You could stick with it and get fat adapted.

Huh. So cutting I primarily cut out carbs to load up on protein. It's not healthy long term since I'm relying heavily on jerky, whey protein, and steaks but my lifts increased.

Yeah you're cutting, I used to be a skeleton around 4 months ago, lean and not skinnyfat, so I had to eat more carbs and up calories in general to increase my lifts. I have a bit of fat now, but not to the point where I can rely on it for energy. Can't tell you any percentages, but I can see my abs with a flex, but the lower 2 are obscured with fat when relaxed, versus seeing them clearly 4 months ago. Can afford to actually cut later down the road though, not bloatmaxxing like a moron and dealing with the consequences.

        >jerky
        >whey protein
Dude just eat real food. Just eat more meat and eggs
Yes I know whey protein and jerky are “real” food, but they’re processed foods. And no they’re not gonna kill you and no they’re not really even bad for you probably, but they’re not gonna be as satiating as real food. The only time I would recommend those foods is if you’re on the go. Like if you wanna hit the gym after work on your way home, then yeah, maybe it makes sense to have a 20-30g protein 200-300 calorie “snack” immediately after/before you lift. But otherwise just put up with a little hunger and prepare real food in your kitchen
You don’t even need 1 gram protein per pound of body weight but if you just eat more meat and eggs you’ll get that EASILY

Yes. They are the human body’s preferred energy choice.

If you eat carbs you will have to burn them. If you eat few carbs your body can use glucose or fat

    Yes, i eat carbs.
Because i live with other people who eat shitloads of carbs.
I’ve been getting them to eat way more meat.
At this point we’re at a pretty good compromise.
I have some bread, oats, veggies and fruit every day, and i also get to cook shitloads of meat and feed it to all of us.
At this point i am barbecuing or smoking meat at least once a week, and my goal is to always have a container of cooked meat in the refrigerator always accessible so that when im hungry for breakfast, lunch or dinner, if im not eating with other people, i can just reheat some meat. MmMmm, meat

anon, not a ketogay but can't you just reduce your carb portion sizes if it doesn't fit your macros? Would saying no to too much bread or rice and shit make them ask too many questions? You clearly have your protein and fat sources figured out. Not a case of carbs being the only food available and having to eat higher carb like them.

        >can't you just reduce your carb portion sizes if it doesn't fit your macros
In theory yes. Because my MeNtAL iLLnEsS, I can see calories, just like neo sees people when he looks at computer screens streaming numbers in the matrix.
So, I can look at the normie food and reasonably identify what’s higher in calories, and accordingly take only half a portion, serving, etc.
If I could I would just avoid it completely but if I just have half a slice of toast, or a hamburger bun with my hamburger (I actually baked some buns earlier this afternoon, followed a King Arthur Baking bun recipe, turned out great)
It’s tough though because all those carb-y things don’t really make me feel full, but they’re often high in calories. That’s not a winning combination lol.
I’ll have more of the low calorie carbs for example i will take extra vegetables, and i will either outright avoid the simple carbs like rice/potatoes/bread, or have a very small amount of it. And the main item is always meat, although, have you ever looked to see how large a quantity of meat is that equals 250-400 calories? It looks laughably small.
so I was following “volume eating” forums, that shit is mental illness. We don’t need to “volume eat”. Even though a little 4oz chunk of meat can fit in my hand, and LOOKS small… I mean, when you eat it, you feel satiated. And if not, wait 15 minutes. Ya feel satiated. This kind of knowledge has fixed my binge eating disorder.
        I’m just kinda blathering on…
        >if it doesn’t fit your macros
Macros are kinda a joke… im just talking shit like you don’t NEED carbs but they aren’t really BAD for you either… I think the thing we all NEED is fat, we all need 35 grams at a MINIMUM every day. And when i am counting macros/calories, i try to get at least 60% of my calories from fat. But i don’t count calories much anymore because it causes me to start disordered eating.

Yeah you can eat like 10 donuts and still be hungry in 3 hours, likewise with alot of bread, rice, and baked goods with no fiber. Hitting your calorie limit while eating carbs and having to not eat anything else is pure pain.

It’s funny once i started having just a tiny amount of carbs with most meals, my family/mom stopped passive aggressively attacking me every time i entered the kitchen, stopped pickling fights every time i would sit down to eat, etc. from my point of view im getting 20% or less of my nutrients from carbs most days, but because of how low calorie veggies and fruits etc are, to my family’s uneducated eyes, it looks like im eating a “balanced” diet… lol no it’s mostly meat and fat and protein. Protein brotein gotta get them gainssss hitting the gym 3x a week full body, 60 mins kettlebell swings every day, and now im getting into steel mace training (vinyasa flow, it’s from India and ancient as frick, super fun)

I accidentally had a no carb day, didn't eat before my workout the next day, and had a shit workout.
I am going to eat my carbs an hour or two pre workout and then reduce my calories after since I am cutting.

I find, when im eating carbs, that if i eat plenty of them, i will get a boost before a run/workout.
However if i do zero carb, then after a ~3ish day transition period, my performance in the gym/on the trail doesn’t fluctuate. No need for carb loading / carb boosts
