I play a shit ton of wow and some Planetside 2. Have to balance raiding and home life with gf with gym
I play them mostly when I've worked out really hard and am too sore to do anything.

not really. there's nothing stopping you from working out and playing some video games
ive tried quitting wow but the addiction crawled back to me, used to be 16 hours on it everyday for 5 years
nowadays i only raid/play on saturdays/sundays which are my gym rest days
Nope. I sometimes play Fallout New Vegas to chill, or emulate some old stuff. I grew out of games after puberty.
FPBP. I genuinely believe investing time into (non-competitive/professional) games in adulthood is unhealthy. If you treat it as watching a movie or something it's fine, but if it's your hobby you're wasting your time, there's much more to life.
Multiplayer games are typically made to make you waste as much time as possible on grinding for relatively useless things(ranks, weapons, cosmetic items). Unless you genuinely enjoy every minute of playtime, stay the fuck away from them
Single player games typically prioritise being good fucking games over just making you sink countless hours into them. Shit like Skyrim, borderlands, dark souls/bloodborne/sekiro can feel Grindy at times, but you can definitely play through these games and enjoy them fully without grinding for best items/gear. Singleplayer games are chill and relaxing, whereas multiplayer games are typically more engaging and at times more fun, especially with friends.
As this Anon:
Said, having videogames as a genuine hobby into adulthood seems to me atleast, to be unhealthy and honestly a sign of lacking character. Treating it as the waste of time(relaxation and time to destress) it is, is fine though. Moderation in this case is at most 10 hours a week as I see it.
This is so true I barely have enough time in the day to get the things I want to do done. I probably have two hours or less of free time every day. The last weekend I had to, I think I had maybe an hour of free time on Friday Saturday and Sunday. I was constantly going from event and thing to the next event or thing. In my opinion you're not living in life right if you have enough time to be sitting around on your ass watching TV and playing video games
this, all those 'hard-workers' are just npc's who fell for the work hard meme. I work 10 hours x 4 days per week and friday sat sund i game all day and lift in the morning
>this, all those 'hard-workers' are just npc's who fell for the work hard meme
its painful how true this is. working hard only makes your manager think you actually enjoy the grunt work and you'll just stay there forever. You need to network, socialize and be liked by your superiors in order to move up. I learned this the hard way.
China will eventually replace America because westerners have the luxury of being complacent.
Chinese multiply like bugs and have the work culture of bugs. Their population is alone will assure this.
Prepare to be zerg’d white man. Your forefathers toiled so you may enjoy the waning decades of your status as a superpower.
life is a gains goblin. If you're NPC who always need to be on productive mode and earning shekels for your boss is your meaning of life then lower your tone when talking to me
>Oy vey! Why don't you work more goyim!? Why don't you buy more things to entertain you!? You aren't antisemtic are you?
>Total losers that think the only thing you could possibly be doing if you're not gaming is waging
Truly pathetic.
I stopped gaming a lot around 2015 when I was still a teenager but the last time I played a game on my own was when red dead redemption 2 came out. I skipped the gym about half the time and didn’t socialize once for two weeks while I played through it. I felt like absolute shit at the end. Since then I’ve kinda sworn off gaming
I think this is over stated. I used to be an fgc guy and I gave it up in 2019 after the pandemic killed everything and I decided to focus on not being an incel and do more social things.
I keep comparing myself to normies to try to figure out if I am living my life right but I find normies only have two activities, watching netflix and drinking, both of which are living much less than when I was heavily invested in fighting games.
Nothing is worse than going to a social event, asking people about themselves and learning they don't do anything and have nothing to offer.
I just try to focus on active hobbies and hobby groups.
I still think video games can offer a more involved life than what most normies are doing but it still an unfulfilling one.
you have a good point and games taught me a lot of things but i think the biggest factor was the dopamine hits
i was chasing achievements in game and rare shit just so i could get mired by other players and get the dopamine hit
inside my head as a teenager i was like, why the fuck would i lift, work, study when i can get all this dopamine for free without doing anything in a beautiful fantasy world?
maybe thats why normies are always into console and singleplayer games
I think single player games are no different from Netflix or other normie shit. It just kills time for them. As a teenager school always came first for me and only now that I have a career I put fun things as my first priority and career and studying on the back burner.
I leaned hard on learning to socialize with people over the past year but now when I talk to people my whole feelings on things are reversed. It used to be that I thought I didn't know how to relate to normies but now that I am so active I think normies don't know how to behave as humans, just grazing animals.
It is a very different type of disappointment these days. Still no gf but more than like 80% of women aren't even worth a coffee date in the first place.
