I've used 10mg before and it just makes me tired but I can't get into deep sleep, feels like I took a 20 minute nap for 8 hours
It doesn't work because your body can't handle forcing sleep hormones into it all at once. You're only supposed to take this if you're adjusting your sleep schedule, as a way to try and haphazardly force yourself to sleep.
Only thing we know is stop looking at screens 2 hours before bed, and use army techniques or meditation if that doesn't help.

I have been doing this without being told how or what it's called. Specifically, I concentrate on my shoulders and neck and kinda let it "fall" into the pillow/bed. Also try to relax my elbows from clinching.

As someone who used to take them occasionally, I agree with you. They're powerful, and I have no doubts some people take one every single night in order to sleep. I've switched to camomile tea myself whenever I want a lil something to help me fall asleep quicker

Sleeping aids should be used short term to reschedule your body clock if you have insomnia. I use them in a block of 3 days or so then stop.
They should't be relied on for actual sleeping.
One little fun tip - have some gelatine before bed. Just the supermarket stuff. It has glycine which helps with sleep.
It works fine as a sleep aid, but 10mg is way too much. 0.3mg is enough to get the effects, and it won't fuck your hormones. Also, take it 3-4 hours before sleep, not 30mn like some packages claim.
So much this what the actual fuck, over here the normal over-the-counter dose is 1,9mg. Melatonin is one of those hormones that don't work at all or even do the opposite thing of what they're supposed to do if your dosage is too high.
