because your weight naturally fluctuates and that 5lb is probably not fat unless you ate around 17,500 excess calories. Don't weigh yourself every day you retard it is completely pointless unless you take the data and average it each week or something.
I have to weigh myself everyday. If I don't my OCD/anxiety/autism takes over. I know not to base myself off each number but usually I expect the scale to go down every 2 days. Even if it's only by .2
So seeing +5lbs is really eating away at me. It's making me freak out and I feel like a fat fuck
If you have to measure every day I highly recommend you take an average on Sunday for the whole week and use that number rather than focusing on each day.
Think about how heavy 5lb is. It's around 2.5kg which is 2.5L of water. So the 5lb could be composed of water, minerals like sodium etc, a small amount of fat, and the actual food weight which you're going to shit out soon anyway
I have to focus on each day. I know. But I'm pretty sure I'm mentally ill. I know it's a good amount of water weight. It just sucks to see it on the scale. It's demoralizing.
Is there anyway I can prevent gaining the water weight? Like going for a run or a sauna?
>Is there anyway I can prevent gaining the water weight?
I heard carbohydrates will make you store more water, not sure how true that is. My alternative would be to take creatine so that you're basically maxxed out on water weight and then you can't really gain more water weight, at the cost of being heavier.
Honestly I stopped using weight as a measure a long time ago, I focus on bf% which can be estimated on one of those inbody scan machines. Weight is just a very crude estimation. If you gain muscle you will become heavier
I dont eat McDonald's. Last time I had it, about 3 months ago, it was too gross. The meat doesn't taste like meat and the fries are bland. I don't eat fast food, but I do enjoy peanut butter waffle sandwiches, which is what put me over my calories this time. 4 waffles with peanut butter on each face. With a bowl of syrup.
But I digress as it's making me hungry again

>At least with weight I know that what you see is what you are
It's actually the opposite, you know how much you weigh but you don't know if that is water, fat, muscle, bone etc. See picrel, my scan result at the end of a dirty bulk. I know exactly how I'm comprised (yes, it is an estimate but it's good enough to work from). If I'd just weighed myself and seen 85kg it's meaningless and I don't know how much fat I need to cut.
What inputs does this take? Don't you need to know your neck and waist measurement for a body fat test?
Idk how it works
>What inputs does this take?
You stand on sensors and hold a sensor in each hand and it passes a small current through your body to calculate the percentages.
This link is meant to show you if there is a test station near you but I don't think it works because it said my closest is Amsterdam (I live in UK) https://inbodyusa.com/support/nearest-testing-location/
The scale at my gym doesn't have handles so I doubt it can tell me my bodyfat. We will have to see, but I'm already going to assume weight checking is my only real option
>eat poorly (aka shitty salty food) >water bloat due to salt, probably backed up and need to shit cause no fiber >OMG 5 LBS
seriously dude just fucking keep at it you'll be fine, you didn't gain fat just from one day of garbage eating.

Oh my god shut the fuck up you actual retard, stop worrying about it so much and have the confidence that your diet is working without being a sperg.

I'd rather not be heavier by any means. It's already demoralizing with temporary water weight. Creatine would make me look bloated too. Idk if my gym has a body fat scanner. I'd have to see. But how accurate are those? At least with weight I know that what you see is what you are

I dont have 25lbs left to lose. It's much harder for me to lose weight as I'm already 155lbs as of this morning. That's why 5lbs of water weight is so demoralizing. It takes me weeks to lose 2lbs and 1 day to gain it all back
No. I tried that. Doesnt work. Plus I'm short so lean otter looks better than gymcel dwarf
What are you trying to get to? I'm 165, but I'm happy where I am since I was 250 last year.
I want to weigh 130lbs. But I'll be happy if I look shredded at 140

seriously dude just fucking keep at it you'll be fine, you didn't gain fat just from one day of garbage eating.
I know, but I now need to lose 5lbs of waterweight+fat gain. Even if it's 4.5lbs water and .5 fat, I still don't want to have to see my inflated weight for 5 days before I finally whoosh the water out
People always jump to these conclusions when they step on the scale after a day of bad diet choices. It's highly unlikely that you gained five pounds of actual body mass. If you were eating shitty then it's probably water weight from carbs and salt, the extra food still digesting in your intestines, and maybe a little bit of body fat.
You did bad yesterday, big deal. Do better today and don't let one day wreck your diet.

It's just demoralizing. I can't help it. I'm very obsessive about my weight and I unironically base my happiness for the day if I lost or gained weight.
Getting to 130 seems really fucking hard. I'd settle for 150. Your friends and family are going to be concerned for you too, don't just ignore them.
I have a lot of the same feelings you do after I eat something unhealthy, and I think it's better to talk to a therapist or something. I was already planning on it once I get home.
130 is possible. 150 isn't good enough. I will ignore anyone telling me it's not possible when it clearly is. You just need to eat less. I'm short so while it is very slim, it's still attainable.
I'd rather not see a therapist as they wouldn't understand either. Only person that could possibly give me solid advice is someone else my size with a 6 pack.

I dont think I have anorexia but I think I have an unhealthy relationship with food. I get really sad when I overeat. My wife asked me what's wrong. I told her I over ate today and she almost laughed at me, telling me it's a non issue. She doesn't understand how serious this is to me

Lemme guess if you don’t order McDonald’s everyday you LITERALLY CANT EVEN

yeah I think they replaced it with bug patties without people knowing

It's water weight but yeah, same here.
Just consume more salt
That makes you hold more water

I can lose like 25 pounds in a month when I'm trying. Step your shit up