>why the fuck would i lift, work, study when i can get all this dopamine for free without doing anything in a beautiful fantasy world?
This was literally my cope for the longest time. Idk what happened I just grew out of it. >t. 5000 hours in runescape alone, across 2 accounts (Yes I realize that is most of a year)
Good for you man. As former osrs player I regret wasting so much time but once you truly break out, if you try to play again, it's so fucking boring you can't believe you've wasted precious life in it
Key here is the C in fgc. You were at least going places and seeing these dudes. Even if it was to do something silly, you were socializing and networking
Disagree, everything is fine in moderation.
t. works 80-100 hour work weeks, has a girlfriend, and works out 4-5x a week. Video games on rest days are a good way to destress and recover. I play with my gf sometimes too. Vidya is literally dead last on my priorities list (I JUST got to the snowy area in Elden Ring lol) but I make time when I can.
you sound like a loser too, since when being some kind of 100hours per week amazon slave drone is worth bragging about, no wonder games help you to cope from wasting your life away
Specifically true for mmo’s and other games designed to be massive time sinks.
Absolutely nothing beats vidya with the boys on friday nights while being obnoxious and unnecessarily racist in voice and team chats in multiplayer games
As with everything, it's alright in moderation. Nothing wrong with gaming for a few hours a week.
Unfathomably based taste in vidya

PLAY FIGHTING GAMES
you get all of those AND you can get IST if you just fight people, MMA or boxing or something. Then again all I know about fighting games is which of the girls are cute.
What do you guys do instead? I get done with work gym, and then I spend time with my wife and 10 month old but we can't really do anything so I just end up playing vidya at night. I want a different hobby but don't know what to do

Such is the most tragic of the gamer condition, it produces for them only anger yet they persist
You will never convince the tradlarpers and no fun allowed fags anon. They're like reformed alcoholics who go on lengthy, morally indignant tirades at even the suggestion of moderate indulgences. At least 9/10 of them are dyel or fat so you can safely ignore their posturing.
how can you play league for that long, anon? i used to be a mobafag but holy fuck the stress that games induces into someone is something out of this world
I mute everyone and done care if i win or not even if my virtual number goes red or blue i dont care all i care is that i am playing Nunu(basically the champion is a cute little boy riding on a big hairy man) i image i am the Yeti Nunu rides araund on hehe(its actually why i started going to the gym and went on test so i can get bigger and hairier to look more like the yeti Nunu rides) everytime he talks to his yeti i imagine hes saying it to me 🙂 i love Nunu...
I have been cheating on Nunu with Millio sometimes recently because hes a bit more fun to play but Nunu will always be my true love...

>Tfw ancient teemo 1trick >Was person friends with Manco, Ipavlov, xblotter >Been playing since 09 >Been playing longer thank ranked existed >Offered partial scholarship to play at university of Iowa >Still playing >Can prove ancient fagness
based. though these days i've run out of true desire to play the game because of the dearth of content and the devs becoming increasingly more retarded. have had membs for months. I wish they'd release another leagues or something lel.
I wasted my middle school and high school years playing videogames, being a fatass and masturbating 3-4 times a day.
I wish I could go back to those years but with my current consciousness and memories of the future.
I wish I could fix it all.
I was a literal coomer.
Now I fap 2-3 times per week.
Back then there was days in which my dick couldn't even get 80% erect, it looked shriveled and tired.
Sometimes I only got a single drop of cum out, I was worried that day because I thought I ran out of cum.
I've been there, but it honestly feels so much better if you only do it once every 3 or so days. You build up your semen and dopamine stores which makes the whole experience way more valuable
I've seen a few studies where they're good for your brain. Obviously avoid the gambling and MMO grinds + any game that makes you feel toxic (overwatch, league)
Based OW1 enjoyer. I played it a lot until they nerfed Genji. I rember switching between OW1/BF1/For Honor back in college and screaming slurs at my TV for hours
>I've seen a few studies where they're good for your brain
I dont need studies to know that, having to make your brain adapt to play a new game sure as hell must be doing something, for example I was playing this old japanese racing game recently and the driving model is werd as fuck,it has taken me hours to be able to play normally and not like a shitter to win races + learning all the other aspects of the game to tune the car, etc.
I've always played video games competitively, because I enjoyed the camaraderie. I started it while I was in high school and I was on the baseball, football, and track teams. In college I continued competing but not so seriously because it was fun - sort of like how some boomers are on a bowling league or something like that. At this point I don't have time to play competitively because I have a wife and 4 kids and a pretty full schedule. Still, maybe 2 or 3 nights per week I make time to hang out with some of my longtime gaming buddies and play around in a game or two. It's mostly social, kind of like going to the neighborhood poker game.
