100g of pasta has 15g of protein. 100g of bread has 7g of protein. 200ml of milk has 7g protein.

it has more protein than food that has no protein. its not completely nutritionally empty

      >"is nutritious" is synonymous with "contains protein"
      Does IST - Fitness really?

yes people here are fricking moronic and they think they are experts in nutrition and training.
99,99999% of people would say that eating 1500kcal just boiled chicken and rice is "healthy" despite being deficient in every single nutrient. and not to mention that being deficit in calories to begin with is anything but healthy. it's better of the two evil if you are morbidly obese but the catabolic state itself is not healthy at all.

I often just mix flour and water together, add one raw egg (it could be more), pour the goo on a pan for 10 min and voila. Serve it with peanut butter or some sauces.

Enjoy your cardboard bread. Get a good recipe and practice it. True bread making takes time and patience. I enjoying using honey or molasses and spices like caraway and fennel in my bread. I also use milk too.

    >do we NEED bread
no but it won't kill you to eat it
perhaps not the best idea where to put your calories on a cut but otherwise it's not unhealthy
obviously not talking about the sugar goybean oil sponge Amerisharts call "bread"

bread (and the regulation of it) is probably the reason for urbanization and enabled the industrial revolution. it's calorie dense, it's mass produced. you bring home a loaf of bread a day and feed your family. give the children bread and butter and they will be content. literally a phrase to represent "food staple"

that being said it's completely unnecessary for someone taking responsibility for their diet and trying to hit their macros

    No.

    >Does it have ANY nutritional value at all?
It's main function is to provide energy, and some protein btw. So if you are eating 2500 kcal, you can have 1500 kcal from high nutritional value foods and the rest from bread, rice or, if you are a ketobro, lard.

I can understand why ketogays hate bread if they've only had the sliced bread in supermarkets. It has no flavor and sucks the flavor out of anything you eat it with.

The cheap wheat bread from malls, hardly. Homebaked wheat+rye bread, yes.

A sourdough with whole grain flour is nutritionally dense; loads of minerals and vitamins.

Combine wholemeal flour flatbreads with pulses and legumes and you're providing a full complement of essential amino acids.

We definitely don't really need it but life would be less energy it.

we don't really need any type of food. We can exist for a while only eating meat or veggies or fruits. Not a great idea but it's possible. Bread is amazing, tastes amazing and it's lovely to bake. I always bake oregano cheese and bacon bread. not a good idea if in a cut tho
