Does cardio kill leg gains??????

Tom Platz article says this
>He added a lot of running to his precontest workout regimen that year and lost a lot of muscle before he competed in the ’77 AAU Mr. America contest.

>The following year Tom didn’t do any running before the Mr. America, and he competed about 15 pounds heavier and just as cut

If you start running like a marathon runner yes but if you go on occasional runs for 30 minutes to an hour like 3-2 days a week you will be good. Cardio will kill leg gains if you start doing retarded amounts of it and running long distances.

OP here, I do about 1-2 hours daily.
This seems to be considered excessive right?
      My understanding is

      >constant leg cardio makes my leg muscles less reactive to hypertrophy

I'm bipolar and sometimes the running helps but I want my FUCKING GAINS so I think I will switch to yoga?

I would say if your goal is to get gains yes that is a lot of cardio and it will negatively affect your gains. But if it helps you go for it, also take in mind that other ways of cardio exist maybe you could try bjj or some other shit.

Running is very catabolic and studies already prove HIIT is more muscle sparing and more efficient at fat loss. If you wanted to add a daily cardio regime I would only suggest jumping rope. You have to cut off all the dyels trying to chip in with their bad advice like "you HAVE to run to lose weight bro! Stop eating carbs!"

Whats optimal anon? 3x a week, 30 minutes jump rope HIIT?
