No it doesnt, youre just an idiot. I dont think that meditation means yoga and shit and neither should you. Meditation is a part of yoga, but that doesnt mean that you should immediately lump them together as one. Only a moron would do that. To meditate is simply to bring awareness to something. Thats it. If I were to say a prayer and ask for forgiveness, I would first need to meditate on my wrongdoings. Understanding why what I did was wrong. Bring awareness to that part of me that keeps fricking up. Meditation is one of if not THE biggest building block of christianity

Yes, exactly. Its always some progressive women with some current fad level yoga shit. Always disposable income, urban-metro women in high-end yoga gear seeking a replacement for traditional religion.

Its always a half-assed secular-loophole for spirituality because they're smart enough to know they need something to fill the holes in their lives, but too obstinate and selfish to make it all the way to "patriarchal" Christianity, Judaism, or Islam.

It almost always fails, and they end up on SSRIs because they can't let go of the selfishness and contempt for traditional religion. Despite having almost no real world problems.

They love the word "meditation" but hate the word "prayer."

Organized religions are scams and tools that were created with social control as the goal, yet morons still fall for it.
Developing mindfulness doesn't require all that pious hypocritical sanctimonious talk and symbols, that's only for the people that like to LARP about achieving enlightenment (you).

He fasted and was tempted by the devil. He didn't meditate.

St Teresa of Avila was a nun dyke that wrote a book on meditation called Interior Castle. There is also some dude named John or something that become a monk after he got tired of killing and raping and wrote a book meditation.

Jesus is down with meditation, since Teresa never lost her title as a nun iirc.

Sit or lay down in any stable position. Focus on something - your heartbeat, breath going in and out like anon said, some consistent sound. If you want to go deeper, there will be a buzzing in the back of your head to focus on. People also call it having a stroke, brain cancer, and /k/ calls it Tinnitus, but it's fine.

Meditation can help with impulse control for real spazzes. For people who can focus enough to lift consistently, it doesn't do much. There is a book called "Altered Traits" on it by some Harvard Phds, basically the conclusion is that one of the professors meditate for 20 years and then decided it's more effective to get on blood pressure control medication.

Meditation can help into the right state for lucid dreaming (WILD).

Imagine your brain is a pond and hold it still long enough so that the it stops rippling. When that is achieved, you get a comfy sensation that feels like your brain takings its socks off after a long day. Hold that long enough and that sensation will expand to your entire body. Very relaxing and energizing when done right

I dont think you understand what meditation is lol. Spirituality is directly linked to meditational practices. Spirit itself is the breath, and being in a meditative state allows for controlled and regulated/proper breathing. The better quality of breaths and better circulation in the body, the better you mental state will be, thus improving every aspect of your life.

Do you guys sometimes think you and happiness just dont mix well together?
I want to do stuff when im sad, i want to progress, i want to push forward.
Happiness makes me dull, it makes me overconfident.
I was on antidepressants for like 3 months. Ive gotten off of them after 3 months. During them i felt dull and emotionless. After ive gotten them i was filled with happiness and positivity.
    And emptiness.
Complete fricking emptiness. I couldnt think about anything. I couldnt push forward. I couldnt motivate myself. I just thought to myself that to hell with everything, after all everything is going to be fine.
I kind of relapsed into depression. I was on the verge of fricking crying. And yet for some fricking reason i cant stop smiling. I want to do stuff again. I want to try. I want to push forward, i want to stop being miserable. But without this annoying emptiness in my head. I want to change. I want to be better.
Im listening to some sad nostalgic song, and i cant fricking think that this is just where i belong.

I'm terrified of having another serious manic episode, so any hint of more energy, optimism, or goal oriented behavior worries me. So yeah I do not mix with happiness. Not much of a challenge when you're almost always depressed though.

Think I'm in a similar boat as you, what I've learned is paying enough attention to your own behavior and thoughts in all these different mental states you develop a playbook to fight back and counter it. For me it has been around 3 years so if it's a somewhat new thing you're dealing with you have really gotta have courage and you need to keep all trust most importantly in yourself and for those you love and respect if you're fortunate enough to have people like that in your life.

Completely wrong. Studies have shown that there's visible changes in brain matter after a month of daily.meditation in complete beginners. It's like lifting, you have to train your mind, and at first it's impossible to completely focus on breathe without intruding thoughts. The whole point is by realizing when you've lost focus and refocusing without beating yourself up, you are getting better at it. The benefits come from the resulting adaptation. I meditate in full kit, one hand on my ar, other on glock 19. In the mornings, I imagine all the ways I could die and accept my death, in the evenings I reflect on the day and analyze why I did what I did or said, why I got upset, lied, etc. and focus on learning myself, my limits and how to avoid showing or feeling emotions in the future. I also seek to have no preferences in the present or plans for the future and accept everything just the way it is and experience life as it comes and enjoy it
