      it's true. there's nothing you can get from fruit that you can't get from vegetables, other than extra sugar.
      i mean, to say it's unhealthy might be a bit of a leap, but it's not a vital part of one's diet by any means.
      and DRIED fruit like dates is certainly tipping the scale towards unhealthy, since the sugar is so much more concentrated and it's easy to overindulge without being bottlenecked by the full feeling that whole fruit gives you.
      acidic fruits can also be bad for your teeth if over-indulged in.

      i'm not saying to cut fruit out, but if adding fruit to your diet makes it healthier then you probably had a really shit diet.

        The longer you actually study nutrition and biomechanics the more you'll realize that the macros are just a tiny part of the overall equation and that there are tons of stuff that aren't usually considered in the micros. IST posters might know to get enough stuff like magnesium, zinc etc. but even here it's just the typical wikipedia page list of micros that might be known. Antioxidants, choline, flavonoids etc. are almost never brought up even though they have major effects on aging, cancer and other critical areas of health.

        Vegetables are full of anti nutrients to defend the plant against being eaten. Fruit is designed to be eaten. Fruit and organ meat are great sources of micro nutrients.

    Dried fruits lack water and shit that fills you up so it's easier to eat too many of them. As long as you're not eating more than a few portions a day though what's the trouble.

    Also eat dates with peanut butter sprinkled.with rolled oats and it's like eating a PB&J without the jelly or bread.

    Trash anything over 5gs of fructose and the intestine cant neutralise it so it activates the polyol pathway and you lower your cell metabolic rate dont make atp and start storing fat and some of the reductase enzymes create/leave waste thats toxic and fricks you up.

    fruits are fine in moderation post/pre workout, and they have plenty of minerals and vitamins that pure corn syurp candies wouldn't have.
    That being said, anyone advocating for a fruit based diet is a fricking moron with a failing pancreas and fatty liver.