Some people are addicts though. I've always been able to just put games down if they were detrimental and sapping my time. I've known a lot of people who are like heroin addicts. I think it helps that I've always played FPS and RTS, I've never really been into RPGs outside of playing Diablo 1 and 2 as a kid. I've never once installed, started up, or played WoW. That fucking game sucked more players away from my competitive team rosters than anything else.
life is a gains goblin. If you're NPC who always need to be on productive mode and earning shekels for your boss is your meaning of life then lower your tone when talking to me
Am I the only one in this thread who likes videogames but only plays them between an hour or 2 a day? Fucking hell 12 hours, what the fuck, sure If I have free time I may play 3 hours maybe 4 but not way in hell 12 hours much less in a daily routine.
One time ever, between the fall and spring semesters at college, I didn't go home because my parents were on a long trip somewhere and my brother was busy working. I stayed in my apartment basically from like December 17th through January 17th and I decided fuck it I'm going to go hard in a video game I was playing on leagues at the time (it was CS Source). I think for maybe two weeks straight I spent maybe 12-14 hours per day playing CSS. I'd stop to eat, sleep, go to the gym, and shit/piss. I'm not a person who gets depressed but that was the absolute closest I ever got in my entire life to feeling depression. My mind was fried daily. My ass started hurting from sitting so much. I thought with all this constant practice I'll certainly get better but I actually got MUCH worse over time to the point that in the end I was so burnt out I could hardly function correctly in a competitive context.
So after those two weeks I said alright that's enough I'm taking a full week off of video games, I'm going to go out and about and do some hikes in the area and go to real places and meet up with some friends who stayed at school over break and all of that stuff. I felt a billion times better by the end of the week, and I came back to CSS for a match we had on a league and I had one of my best performances ever. Since then the thought of playing more than a couple of hours at a time has made me started feeling nauseous.
wow is the biggest gains goblin, at least for me it's all or nothing, either I'm bored after 5 min, or I play every waking hour to the point where I start timing my piss breaks to avoid downtime, like when on a gryphon
probably the best mmo out there, not sure why its so addictive, ive played pretty much every mmo out there but its just the playlist, how ur character move, the immersion, the pve and pvp are enjoyable for the most part
its just a complete game and its grindy, most of my addiction came from chasing pvp titles tho, not many other mmos have that, like achieving gladiator or rank 1 is something hard/cool and you get mired by having it in game
the thing that made wow get bored for me was the fact that im extremely competitive
that means when all my partners quit throughout the years and i had noone left to queue arena with, i had nothing else to do there anymore
still pveing and doing some arenas here and there but it isnt the same when ur not at the top playing against the best players
I used to be addicted to RS in middle school, then addicted to FPSs in high school to mid twenties.
After getting a real job and moving out from my parents, I finally broke free from vidya’s grasp.
Now I still play OSRS, just mostly AFK training.
They say you never quit the game, you just take a break.
Jagex just added a third layer of account security on top of the 2FA they already had in place + the bank PIN system that takes an entire week to reset. If you still manage to get hacked with all that in place then it's your fault
Oh yeah and the intersection with miniature/model painting, literature, it’s all great. Playing traveller got me really into science fiction and call of Cthulhu got me into lovecraft and cosmic horror. I’m not some autist who needs all past times to be perfectly enriching or anything, but I definitely spend more time actively thinking and enjoying myself with tabletop than vidya, where I would sometimes zone out like a boomer watching TV.
Tldr just do shit that lets you actually experience and create some enjoyment anons, not just consume it.
>be me, during pandemix lockdowns and stuff >ez spring/summer days wearing just boxershorts at home >spend the morning looking for jobs/internships >eat decent-in-terms-of-macros lunch >spend the afternoon playing videogames >bodyweight workout after each game >game for 15 min >exercise for 15 min >rinse and repeat
I unironically lost like 5kg of fat and got in shape just by staying at home and playing videogames, exercising from time to time BUT all afternoon long
Covid was the best thing for homegym'ers who had some free time
This game has taken up literally years of my life. Think my login time for my main account is 4+ years. Probably 1 year for private servers. It's fine to play the odd single player, story driven game but MMOs and compeitive games are pure fucking cancer. I had a lot of great times on WoW/L4D2/Valorant/TF2/Overwatch/Dota2/LoL but looking back I hardly remember any of it. Not worth it.
I feel the same. Haven’t gamed in a year and all my friends just talk about games. They get home from work and they just sit at their computers and game. It’s so weird seeing it from this perspective now
A boy at our school played so many video games he became incontinent, he would play for 72 hours straight and repeatedly wet himself, his mother had to buy him a penis pipe.
