Go to the hospital or unironically RIP. I'm surprised you still have function in your legs and lower spine. How the frick are you walking around right now?

People will do anything except go to the emergency room holy shit (me included)

i don’t have insurance and i’m too poor. what are my options?

Go to an urgent care or free clinic. your state insurance should be able to provide you with something if you don't have any through your job. worst case you can just get treated and then run the frick out after you're done

        Anonymous

Go to the hospital now and when the issue of payment comes up tell them you want to work out a payment plan. Pay it or don't, but if you don't go, you could risk losing your legs, or even your life. I'm pretty sure I see necrotic tissue in picrel which means you could go septic and die if you don't take care of this immediately

you sound like a medgay, how did he end up with legs like this?

            Anonymous

I'm not a certified medgay but my more than half my family are nurses or surgeons and I briefly went into a medical program. I also worked at a home health agency for 8 years and would regularly work with patient charts and see pictures, surgical notes, and diagnosis pages for situations exactly like this. Take my words with that in mind and if there's a medical professional in the replies defer to them and not me. My suggestions are amateur and an actual doctor is what OP needs. That being said, I can see where the two wounds on his legs seem to have progressed from a small cut and gash. They most likely became infected and OP didn't take care of it, leading to the situation he's in now where he might lose his legs because of the ulcers and necrosis setting in. He's going to need an in person examination to see if there's anything there he can save or if he's going to need an amputation. I'm genuinely surprised that the infection isn't in his blood stream or infecting the bone. If it progresses to the bone and goes into the marrow then OP is fricked. I really hope he's on the way to a hospital right now. I'm worried

It's concerning that it's on both legs. Even if it's what you're calling chronic venous disease, that still needs to be looked at by a doctor because you have wounds that aren't healing. Are you diabetic? You don't look that fat but you can still be diabetic. The people advising you to go to an emergency room are not being in judicious.

not fat at all, nor am i diabetic. i’m actually underweight but idk if that’s what caused it

It's much rarer but you can still be diabetic type 2 at a low body weight. If you don't have any insurance and you're just going to be an idiot, that's fine I guess. If you had that for a long while and it's not healing there's clearly something wrong with you.

first of all go to a doctor
but if it is ""pvd"" i would look into vitamin deficiencies associated with it
it might sound like a stretch but maybe its scurvy
its not an exact match but if you look up "scurvy legs" it comes up with a bunch of zombie like kind of skinny and lesioned legs that look somewhat similar to yours
do you have any other symptoms other than the legs?

anyway heres some papers for vitamin deficiencies associated with pvd:
    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6627356/
    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3225350/

vitamins K, D, E seem to be most important for cardiovascular health, id throw in A too for good measure

also I'm wondering what your diet looks like, what is everything you can recall eating yesterday? what do you eat on a typical day

short term maybe take a multi vit and vit D3 (5000-8000iu/day) seperately, long term make sure youre drinking milk, eating eggs, sea food/shellfish every so often, liver if you can manage it, fruit/fruit juice (particularly citrus), etc

but yeah, go to an urgent care/hospital and get a blood panel, should give you a clear answer if there is obvious nutrient deficiencies

You are a larper and the photo is not yours.

In case you are not a larper, then this is livedo reticularis. There is a multitude of reason why this is possible. Most likely it's some vascular/autoimmune disease.

PVD is slow and progressive. OP clearly said that it appeared a couple of months ago. Also the foot would be involved at first.
Even if it's not livedo, it's some form of vacular autoimmune disease. It can be caused by chronic infection, malnutrition, drugs, SLE and other stuff.

      Anonymous

Food poisoning will cost you $800 in the hospital to see a doctor and receive no treatment, up to $8,000 for bloodwork and antiinflammatory med or an iv drip.
A gash that needs stitches would cost $15,000
An xray could cost $5,000 to $40,000
Hospitals literally just make up prices since you can't see how much it charges, I've gotten estimates for an mri between $10,000 and $45,000.
You roll the dice everytime you go to the hospital, you might get an $800 bill, or a 1 million dollar bill, for the same condition or injury.

You need to wear compression socks.
    That is a severe case.
    There is no cure.
Do you sit down a lot? You might have atherosclerosis in the legs.
    what is your diet like?

    Also
Lie down after doing physical activity so the blood can drain from your legs. I lie down on a lazyboy.

That is so bad. You need to stop doing physical activity altogether and let these heal. elevate your legs as much as possible.
Long term you must wear compression socks.

I advise everyone to wear compression socks, even if you are young. Give your veins a break.

If you're poor that means you don't have any property, so your basically judgment-proof anyways even if they file a lien or something.

If you don't have insurance there is a good chance you don't have any wages either which means a garnishment is also not going to work.

He has venous insufficiency. His veins aren't working. That is a severe case. The flesh is dying because it isn't getting enough oxygen. It's a circulation issue. I advise everyone wear compression socks. Especially when you are doing physical activity, even if you are young. This will support your veins so they don't get worn out.
This is pretty common. once you get 40+ things start going wrong in the body and you get chronic conditions that won't go away on their own.

Why we need to wear compression socks when we're doing physical activity?

          Anonymous

          >Why we need to wear compression socks when we're doing physical activity?
When you do physical activity, blood swells the legs and swells the veins. Veins are thin walled and fragile, so if they get swollen with blood a lot, they will get worn out, and that's Venous insufficiency. The compression socks compress the leg and help 'squish' the veins and hold them together so they don't get stressed by the blood swelling them and stretching them.

I should have laid down or reclined on a lazy boy for 15 minutes so all the blood could drain from my legs. And also worn compression socks during and after physical activity, and when I'm sitting at the computer. It's not as serious as what this guy has, but if I don't wear the socks I get a lesion, like a patch of dead skin, on my lower leg that could become an ulcer.
