Most people mess up the color theory, so don't get the proper stimulus. You NEED to start with a yellow one, or else you're wasting your time at best or snapping yourself at worst.
>Just do crunches + leg raises, these actually work and stretch the muscle >Static hold is only worth doing if you're extremely weak
you are an actual idiot, bridges and planks aren't ab muscle exercises, they're stability exercises. you probably can't even do a frickin tree pose like half the inflexible, unbalanced goons here.
now ask yourself if your lifts would be higher if youre stable enough to do that
stuff like that is great for you in general. im really glad i randomly started doing yoga. you really have to learn how to get into poses like that properly though it takes time
im a fan of bridges and planks though. ab rollers im not a fan of because ive seen someone smash their fricking face into the floor using one, lol

These exercises where you hold one pose for a long time really annoy me, just not my thing
I've been drinking all night and I could hold warrior 3 pose for a 10 count. I hate yoga or more specifically people that shill it. It will never get you in shape. Lift heavy, practice a sport and stay lean. Sucking off a white dude with dreadlocks at the nearest stripmall won't get you into shape or help your "spiritual health"
Yoga isn't for bodybuilding, it's for developing and maintaining flexibility and mobility. You're not going to stay healthy as you age without a stretching/mobility routine and yoga is by far the best one there is.

moronic shill take. if yogas fun to you go for it, butcthere's nothing inherently better about it. its as good as any competent stretching routine is. also proper lifting keeps you mobile. balancing moronic poses is skill work and has nothing to do with health

> Balancing technical movements has nothing to do with he-aackckkk!!
They are probably going to be best for static strength; building stability in your core and hips in a way that is useful for stabilizing yourself when you squat/DL and need to have rigidity in your core as well as not having your hips and knees twisting or moving laterally. However, as an exercise for nice-looking abs, you should really prioritize something that takes you through a full contraction/extension, a full long range of motion, rather than an isometric hold. Something like crunches, bicycles, cable ab contractions, etc
Planks work for me. I have abs after losing 40 pounds that I don't think would have shown up without planking, and they started showing up even when I was over 15% body fat. I don't do any other ab work and I've been doing planks for about half a year.
I started with 3 sets of 1-minute planks, three times a week, and worked my way up to 3 sets of 2-minute planks. These days I just do a single 4-minute plank once a week to maintain because I'm lazy.
theyre good for core strength from a performance standpoint, and will help you get a flatter stomach and better posture, but they wont train your 6 pack like crunches and leg raises will
Just do crunches + leg raises, these actually work and stretch the muscle
Static hold is only worth doing if you're extremely weak
Are ab rollers a meme?
Never tried one
Nope, but easy to frick up your back if you have crap form and weak muscles.
OP here. I said frick it and bought one.
Looks like diet raiden here doesn't even have abs so I'm a little skeptical; if he's a dyel I'm fricked.
he looks like a fricking psycho on the side
Yeah he doesn't look ok.
He looks like hes about to steal your petrol
>I am the storm that is approaching
This man knows something we don't
yeah ab balls are much better and do everything the roller would do

No just make sure you understand the difference between red/yellow/green etc.

Just tested it, I can do the tree pose
congrats youre a 75 year old chinese woman, now do warrior 3 properly. i take about 10 seconds to go in and out of the pose
yeah this one is a no, I'm all wonky
now ask yourself if your lifts would be higher if youre stable enough to do that

do other core workouts. not just planking.
It’s literally just staying in one place with no added weight. You should be able to do it indefinitely. Frick you for making this thread
Are you moronic?

moron.
>I've been doing planks for months and they still hurt just as much as when I started.
that indicates that you have no core strength at all, not that the planks aren't doing anything.

abs are really genetic, it sounds like you have big abs
They are the ultimate core strengthening exercise. Do side planks too
Can i just do sitted plants, aka flexing my abs while working in front of pc and get amazing 6 pack?
whenever an exercise infographic has a female model it should instantly tell you that that exercise is useless
>I've been doing planks for months
How long can you hold?