Kenshi
I larp as my Kenshi character irl. I run everywhere, fight everyone, carry a bag full of loot, work random jobs, and build caches around town.
It's all to boost my stats but irl
Trust me if you could play at 4k 120fps maxed out you would enjoy most vidya even some AAA modern garbo.
I was losing my interest in vidya until I gigapupgraded my PC recently.
fuark i might start playing yakuza 0. its been sitting in my library for so long
0 is pretty much made to get people into the series, i just finished it so i just started Kiwami. i finished Like a Dragon a while ago, that one is really fun
fuark i might start playing yakuza 0. its been sitting in my library for so long
i was playing Kiwami first one few months ago but did not get far. Honestly really really boring game, like Shenmue but without mystery and feel of doing something in real world, instead its just combat and this combat is so tedious those boss fights that are so easy but guy takes like million hits to get killed. Free roam is not even cool, nothing to do
I haven’t played any games in years but I recent got XCOM 2 in my phone, which is ridiculous to me. My PC won’t even run that game but it’s on my phone and it actually a nicely.
I never played video games growing up and haven't done it regularly in my entire life. Still ended up as a kissless virgin autistic friendless shut in borderline neet incel at 31 years old. I just wasted my life away in my room anyway.
>used to play elder scrolls online 10+ hrs/day during plandemic >stopped a year ago >reinstalled a month ago
at least im lifting now but damn it is absolutely a gains goblin.
I limit myself to multiplayer games with short matches so it doesnt consume me. >Armored core LR on PCSX2 >Only a handful of guys play it online >Typically only play for a couple of hours during the weekends
Satisfying 5 min matches. Cant get addicted because your game time is limited by your opponents. Bonus morale for the coming week because it takes me back to my teenage years.
GOD I FUCKING LOVE PLAYING WOW. I HAVE BEEN PLAYING WOW VANILLA THRU WRATH ON PRIVATE SERVERS SINCE 2008 AND I HAVE SPENT TENS OF THOUSANDS OF HOURS ON WOW. I DON'T PLAY VIDEOGAMES ANYMORE, EXCEPT FOR WOW ONCE OR TWICE A YEAR WHEN I GET THE ITCH. I LOVE WOW. I HAVE NEVER TOUCHED A FEMALE AND I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY FRIENDS.
Same. I've played every game on this planet, from fighting to racing, MMOs, MOBAs, FPS.
WoW was the only one who could chain me up for 5 years in it, probably all the hype behind it and the grind scheme they have going on, I eventually got bored out of it due to my friends quitting therefore not having anyone to play arena or PvE with.
Still play some here and there, like hardcore classic.
These threads are so funny to me because every single time, the majority of "life runing" games that get mentioned are >assgays like lol or dota >comp shit like csgo, valorant, fighting games, etc >mmo garbage like osrs, wow, eve, etc
Basically, IST, amd the gays who tell you to drop it entirely, have fucking terrible tastes in things in general. It's just that video games show you how bad they are. To be fair, I can't drink but at least I can admit my short comings: I'm way to susceptible to going crazy with alcohol due to it dulling my self control and you have terrible tastes in video games to where somehow you can't play anything else. Totally the same thing. :*~~
Poor guy, can't enjoy life because we put him in a matrix of his own design. Oh well, not like worthless goy cattle like you would even be able to have legitimate fun, let alone garner our attention.
I play like 2 hours max every day, honestly it's just a substitute for social life at this stage. If I'm alone at night at home I'd rather play a game than waste away in this shithole
beat saber is pretty based I play for like 30 mins to an hour a day and burn atleast 300 calories. Only real issue is that it costs a lot to start playing, but I think its worth just for that alone, play with mods.
There is some research to suggest that playing video games can improve problem-solving skills. For example, a study published in the Journal of Educational Psychology found that playing video games that require strategic planning and decision-making improved problem-solving abilities in both children and adults (Li, Chen, & Chen, 2016).
Another study published in the journal Computers in Human Behavior found that playing action video games can improve cognitive flexibility, which is the ability to switch between different tasks and perspectives (Green & Bavelier, 2012).
However, it is important to note that these studies do not necessarily suggest that video games are a better tool for teaching problem-solving skills than reading books. Both activities can provide valuable cognitive benefits, and the best approach may depend on the individual's preferences and learning style.
