This shit doesn’t actually do anything for your physique. You’ll burn calories and have a healthy heart and be good *at rowing* sure, but that’s it. At least sprinting will give you visible results in ~1mo.

Rowing is for tall lanklets and roided crossfitters. Frick rowing.

      it’s mainly a cardio machine
I’ve also seen some people use it for warming up before a workout but that’s pretty much it

It's not even that good for cardio. If you want to actually burn calories and work on your endurance you're way better off going for a run instead.

It’s easier on your knees and ankles than running so that’s like the only plus

Also works more of your body, as you need to use upper strength to row. Don't be daft and pretend it doesn't offer a better workout if going for cardio, running is not only fricking terrible for you (father in law cant walk anymore without knee replacement because of endurance running for forty years, many such cases) and gives less of an athletic body than rowing. Look at college rowing teams vs college running teams, no cherry picking, and you know I'm right. Runninggays are actually just poorgays who can't afford a concept and go full moron sour grapes over it. Simple as.

That's literally every person over 60. Also, the rowers probably look better because they are doing a lot of weightlifting next to their rowing, and not because of the rowing itself. In general, the rowing machine is just a massive excuse for normies to keep sitting on their ass even when doing cardio. Truth is that running burns almost twice the amount of calories in the same time.

I have massive quads from rowing. However, I did a wide variety of rowing pieces (ranging from many 30 sec sprints to 60+ min rows) for 4 years, so I don’t know what the average person would get out of it with “pure” cardio.

Rowing should mainly come from your lower body, if you're using it as a back or upper body workout you're form is clearly moronic, but you're not alone. I've gone to the gym living in the UK, USA and Aus, and probably ~80-90% of people have shocking form. The only reason there's not more injuries is most people don't do it for longer than 15-20 mins at a time.

Its fantastic for cardio though, more effective time-wise than running or cycling.

source: I'm an ex-rower who also runs and cycles now.

The form thing drives me insane. I have a friend in a different state that kept talking about taking up rowing because of me. One day he shows me his screen....

      >3000m
      >35mins
I wanted to die inside. I can't even imagine what was going on.
