I started taking ashwagandha 2 days ago. It's so cheap it's worth trying for my anxiety. At least I'll probably get some placebo, which is better than nothing.

I recommend valerian root extract for anxiety. Also magnesium supplementing.

Why magnesium? Isn't its purpose to metabolize zinc, or is there something else it does?

I have mild panic attacks if I spend the weekend boozing and the body is depleted. Magnesium (never on an empty stomach) helps regain my balance.

Thanks, I'm looking into valerian root. How do you prefer to dose it? In my country I can either buy 100 pills of 500mg for like $12, or I can buy 80 pills of 200mg for $22. It seems like the best dosage is about 200mg 3 times per day, because a larger dose can make you sleepy. Should I buy the more expensive one for this reason?

We have "regular" ones, with 35mg, recommended 1-2 tabs 3x a day if stressed, or 1 tab before sleep (if you have trouble falling asleep because of thinking of a zillion things in bed). I take one in the morning and thats it, or in the evening as aforementioned. I also do only take one of them on monday morning after said heavy drinking and jitters. I rarely take two in a week, some weeks I go completely without.

There is a Forte variant at 87mg and it quite a one-hit-shot, I took one and glided through a 300km car journey. The actual effect was "I didnt even notice anything". No tiredness, no sedation, no panic, just a weird general subconscious emotional suppression, while keeping your focus.

Be wary of dubious online merchants, as there are dosages as high as 500mg, as it does not yet have a recommended general dosage being set by the EU or US.

*after rereading your post, I would get the smallest dosage and start there, if you dont feel it, you can always take two of the smaller tabs or in increased intervals. I wouldnt start off with 200mg either, but depends on your sensitivity to the stuff.

Thanks man, I bought 250mg pills because it was a decent price, and I can always just cut the shit in half I guess. Worth a shot at least.

It's one of if not the most important minerals needed for hundreds of processes in the body. Most people are deficient in it.

Not him but be aware that valerian root causes or worsens depression in some people. If you find yourself depressed for no reason, discontinue the valerian root. It's still worth a try though.

If you already acknowledged that something you're using might be a placebo then it's no longer effective

Placebo works even when you know it's bs, so in this case, where I'm not even sure, it probably will work.

Vitamin D and Magnesium the only supplements you really need if you eat a balanced diet. I also take Omega 3 because I rarely eat fish.

Why do you need magnesium if you have a good diet?

I take a whole bunch of shit. Niacinamide, methyfolate, fish oil, etc. By the way, coq10 doesn't work as effectively as Ubiquinol. But ubiquinol costs more.

Vitamin B pills. Makes my piss fluorescent, and I turn bright red when I have enough. (Actually like this, makes me look bronzed, without the UV damage)

Also about 20,000 IU vitamin D3. Yeah, I read that dodgy study about it increasing dick size.

    Fish oil because I'm moronic.
