Does lifting cause cancer?

>Overall, men who used muscle-building supplements increased their risk of developing testicular cancer by 65 percent. Men who used more than one type of muscle building supplement had a 177 percent increase in risk. Men who used the supplements for three years or more had a 156 percent increase in risk.
So that's for supplements but I want to discuss regular lifting as well since inflammation and microtears might be a riskfactor. Does anyone here have data?

I just read an article but my main interest is about inflammation so I haven't critically examined the studies.

meanwhile if you google search the effects of long term creatine supplementation, the results overwhelmingly suggest it is safe. however, like op's article said in the abstract, there is very little data about taking creatine for decades. hell, the very last sentence is very wishy-washy:
"Chronic administration of a large quantity of creatine can increase the production of formaldehyde, which may potentially cause serious unwanted side-effects"
        >CAN increase
        >not WILL increase
        >MAY POTENTIALLY cause
        >not WILL cause
how do you rigorously manage a control and experimental group of people living their lives to actually carry out the study that would prove this? imo if you are concerned don't go above 5g/day and get your blood checked twice a year or whenever your doctor recommends. or just don't take creatine. I'm going to stop taking creatine for a month and see what happens to my lifts, though I expect them to go down

I sure hope no one reads this abstract and thinks it is saying "creatine is unsafe do not use it," because that is not at all what it is saying. it just outlines an aspect of creatine metabolism that may cause harm, not one that will/does cause harm

100% of GH and steroid users also take supplements

Not all supplement users take roids.

Which do you think is causing the cancer?

Apparently the formaldehyde in the creatine supp.
As a general note I found reduced risk in cancer for several types of cancer and improved immune system to bodybuilding in general.

I'm sure this thread is made with good intent and isn't related to the ones constantly posted with demotivational nonsense.

How did you manage to come to the conclusion "a IST conspiracy with the malicious intent to protect me from cancer" without realising you are schizophrenic?

Well the thing that tipped me off right away was your homosexual ass tried to equate lifting causing cancer to supplements causing cancer. That doesn't seem like a reliable source of information to me.

I explicitely did the opposite of that. Please get help.

Yes that is the question. And then I said I only have data about supplements not lifting itself and asked if anyone else does.
I know you need a bit longer but come on.

And the answer to that question is no. Your ass cancer is another matter.
