light weights.

Not OP but how exactly does that fix that

        Anonymous

my guess is the body will use the fat, skin, etc that is making up his pouch if he goes on a huge caloric deficit.

At this point it might be worth it since he has no muscle anyways.

Not sure. I did the week fast and noticed the pouch became a lot softer and shrunk a bit. After week 3 it was nearly gone. Guess it just an extreme way to strip a lot of body fat quickly. Worked tho.

OP needs to lose weight first then worry about skin after. Why bother getting skin surgery when you still have body fat to dispose

This needs surgery to fully fix. It's beyond any natural methods. Will cost about $10K at a Plastic Surgeon in USA or $4K in South East Asia.

OP keep in mind that when you drop body fat it also helps to "push back" the skin in front of your stomach (really it's just your muscles pushing forward) while you will 100% have loose skin, it may look less droopy once all the fat has been removed.

Do what other anons have said. Lose your body fat first and just save for a tummy tuck. If the excess skin looks too off putting for you by the time you hit 10% bf then go for the surgery. Ignore morons that are saying to go for surgery right now, there's no reason not to at least wait till you lose all your fat before considering what to do next.

    >not one person has suggest the use of a skin compression suit

The frick? this is literally what doctors make you use for x amount of months after liposuctions and what pregnant chicks use after giving birth to help pull back skin. It may not be a miracle product but if it helps it helps. Are you all just use scared of tight fabric or something
