so whats so good about them and can i do them instead of the normal squat

You absolutely can. Back squats are memeshit that don't translate well into other lifts

      I like split squats more

split squats are accessories that you should do along with front squats

i love front squats so much

      based

I do. My 1rm for these is 295 lbs. I'm unironically one of the strongest front squatters at my gym tbh.

My 1rm is 285 and I'm one of the strongest front squatters in MY gym. You are now my rival.

Based. I'm gonna go to the gym later to do front squats now so that I reach 315 before you do

Frick, my next leg day isn't until Tuesday. I hope to hit 315 before the semester ends in a few weeks.

no, I am taking a break from lifting to focus on calisthenics.
for legs I do pistol squats, jump squats and bridges.
I don't train calves because I have big calves from being overweight as a child.

I use roughly 80%-ish of my backsquat weight on front squats, but I've already done 3 sets of back squats by that point so the actual strength is probably more like 85%. I use the exact same parameters on both lifts as well (depth, tempo, etc) so there's no other confounding variables here

Is front squat ATG with 335lbs for 5 reps good?

Post a video. depends entirely on how your form is

I don't film myself. I use normal olympic hand position, keep an upright posture, and don't round my back if that's what you're asking
