My dad and granddad were quite buff back in the day. So basically yeah, i do think about my ancestors

Yes I do. Every day in ISTness and all pursuits of the day and life. Always remember.

    Yes.

I've been told since I was a kid that I was lucky to be born in europe and that my life would be unimaginably worse if I were born on the other side of the mediterranean sea.
What they omitted is that my luck was created by every single one of my ancestors.
They worked hard, they survived the famines and the epidemics (one third of europe died during the black plage yet my ancestors survived) and they subjugated the rest of the world, for me to reap the benefits.

I try to remind this to myself everyday.

No because your ancestors aren't noble like thinks. They didn't choose to not be fat potheads because they didn't have the temptation. Don't forget you're the product of rape, needless incest, and adultery. They mixed tribes and nations at the distaste of their own ancestors. They probably liked seeing lesbian sex but thought gay guys are cringe.

I can directly trace my ancestry back through multiple generations of hardworking craftsmen and (mainly) farmers, with some few exceptions being in cavalry during war.
Your "uhm ackhtually sweaty" won't work on me.

          Kek.

they arguably weren't, when did I imply that? they were arguably hardworking poor people for the most part. there are some funny exceptions though, where my favourite is
            >father and son are farmers, like hunting with muskets
            >father, son, and father's friend go out hunting
            >father's friend trips, shoots father, father falls
            >son sees father falls, in rage shoots father's friend
            >everyone involved survives with flesh wounds

              Anonymous

'hardworking' in most cases is subsisting. Something that has to be done to exist. Which you will do for yourself no questions asked. If your ancestors were craftspeople, why weren't they kings? Would they not be one if they could? Maybe they were at some point, but not for long. That's not really unique. Maybe you come from a line of good people to take pride in.
But if you come from a mix of people who survived, did the right thing, or fricked up endlessly then what makes them so special? I'm not saying not to be appreciative of some aspects, but damn it's not something you need to push yourself with. I would be much more motivated by looking forward to my own accomplishments.

The question wasnt wether you aspire to live like them in every aspect but to believe in sharing the traits they needed to survive times of hardship.

Based farmer chad no shame in that mutton is lovely if made right and sheep are very very beautiful creatures. I would love to spend my days growing potatoes and very closely caring for the sheep. I would be intimately involved in caring for the sheep, a beautiful animal. Sheep need to be cared for intensely and I would love to intensely watch my sheep do everything, from pissing to eating, if it meant caring for them. God I love sheep uuuh

Definitely. While studying evolutionary biology and neuroscience I learned so much about different environmental pressures that have conditioned our species to survive circumstances far more extreme than we ever experience in modern society. Just the knowledge and feeling that I'm fundamentally built for much harsher physical struggles than those of ordinary live is a very reliable supply of energy and motivation.

    OP here(yeah new IP, phoneposter)
i recently learned about my ancestry
    my grandfather immigrated from Greece
even though my body is a blond american, my SOVL is Roman.
Western Rome fell to the hands of Goths, but its people didn't
Constantinopolis fell to the Ottomans, but its people didn't.
the blood of Romans, and its 2000 years of history flow through my veins
I believe Rome will be rebuilt one day

Yes, I do. My great grandfather was a prussian hussar, and while I often think of myself as a coward, I daydream of trampling enemies under hoof and explain my ability to get up early and work out before work (normies just cant comprehend soemthing like this) as a trait of prussian heritage.
But like I said, in many other things I'm straight up lazy and not very brave, so I dont see my whole personality like this.

My great granddad was executed by commies. He was an educated man, a veterinarian. And commie scum didn't like that.
They called him for an interrogation and he went right away, leaving his soup on the table. His wife got the word that he's been executed before the soup was cold.
    I lift to kill communists.
