Do you believe in God?
Lifting has helped me a lot mentally and physically, would improving my spirituality help me even more? I have been irreligious for almost all my life but I do believe in the possibility of a higher power and in doing good to others in the hope that others will do the same. I genuinely believe that the future will be better for all of us.
I'm my own god, now have a nice day OP.
Man I could, but there are too many homies that need my help and too many weak people that haven't been bullied yet.
How many rupees for god sirs?
For you my friend I will give good deal, 1 Bible/Quran for you to use 1 can of deodorant
I think God is real but he's neither benevolent nor omnipotent and he's not going to reward you for doing "good" things because he has no reason to give a frick about you specifically. And I don't understand how people can believe in shit like karma when good people get absolutely fricked over every day while buttholes and snakes prosper. Also how the frick would "spirituality" help with lifting?
the entire belief of karma is intrinsically linked to an afterlife you fricking moron holy shit morons like you absolutely blow my mind with how stupid you sound
I dont believe in afterlife relax Pedro
yeah, obviously you fricking moron, so stop pretending like karma applies to your worldview and then claim "it doesnt work" when it is intrinsically incompatible with your worldview. i hope your parents called you dumb growing up.
That's an interesting way to look at God, I somewhat agree that if God is real he probably doesn't care if you lie or whatnot. I don't quite believe in karma per se, more so the idea that people who you help may go on to do the same for others, but I def don't believe that because you stepped on a snail you will have something bad happen to you.
In terms of how spirituality relates to lifting, I feel like in many ways the modern world tries to bring you down, encourages poisonous mindsets and beliefs. Being demotivated or encouraged to hold nihilistic/pessimistic views is encouraged, spirituality/religion tends to give people a lot of people hope or courage to face these sorts of challenges from what I have seen (pic rel).
Yes
I enjoy the netti netti method (meaning not this, not this)
Interesting!
At some point I worked out that my epistemology favors a 'necessarily' incomplete view of sentience, so it's fun to think that anything that can be named is a human invention.
Indeed, sometimes I think the human need to always categorise/explain what something is often hyped over the "why" something is the way it is. I will give that Neti Neti some more looking into
You’ll get more spiritual gains from psilocybin mushrooms than you will from believing in God.
Even if that's true, I'm not sure I want to see all the appliances in my kitchen look like they're breathing heavy
What an odd excuse to avoid psychedelics. Go outdoors instead if you don’t want to see “appliances in your kitchen” while tripping. Visuals are only part of the psychedelic experience. You sound like a pussy making up excuses to protect your ego from the pyschedelic experience. Also explains why you’re asking fricking IST for advice on believing in God.
I'm looking at spirituality from a "how to give yourself a stronger foundation" when navigating life, as much as I want to lift it does not exist in a vacuum and sometimes things can happen which demotivate you or cause you to wonder why you're bothering doing anything at all. I'm glad you at least have found something which helps you Anon, I just do not believe shrooms are the answer that I like
I lost my faith when i realised that 99% of what people do is exactly what a chimpanzee would do if it had more brain power.
What makes you say that Anon?
I have recently came to the organic conclusion that God is the Sun and so I revere it accordingly

>For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come
Oh very fascinating!
Not to be rude to any christcucks out there, but I don't need the bible or God to tell me to be a good person; I just want to be a good person by default.
Agreed, I don't think being religious is a necessity to being morally good. Viewing religion/spirituality more as a source for making yourself more grounded and hopeful or at least more resistant to nihilism and other things that can break you down.
Without God there is no good person or bad person. Only will to power. There is only pleasant ot unpleasant.
Christianity improves my life constantly in every way shape and form.
Were you raised Christian?
I have rediscovered my faith in Christianity and god and realised that all these years i just accepted something as the truth without seeking explanation or a reason through Christianity.
i think that now spiritually im improving and that edgelord phase in my life is finally gone.
I'll give christianity some credit in that it's shown as a choice.
