Does whey protein cause hair loss?

Currently on finasteride & have seen apparent ‘studies’ that whey protein (isolate specifically) apparently causes hair loss in people who already are suffering from it. I’m using Optimum Nutrition atm which has whey protein concentrate and isolate.

Whey protein itself doesn’t but since all supplements go without regulation they can put literally anything in those tubs. You can bet your ass they sneak creatine and mass gainer to make their brand rise above the competition.

Is there anything to stop whey companies from putting microdoses of test in their whey to beat the competition?

I don’t think you can digest and absorb pure test.

        No and they do it.

        >Over-the-counter workout supplements ‘adulterated’ with steroids, stimulants
        >A new study has found that many over-the-counter muscle-building powders contain steroids, stimulants and other illegal substances that are putting the health of Australian gym-goers at risk.

        The study:

I know companies like labdoor test products like whey for heavy metals and if they meet their nutritional information, but is that worth anything?

If whey caused hairloss then milk would cause hairloss. But whey is a better boogeyman for people who need a headline

"Some scientific evidence" may as well read as "basically nothing". "Proven" and "generally accepted" are the only words I really care about.

I read protein shakes might be laced with some shit that makes you bald, also creatine. Google it.

In any case, it's pretty suHispanicious that the balding epidemic started right after the fitness craze in the 2010s.

Lmao, so after all these years there is now "some scientific evidence" that whey accelerates hair loss? Why do people fall for such low effort propaganda?

I think this is one of those misrepresented studies that incorrectly assume correlation = causation

It’s like when they say “studies show smoking increases testosterone” but the study is just based on a control group and their test levels. Higher testosterone men are more likely to engage in risky behaviours like smoking, it’s not that smoking made them higher test.

This is probably similar in that men who consume whey probably lift and have higher testosterone, thus higher DHT, thus accelerating hair loss

Also a literal garden gnome published this article

I live in a country full of smokers I noticed that smokers had more T and one day just decided to google if men who smoke have higher testosterone and there were even studies about it lol