That being said, reading books, especially philosophy and literature, can also provide opportunities for critical thinking and problem-solving. Reading complex texts can challenge readers to interpret and analyze information, draw connections between ideas, and develop arguments and solutions. A study published in the Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience found that reading literary fiction can improve readers' ability to understand and empathize with other people's perspectives, which could also be seen as a form of problem-solving (Kidd & Castano, 2013).
Overall, both playing video games and reading books can provide valuable opportunities for problem-solving and critical thinking, and the best approach may depend on the individual's preferences and learning style.

PLAY FIGHTING GAMES
These days i would play some old lightweight arcade game like Ikaruga ot Tohou - fun as hell to play in small doses, non addictive, you do not waste much time on it and not much space on hard disk too. Recommend me more games like these, on PC, bonus if i can play on keyboard
Battlefield 1 is the only game I play, best sound and atmosphere of all BF's, and the Servers are full to date. I only miss the customization of weapons but still a 9/10 game for me.
If yiu play wow pvp and you play a hero class i could believe you are a buffed dude. Druids, priests, hunters, palas and locks are basement dwelling rats.
Haven’t played in a few years but deffo gonna fire up the old PC to play CS2 when it comes out.
But honestly being super good at video games is pretty fucking useless. There’s better ways to spend your PRECIOUS hours on this earth
>Does IST play games?
sure >Are videogames a gains goblin?
only if you get obsessed and binge. I used to do that a lot, but now am more strict with budgeting time. as long as you still hit the gym/go to your job/study etc, playing vidya with spare time is fine. that said I'm married so I don't give a shit about socialising except for hanging with my wife or my small group of friends
Always makes me laugh when retards on IST worship normalfags and shit talk video games when normalfags do NOTHING outside of watching tv whenever they're not shitfaced drunk.
is you bros retarded? elden ring is easily the best game that has come out in years
i dont like vidya at all but i sunk 100+ hours in this game for like 2 weeks then finished it
rate
im also playin vanilla classic wow again but i mostly play to chat shit on general chat and cause i know how to do everything in wow like the back of my hand (my brother introduced it to me when i was like 6 so unfortunately wow is second nature to me)
They are not only gains but life goblin
ive tried quitting wow but the addiction crawled back to me, used to be 16 hours on it everyday for 5 years
nowadays i only raid/play on saturdays/sundays which are my gym rest days

We should play vidya together sometime no homo.

Even if it was to do something silly, you were socializing and networking
>socializing and networking
You dont need to do that forever, once happy just settle and even if unhappy you will eventually settle.
Settle for what?
In life
This
How tf can anyone over 20 STILL spend time playing shit like League of Legends
Disagree, everything is fine in moderation.
t. works 80-100 hour work weeks, has a girlfriend, and works out 4-5x a week. Video games on rest days are a good way to destress and recover. I play with my gf sometimes too. Vidya is literally dead last on my priorities list (I JUST got to the snowy area in Elden Ring lol) but I make time when I can.
you sound like a loser too, since when being some kind of 100hours per week amazon slave drone is worth bragging about, no wonder games help you to cope from wasting your life away
Yeah, no fuckin' clue why he thought we wanted advice from someone who's life is 80-100 hours of working a week.
Specifically true for mmo’s and other games designed to be massive time sinks.
Absolutely nothing beats vidya with the boys on friday nights while being obnoxious and unnecessarily racist in voice and team chats in multiplayer games
Absolutely this. Sad to see so many dudes wasting their lives on vg
This.
The only games that aren’t lifegoblin are party games you play with your friends.
If you are an adult male playing an MMO like WoW or a MOBA like League of Legends, please stop, for your own sake.
posting the needful, thank you sir.
>the post that broke IST gaymers
if you arent as big as him your opinion is discarded
Implying life is more interesting than Simcity 4
ISHYGDDT
I do.
As with everything, it's alright in moderation. Nothing wrong with gaming for a few hours a week.
Unfathomably based taste in vidya
nice
you get all of those AND you can get IST if you just fight people, MMA or boxing or something. Then again all I know about fighting games is which of the girls are cute.
What do you guys do instead? I get done with work gym, and then I spend time with my wife and 10 month old but we can't really do anything so I just end up playing vidya at night. I want a different hobby but don't know what to do
kek how old are you?
What is your non vidya hobby besides lifting?
dont avoid my question lol. how old are you lad?
>lad
Old enough to have a wife and child. What are your hobbies?
kek why are you avoiding my question so hard? its a literal number and Im genuinely curious, its not an insult question at all you insecure retard.
you still haven't answered his question either you autistic little spaz, get off the fuckin board already bitch. your hobby is obviously posting on fuckin IST all day long, really impressive stuff incel.
fine I'll humor you. I enjoy reading, mountain biking, trail running, hiking, a bit of bass guitar too. I do want to get into driving cars on track because I follow wrc and f1 as well.
