Do prisoners actually know what they're doing or do they just compensate by being able to workout more and getting better rest?

Why aren't those subhumans tested for PED's and thrown in the hole for trafficking contraband? Is it because the CO's are the one selling them roids?

Roids tests are expensive and take resources. Same reason they don't just test everyone for drugs.

whoa, didn't know inmates could make selfies with their phones in prison.

Cellphones are a huge problem In prisons. Google it.
Criminals like "tay-k" has tweeted and posted pictures while inside. it's VERY common. I wrote a friend online while he was incarcerated.

Your average chow is absolute dogshit, and you'll never be given enough food to gain muscle. The only jacked prisoners who stay that way while inside for a long time have a lot going for them. They're locked up in a certain level of facility where they're afforded privileges like a commissary. They have people on the outside putting money into their account. Thats the only way they're actually able to get enough calories to maintain a physique with shit like candy bars, tuna packets, ramen, etc.
There is a ton of complexity to the bureau of prisons and how shit is run. Your average offender who did some violent shit is never getting jacked on the inside.

Some prisons host powerlifting meet though.

idk sounds like bs. I've seen a lot of prison documentaries in the higher security prisons and there's a lot of big dudes

They were big before they went in. Not all prisoners have access to commissary, not all prisoners have access to TVs and microwaves, not all prisoners get let out of their cells into general pop common areas or have the ability to access any sort of gym equipment at all. It entirely depends on the facility you're in and what sort of offender you are.

Yes they don't over complicate working out. If something needs strengthening they strengthen it. It's that simple.

the more I read and listen to ex cons the more I realise they are full of shit
they all have insane egos, constantly using their ex con piece of shit status as some sort of life achievement making them better than everyone else, they push these made up fairy tales about how prisoners train and eat and how their "mindset" is so fantastical that it lets them secrete 2x more testosterone or some fricking bullshit like that when in fact prisoners eat like shit are always stressed out and also train like shit.

My brother has been in and out of jail. They simply are not capable of adapting to society. I am not either, but I don't make a big deal about it and cry about being left out of the group. There are plenty of cool normal people and there are plenty of cool prisoners, but as a whole they're incapable of getting along with each other and I am not capable of bridging the gap with every single mfer so I cannot be bothered sadly.

I am currently dealing with a guy who got out after serving 10 years and it's just sad how he thinks he's still hot shit and had any pull. No one wants anything to do with him anymore, everyone from his past has moved on and he thinks he's still well connected and could intimidate and manipulate others to get what he wants. Also, more on topic, he is skinny as frick and walks around as if he was jacked, it's pathetic. For the most part they all seem to be completely deluded.

This. They're also mostly manlet goblins with weird tiny heads. As far as I'm concerned they're practically a different species of animal entirely.

the ones that act like they are beyond their time spent in jail or prison eventually all end up using their jail time as some bullshit "badass" street credential to gather the approval and respect of others
I see this shit all the time from the rare piece of shit ex cons that pretend they want to leave their past behind, they never actually do it and always resort to it as some sort of dick measuring contest

We had an ex-con here who posted about his time. Apparently inmates have this strong belief that muscle gained from bodyweight exercises like pull-ups lasts better than muscle gained from lifting. Also nobody does legs or abs or anything, only ever upper body.

      >muscle gained from bodyweight exercises like pull-ups lasts better than muscle gained from lifting
That's scientifically correct though. Fast twitch muscle fiber associated with heavy lifting is much more likely to be atrophied by your body than muscle tissue with higher "endurance" (more mitochondria).
You need both to not look dyel, though.

Fast twitch muscle fiber associated with heavy lifting

I thought it was slow twitch for heavy lifting and fast twitch for powerful moves like punching and jumping sprinting ?

I'm no sports medicine major I'm just parroting what I read in a Men's Health fitness guide.
The idea behind fast twitch I thought is that you exert a lot of force in a short amount of time to jerk or push the weight in a specific direction.

Ah I see. That might be closer to power lifting rather than bog standard bench press. But then again I'm no major either
