Do you guys also need to eat before a workout? I feel like I can't do a good workout without at least eating something. Especially in the morning.

    Yeah I try to eat something with carbs and fat before I work out. Fasted workouts are a meme. The difference in performance, whether it's weights or cardio is staggering.

      cant even imagine doing a "fasted workout", that seems completely backwards.
      i usually have a cup of rice and eggs or turkey like an hour before my workout. lots of water too

            i honestly dont even know what that means, i just agree with the first part of that guys post about breakfast being important, especially if you do your workouts in the morning.
            my workout performance on an empty stomach vs having rice and protein, or a bagel and protein, is a night and day difference

              Breakfast isn't important. It's especially unimportant if you do your workouts in the morning. It turns out there is a store of carbohydrates in your muscles. As much as 600g. It's called glycogen. The vast majority if not all of the carbohydrates used during exercise are from glycogen.

    For me it's the insatiable hunger after a workout. I have a protein shake and some other carbs but never feel entirely full.

    I lift weights first thing in the morning, no breakfast. Just wake up, brush teeth, shit, and go straight to the gym. Basically conditioned myself to not eat until I get home and shower. Been doing it for years

    I need energy before going to the gym. Usually drink a small amount of protein and some peanut butter. Getting hungry at the gym reduces my motivation.

    It is important to eat before or after you workout. If you choose to workout fasted, eat after the workout to give your muscles nutrients.

    if I've been eating regular meals then yeah I'll eat before workout. but if I'm been so busy recently that I've already gone more than a day without food then I'll continue to skip meals if Ive already planned to workout soon