I also asked the question first and you started getting all defensive and responded with another question. So I'll ask again, how old are you?
meant for
While the other guy is shitposting it's hard to say if you aren't shitposting yourself. Everything listened is the meme tier "self improvement" hobby list. Did you get all that shit from here?
game name?
no more heroes
all that crap is gay as fuck. you don't even have a gun?? lmao. I street race, do coke and heroin, drop the lsd, hit that dmt, pop beans, fuck hoes, rock high fashion designer clothes and garden gnomeelry, terrorize california gays and shitskins. no wonder you were trying so hard to one up this kid online you pathetic spaz.
>one up this kid
now youre just straw manning. I literally asked for the poster's age because the dude seemed like a young parent, and now your on my ass about a conversation you aren't even a part of.
yep and now you're done fuckin talking, bitch, get the fuck off the fuckin board you gay ass piece of shit. fuck you.
obviously you have some superior tastes so show us what you've got lmao

Such is the most tragic of the gamer condition, it produces for them only anger yet they persist
God fucking damn this gives me PTSD flashbacks of my college roommate and FIFA
I play a shit ton of wow and some Planetside 2. Have to balance raiding and home life with gf with gym
I play them mostly when I've worked out really hard and am too sore to do anything.
>gains goblin
not really. there's nothing stopping you from working out and playing some video games
You will never convince the tradlarpers and no fun allowed fags anon. They're like reformed alcoholics who go on lengthy, morally indignant tirades at even the suggestion of moderate indulgences. At least 9/10 of them are dyel or fat so you can safely ignore their posturing.
that thing called time
I work out for 2 hours, buy groceries on the way back and play League of Legends for 12 hours a day.
how can you play league for that long, anon? i used to be a mobafag but holy fuck the stress that games induces into someone is something out of this world
I mute everyone and done care if i win or not even if my virtual number goes red or blue i dont care all i care is that i am playing Nunu(basically the champion is a cute little boy riding on a big hairy man) i image i am the Yeti Nunu rides araund on hehe(its actually why i started going to the gym and went on test so i can get bigger and hairier to look more like the yeti Nunu rides) everytime he talks to his yeti i imagine hes saying it to me 🙂 i love Nunu...
I have been cheating on Nunu with Millio sometimes recently because hes a bit more fun to play but Nunu will always be my true love...
Thank you for confirming my belief that nunu players are retarded subhuman gays
try jg bard
tyler1, is that you?
makes sense, Nunu basically doesnt matter if hes behind or not, u just run around with ur snowball and hope for the best, not like u can get zoned at ur tower or invaded properly as nunu
>Tfw ancient teemo 1trick
>Was person friends with Manco, Ipavlov, xblotter
>Been playing since 09
>Been playing longer thank ranked existed
>Offered partial scholarship to play at university of Iowa
>Still playing
>Can prove ancient fagness
Yeah, I love me Morrowind and basically any classic fps or boomer shooter
>t. Filthy Zoomer
I've put 10,000+ hours in RuneScape/OSRS and I only slightly regret it. Just stay away from MMOs and you're good
based. though these days i've run out of true desire to play the game because of the dearth of content and the devs becoming increasingly more retarded. have had membs for months. I wish they'd release another leagues or something lel.
I wasted my middle school and high school years playing videogames, being a fatass and masturbating 3-4 times a day.
I wish I could go back to those years but with my current consciousness and memories of the future.
I wish I could fix it all.
Why uou fap so much? 2 x per week is sufficient.
You build up your semen and dopamine stores which makes the whole experience way more valuable
ill occasionally play a game but ive lost a lot of interest in them recently
what game is this?
Xenoblade X
im using CEMU
i can probably find the guide i used to set up the emulator if you want
I've seen a few studies where they're good for your brain. Obviously avoid the gambling and MMO grinds + any game that makes you feel toxic (overwatch, league)
>any game that makes you feel toxic
For Honor flashbacks
My flashbacks are:
Runescape and WoW (2006-2012, 2018 OSRS): taught me to hate grinding passionately.
Overwatch 1: actively feeling upset after a 20-30min time zap
Based OW1 enjoyer. I played it a lot until they nerfed Genji. I rember switching between OW1/BF1/For Honor back in college and screaming slurs at my TV for hours
There are studies that show cigarettes cure lung cancer.
Doctors used to play video games in their offices, right out in the open in front of patients and even offer them a videogame
I love learning curve genre games (high skill ceilings). e.g. recently I saw RockSmith is on Steam.
