          its true though. your muscles are the result of hormones, period. exertion only stimulates hormones, it does not "build" muscle, your body can build muscle any time it wants to for any reason. exercise is just trying to make your brain think you should be bigger. hormones are how it does that. exercise just creates guidance. inject a myostatin inhibitor and you will become a supermutant doing nothing but eating candy.

        That study put dudes on 600 mg/week testosterone and didn't differentiate between water weight and muscle.
        If I was in a study like that, I'd lift anyway though. Or try taking up wrestling and/or gymnastics just during the cycle.

        No. You misread the study. Taking medication such as testosterone without resistance training increases all lean mass. Read: lean mass = anything excluding adipose tissue. Your gains are 2lbs of muscle and 8lbs of water untrained on gear. Enjoy.

        muscle tissue does recover faster but if you dont take alot of rest days you will get CNS fatigue and just poor recovery/performance in general.
        One of the main reasons blasts are only 3-4 months is because you're just too burned out to keep going.

        Some steroids do this more than others.
        If you take anadrol your lifts increase almost immediately, but you didnt gain muscle overnight. And as soon as you stop and it clears your system you lose all that strength.

    Yes, mens natural testosterone allows them to gain muscle just sitting on the couch. This is why the average untrained man is stronger and more muscular than the average untrained woman.
    It's due to testosterone, testosterone literally causes your muscles to grow doing nothing, just existing going about your day. This divergence between men and women starts to occur during puberty. Before puberty, boys and girls have about the same muscle mass and strength.

    Look at these graphs, it shows the standing long jump in children from ages 5 thru 18. Boys and girls have the same performance up to around age 11, then girls peak at age 12-13, then their power to weight ratio gets worse as they go past age 13 and they lose athleticism. This is because women continue to grow and get heavier during puberty but its mostly fat on their hips and breasts which and their muscles can't keep up with the extra weight.

    With boys testosterone kicks in during puberty and they explode in muscle and strength literally doing nothing, just existing they continue to get stronger and more muscular and their power to weight ratio keeps increasing all the way to age 18 and beyond, as testosterone causes the muscles to get bigger and stronger doing nothing but living their lives as normal teens do, they don't even lift weights.

    Testosterone/steroids builds muscle just sitting on the couch. A significant proportion of a steroid users muscle mass is from the steroids alone with the remainder due to training. Their total muscle mass represents the muscle mass they gain from training alone (eg natural gains), plus the muscle mass the steroids give them doing nothing but sitting on a couch. In the same way, a significant amount of muscle a natural man has is due to natural testosterone and sitting on a couch untrained, and the rest comes from training. Steroid levels determine the baseline muscle mass and training add to it.