You have fun playing, you train your brain and you learn to play guitar.
And they dare to say videogames are bad lol.
>any game that makes you feel toxic
I will play Sea of Thieves and I will grief every player I come across and there's nothing you can do to stop me.
It's only grief if you ignore other players, because the pvp interactions are the only thing that makes the game worth playing.
If you're NPC who always need to be on productive mode and earning shekels for your boss is your meaning of life then lower your tone when talking to me
kek well memed, should make a detailed drawing of this
Am I the only one in this thread who likes videogames but only plays them between an hour or 2 a day?
I have never played an MMORPG but sure as hell have played tons of RPGs, whats so good about wow? is the grinding really that satisfactory?
probably the best mmo out there, not sure why its so addictive, ive played pretty much every mmo out there but its just the playlist, how ur character move, the immersion, the pve and pvp are enjoyable for the most part
its just a complete game and its grindy, most of my addiction came from chasing pvp titles tho, not many other mmos have that, like achieving gladiator or rank 1 is something hard/cool and you get mired by having it in game
>just the playstyle
fixed
the thing that made wow get bored for me was the fact that im extremely competitive
that means when all my partners quit throughout the years and i had noone left to queue arena with, i had nothing else to do there anymore
still pveing and doing some arenas here and there but it isnt the same when ur not at the top playing against the best players
Dark & Darker is going to rape my gains
Goblin decks are gains goblins.
Assetto Corsa, STALKER, U-BOAT, BO1 zombies
Play competitive ranking on fps games. I can't go back to casual play because there's no stakes. Thank me later for the test boost
Yes.
Yes.
First acct from middleschool I lost had 99 str.
Second acct I lost as an adult had 99 agility
I can't in good conscience go back (jamflex fix your acct security)
Jagex just added a third layer of account security on top of the 2FA they already had in place + the bank PIN system that takes an entire week to reset. If you still manage to get hacked with all that in place then it's your fault
Addicted to league because I like online comp games, it kills my urge to play single player games. I hate it
What do you guys think about Graphic Adventures/Visual Novels? Are they the exception to the rule?
Pretty pozzed tbqh. Only strategy games are acceptable.
Japanese ones are based but can get boring if they drag on. I've been trying to get through CLANNAD forever but I keep getting bored
I recommend switching to tabletop gaming. It’s more social, and encourages more creativity. Watch out for the trannies tho
D&D is great at teaching storytelling skills. Waiting on that ORC license though.
How to achieve deltceps?
>be me, during pandemix lockdowns and stuff
>ez spring/summer days wearing just boxershorts at home
>spend the morning looking for jobs/internships
>eat decent-in-terms-of-macros lunch
>spend the afternoon playing videogames
>bodyweight workout after each game
>game for 15 min
>exercise for 15 min
>rinse and repeat
Haven’t gamed since Dec I think and seeing my friends now gaming is literally pathetic. Is worse than just sitting all day
I feel the same. Haven’t gamed in a year and all my friends just talk about games. They get home from work and they just sit at their computers and game. It’s so weird seeing it from this perspective now
Good for you, for not being a degenerate fgt horde player.
Nope I quit games.
I make games, porn games
enjoy hell
Why? I don't consume my own games and the people who consume them are hopeless, like drug addicts they have many options to fuel their addiction.
Based. Kenshi is amazing but I definitely use it as a surrogate activity for my accomplishments
I miss enjoying video games. Take me back bros
Trust me if you could play at 4k 120fps maxed out you would enjoy most vidya even some AAA modern garbo.
I was losing my interest in vidya until I gigapupgraded my PC recently.
Perhaps my pc is due for an upgrade. I built my current one in 2013 to play BF4.
playing yakuza kiwami right now
fuark i might start playing yakuza 0. its been sitting in my library for so long
Is 0 a good place to start for the yakuza games?
0 is pretty much made to get people into the series, i just finished it so i just started Kiwami. i finished Like a Dragon a while ago, that one is really fun
that's what i've been told. I played yakuza 3 a long time ago and its considered the weakest in the series. I plan on going 0, then kiwamis
Like a dragon is good if you like turn based final fantasy style combat. main character in that is 10x more interesting than cardboard manly man Kiryu
i was playing Kiwami first one few months ago but did not get far. Honestly really really boring game, like Shenmue but without mystery and feel of doing something in real world, instead its just combat and this combat is so tedious those boss fights that are so easy but guy takes like million hits to get killed. Free roam is not even cool, nothing to do
Who here /rocketleague/?
oh we IST now?
only if you're IST otherwise gtfo
Unlike IST anons here play and enjoy videogames
I haven’t played any games in years but I recent got XCOM 2 in my phone, which is ridiculous to me. My PC won’t even run that game but it’s on my phone and it actually a nicely.
modern phones are more powerful for gaming than the Nintendo switch. only thing missing is decent cpu cooling
whenever i see wow starting zones i get so happy and nostalgic. really wish i could be 14-15 years old again playing wow. it was so much fun
not like I used to. Hour or two a night, usually singleplayer RPGs. Playing through sekiro rn actually.
Used to drink 2-4 liters of code red and play 14-16 hrs of classic WoW a day.
I never played video games growing up and haven't done it regularly in my entire life. Still ended up as a kissless virgin autistic friendless shut in borderline neet incel at 31 years old. I just wasted my life away in my room anyway.
I play Monster Hunter but that's about it. Anything else loses me after 5 hours or so.
>used to play elder scrolls online 10+ hrs/day during plandemic
>stopped a year ago
>reinstalled a month ago
at least im lifting now but damn it is absolutely a gains goblin.
I was big into them as a kid, and now I very rarely enjoy them unless it's with friends, just not as entertaining anymore.
I limit myself to multiplayer games with short matches so it doesnt consume me.
>Armored core LR on PCSX2
>Only a handful of guys play it online
>Typically only play for a couple of hours during the weekends
These threads are so funny to me because every single time, the majority of "life runing" games that get mentioned are
>assgays like lol or dota
>comp shit like csgo, valorant, fighting games, etc
>mmo garbage like osrs, wow, eve, etc
Basically, IST, amd the gays who tell you to drop it entirely, have fucking terrible tastes in things in general. It's just that video games show you how bad they are. To be fair, I can't drink but at least I can admit my short comings: I'm way to susceptible to going crazy with alcohol due to it dulling my self control and you have terrible tastes in video games to where somehow you can't play anything else. Totally the same thing. :*~~
I like old school shit cause they are so fucking boring I stop within 30 minutes and go to sleep
Have you considered treatment for your adhd?
Have you considered an oven for your gnomishness
Poor guy, can't enjoy life because we put him in a matrix of his own design. Oh well, not like worthless goy cattle like you would even be able to have legitimate fun, let alone garner our attention.
I play like 2 hours max every day, honestly it's just a substitute for social life at this stage. If I'm alone at night at home I'd rather play a game than waste away in this shithole
beat saber is pretty based I play for like 30 mins to an hour a day and burn atleast 300 calories. Only real issue is that it costs a lot to start playing, but I think its worth just for that alone, play with mods.
Why play video games if you can read books instead in your free time and become guy mogging both of them like in pic related
Games give you greater problem solving abilities and reaction time.
Books boost your imagination and general culture.
Overall, both playing video games and reading books can provide valuable opportunities for problem-solving and critical thinking, and the best approach may depend on the individual's preferences and learning style.
>round based so you can quit in between
>short rounds so your sessions can be held short
>needs you to adapt a growth mindset
>will teach you to not get upset about the small things in life
PLAY FIGHTING GAMES
Moderation is required to make it work with a healthy lifestyle.
I'm old and just like a couple games a lot.
damn me and my brother used to play this against each other
fuck potemkin and his infinite reach tho gay ass retard champ
Only if you’re hooked on cringey PC garbage. Consoles are fine.
IST is a pc board.
Haven’t played in a few years but deffo gonna fire up the old PC to play CS2 when it comes out.
But honestly being super good at video games is pretty fucking useless. There’s better ways to spend your PRECIOUS hours on this earth
>Does IST play games?
sure
>Are videogames a gains goblin?
only if you get obsessed and binge. I used to do that a lot, but now am more strict with budgeting time. as long as you still hit the gym/go to your job/study etc, playing vidya with spare time is fine. that said I'm married so I don't give a shit about socialising except for hanging with my wife or my small group of friends
Always makes me laugh when retards on IST worship normalfags and shit talk video games when normalfags do NOTHING outside of watching tv whenever they're not shitfaced drunk.
i dont get that either, most normies just watch tv and netflix or live on social media which isnt better than vidya
is you bros retarded? elden ring is easily the best game that has come out in years
i dont like vidya at all but i sunk 100+ hours in this game for like 2 weeks then finished it
rate
im also playin vanilla classic wow again but i mostly play to chat shit on general chat and cause i know how to do everything in wow like the back of my hand (my brother introduced it to me when i was like 6 so unfortunately wow is second nature to me)
I play league with scripts which allows me to afk while 1v9ing saving energy for the next gym day. It’s literally a cheat code to getting big.
I do yeah, I like to play wotlk classic casually
